Delistings/trades at end of the season
Yeah with like 3 hours to go before deadline. I still have no idea what that was all about. They clearly knew we didn't have time to evaluate the offer. Maybe the wanted to inflate Howe's ego? Shake him loose for a trade the next season? I dunno.

I hope Trenners gets up. One of my favourites when he was playing.

As much as I'd love that, I can't see Essendon doing it that trade.

From a list management perspective, it's not like getting Prestia precludes us from getting another tall midfielder unless there is one available at that price range. We got out last one from the rookie draft, and he's working out really well. I see nothing wrong with ND5 for Prestia and a separate trade/draft/rookie draft for another vanDenberg if we can find one.

Remember all the conjecture last year and then we get Frost out of nowhere? The year before that, we get our compo pick and no one had any idea who we'll get, and then in comes Vince? I have absolutely no doubt that this'll happen again. Someone who's not on any other club's radar but Roos has it all sussed out. He's a crafty one. I'll brace myself for the pleasant surprise :D

I suppose when you start winning it mitigates the envy issue somewhat.

I think it was a little different with Buddy. Bringing in the best key forward in the competition on huge money is a little different than brining in a star midfielder, especially when you already have one in Pendles. Sure, Sydney had Tippett, but we all know Buddy is better.

That'd be crazy. Pendles is more valuable than Dangerfield (as good as he is). You're right in it being a recipe for instability I reckon.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
I wanted so badly not to get my hopes up this pre-season, but that interview with Brayshaw and Petracca has put a smile on my face that isn't going to fade for days. I can't believe how happy they both are, so positive. I suppose it will also help to keep the young group together through free agency if they have attitudes like that.

Yep. He's looking better than O'Rouke as well. I wonder if the GWS boards have "O'Rourke vs Wines" threads.

Indeed. I lost those items a while back, along with my 20/20 hindsight goggles and tarot cards. Have been attempting to get by with reasoning and logic these past few years. So far it has been an unmitigated disaster. If you happen to find any of my lost magical items, please let me know. I'm offering several beanie babies as a reward.

Yep. And remember we had Viney at 26 or something. At the time Viney was rated better than Wines and very similar game styles. We would have been taking 2 inside aggressive mids instead of taking one plus an outsider classy mid who was rated higher anyway. Call was the right one at the time given the info available.
