I can definately see improvement from last year. Really good effort against the Roos and we were up against fresh legs against the Tigers. Toumpas and Viney both played well and Hogan is a beast (WHY CAN'T HE PLAY THIS YEAR?)

I was amazed that he played seven games last year and he played some food footy in those games. I'm backing him to hold a spot in the back six as well.

We need a quality midfielder who has played around 100 games and guys like Dale Thomas and Xavier Ellis certainly fit the brief. Wouldn't think Buddy would be a chance and Van Berlo is captain of the Crows but I'm certainly open to the possibility of Lecras.

Presuming that Clark's out of the side for the first few rounds, I wouldn't be surprised if Fitzy was given some game time. He looks promising and 3 goals from 3 games is a good start

O'Meara (GCS) and Crouch (ADE) could also be great picks this year and are cheaper than the ones you've listed. I've also picked Tom Mitchell (SYD) as a possible smokey.

All is looking good for players 1 to 6. Here is my abridged version. 1: The Hulk hasn't been forced into anything to strenuous so far and the club knows to be patient with his development. 2: Jonesy is continuing to set the standard with his leadership and performance after early foot soreness. 4: Wattsy has had a solid summer so far except for missing a week of training because of sickness and also feeling some leg tightness while in Darwin 5: My soon to be "bro"mance partner Jimmy Toumpas has been eased into the program and showing glimpses of brilliance when he has the ball in his hands. 6: Dawesy has had a few injury concerns early but is set to resume training when everyone returns. He has slotted in fantastically with his leadership and looks to form a formidable forward line partnership with Mitch Clark. Pre-season update: Hogan to Dawes
