  1. I'm not sure but i remember at the time feeling like pick 6 was probably slightly overs. he's had a great year in 2020 but just in that moment i felt if it was say pick 10 i'd have been more comfortable with it. very happy to have May and what he's bringing to the club, just sharing my thoughts in that moment.
  2. I thought pick 6 for Steven May was quite a lot.
  3. I think we'd be asking for a future second back with Brown if that's the case, surely. they'd be looking to do what we are and engaging the dogs for their first round pick.
  4. Apparently every single one of the top 12 teams is concerned about Salary cap this off season.
  5. Lol! obviously, based on all the midfielders we've bought in.
  6. The thing is, the pies knew this situation would unfold. it's very common for AFL clubs to run very close to the salary cap with the understanding that certain players would fall out along the way. They clearly didn't think AT was one of those based on his contract, so something has changed that's made him an expendable commodity. they weren't willing to sign Jordan De Goey to the same deal AT is on right now so i think that would suggest AT has fallen quite a long way down the pecking order. there are ways they could have dealt with their cap situation that didn't include trading Treloar, Phillips, Stephenson and so on. I personally believe there are other reasons they're trying to push AT out the door because pushing a bloke out like this who's signed up for 5 more years really shows they don't think they're going to get anything like value for their money from him. if AT is fully fit and happy i'd be retaining him and letting JDG walk, every day of the week.
  7. Sounds like North would like 2 second rounders for Brown. 33 and 50 seems pretty fair.
  8. any other intel on who we might be after?
  9. Here's the thing with the Adam Treloar stuff. i understand the media is running with it's all about Money stuff. but if he was really determined to stay at the Pies, he could offer to take a pay cut. this is clearly about other things
  10. Josh Dunkley is as straight laced as a person can get i can think and it's pretty well known he was dissapointed with the Lachie Hunter stuff, so you may well be right that there is a group there that rubs him the wrong way a bit. BUT I think fundementally he's leaving because Essendon are offering him ALOT of money.
  11. My best guess is 26 on it's own, or 31 and 50.. but it's hard to tell. but that potentially does leave us with 31, 33 and 43 which could be traded for a higher pick,
  12. Good deal for both sides. genuine win-win
  13. I think it's theoretically possible, but as you suggest you'd need a good reason. i think there would be a good chance the AFL would feel it wasn't needed to get the deal done. I suppose if we got a future second for Preuss we could theoretically do it?
  14. I believe we can apply for an exemption from the AFL though? i may be wrong but i believe we can
  15. My guess is the "Interest" from Essendon was just a ploy to get a better deal on Wright. i think given there is 52 hours left and he doesn't have an obvious home, he's now pretty likely to stay on.
  16. Future first and pick 50 - North for Ben Brown and pick 25 then flick some of those second rounders to clubs for first rounders if they need points. if we could get Ben Brown and a couple of decent picks that's a good result.
  17. Not sure why he's on the table mate, the Swans fans i know are shocked, they rate him as one of their best young talents. Happy to flick one of our second rounders up there to grab him.
  18. George Hewitt is on the trade table. worth a look?
  19. I suspect the other 2 picks will be bundled up and offered to the dogs for their first rounder as well. so potentially 26 and 43
  20. Does make you wonder if we've asked for Polec to be included? like 26 & 33 for Brown and Polec? i mean that'd be an option if we were confident the Tmac deal would get done
  21. if it's picks 26 and 33 i'd be expecting a pick back with Brown.
  22. as would i, but they can blame their clubs horrible handling of the situation for the reduced trade value.
  23. I'd be willing to bet that pick 33 will get the deal done for Ben Brown.
  24. The pies signing Grundy long term makes sense because they were going to struggle to keep him otherwise, though i agree 7 years is excessive. in terms of Treloar, it's a big contract, and they'd know they're going to have to pay some of that salary moving forward. but i think there are teams that would take a punt on him at 700k. i don't agree that Treloars contract was as irresponsible as some are saying though. the reality is that if the trade scenario never came up, noone would be talking about it. and it's been widely understood he's been on big money for a long time.
  25. the pies may well pay 200k of that money but they'd certainly prefer 200k to 900K and the dogs may view a 700k adam treloar as a bit of a bargain
