Players to target at the end of the year
Ted Lasso replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree, personally i'd much rather see a team full of young talented kids playing than some of the cloggers we have at the minute, Brayshaw, Petracca, Kent, Salem, Toumpas, Viney and Tyson is quite a good young midfield core, add Jones, Vince, Cross and Trengove and we have some depth as an example a side of Jetta Mcdonald Garland Howe Dunn Toumpas Salem Trengove Kent Vince Hogan Petracca JKH Dawes Gawn Jamar Tyson N.jones Brayshaw Viney Ellis Barry it's young, but it's got a totally different feel too it, and with Roos and Stone around some serious development could go into this young core group and this list could be handed over in good shape imo -
Roos' Post game press conference
Ted Lasso replied to champagne football's topic in Melbourne Demons
I tend to agree, but I think Roosy might in this case be looking for a reaction, the Swans culture is player driven so maybe he's thinking, lets see how they pick themselves up, who the real leaders are and so on, I think he probably has a line through a lot of names at this stage -
Players to target at the end of the year
Ted Lasso replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Look at the Doggies and how they have simply gone to the draft and recruited well, that's what we need to do imo Bring in 2. Petracca 3. Brayshaw 20. Ellis 38. Stretch and develop them well, a young side of Viney, Tyson, Hogan, Petracca, Salem, Brayshaw, Ellis, Stretch, Mcdonald, Howe, Toumpas, Gawn doesn't look too bad at all -
Dawes is on very good money to be a key forward for our football club, right now in my opinion he's just not cutting it, he seems a good leader and works hard and a good example and all that, but his role in the team is to be a spearhead, but he's not kicking goals, or taking contested marks, and really struggling to mark overhead. having said that I think Hogans return will help him out a lot

Roos' Post game press conference
Ted Lasso replied to champagne football's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know it's been said before, but wait until round 1 2015, he knows what these boys can do now, knows who needs to be cut, has salary cap space to bring in some good players, has some good picks to trade I trust the club to get it right this time, it's going to take a couple of years but we have 4 wins, SHOULD have been more, and I think most predicted about 6 at the start of the year? we are on par at the very least, it's just frustrating -
His inability to take a Mark is a worry
-
I think we need to add more attacking flair to the game plan
-
Roos just needs to trade for picks and develop a fresh crop Petracca, brayshaw, Ellis and stretch is a good start
-
we look a lot better when we move the ball quickly we should be able to run them off their legs
-
Dawes and frawley have been horrible, need to hold marks ffs
-
Gws have already sent their best mid forward and their best back forward, we'd get investigated if we did that

Footscray v Casey Scorpions (Jesse Hogan returns)

How's the Toump looking? -
BOG to Nathan Jones and another 3 brownlow votes in the bank I reckon he is going to finish higher than people might think, won't win, but I reckon top 10
-
Corey Ellis Rjay? I watched him a few weeks ago and thought he could play the role, what do you reckon?
-
Pj should make a phone call to that hero and scare some sense into him

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I strongly believe if pick 1 isn't traded the Saints will find it difficult to pass up McCartin, so for mine, Petracca is pick 2 If we lose today i'd be very surpised if we don't draft him, if not I think picks 3 and 4 will be on the trade table -
He's a good chance to be All Australian, and exactly the type of player we need, not only is he a linebreaking highly skilled half back, he's a genuine leader, two time premiership player, coming from the swans culture who has played under Roos, he'd move into the role seamlessly it's an absolute no brainer from my point of view

Tom Mitchell is one I really hope we chase hard, he's a great young player and already has a solid relationship with Roos and Stone -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree WYL, if there is enough evidence to issue Show cause notices to 34 players, in my opinion there is enough doubt over the matter to make it unfair on the other teams, imagine the team who finishes 9th finding out in two months time 34 players have received infraction notices and shouldn't have been playing in the first place? -
Big win today would be great, this is an oppoutinity to show some of the young GWS blokes we are on the right track so they can request trades to mfc
-
I rate him on par with Jack viney, would love him at mfc
-
Miles is the one from GWS we should have picked up last year, would have been a delisted free agent or Rookie pick, he has an amazing work ethic and is showing how good he is going to be now

I think Fitzy might hold some value to another side that is lacking in key forward targets and he wouldn't cost a fortune to attract, perhaps a team like Freo or the Bulldogs would consider Fitz if he was on the table
-
Probably a second rounder, wouldn't get near our high picks unless we got another top 10 pick back and even then I would be very hesitant but I do rate him as a player, just need to see a bit more before he is worth a big investment
