Tim lamb was dealt a really poor hand with Oliver and petracca on the way out before we even started. He signed 4 players who will feature in our best 22 next year imo in Steele, heath, CJ and checkers Freed up around 2 million in cap space, bought in 3 new first round picks, had Bailey Humphrey on the hook. In terms of turning a negative into a positive it’s really hard to fault his work.

Yeah he’s definitely still in our best side. I don’t think his output would be dissimilar to Clayton Oliver. He just has way better defensive habits, leadership and character. We don’t need him to be a superstar, just to play a role. Steve king comes from the cats where atkins is the tackle king, I suspect we’ve bought in Steele to play the same role, tackle, defend and allow guys like kozzie and rivers to get after the game. The impact Steele is going to have on the development of our young guys will be powerful especially now we’re going to likely have 4 more first rounders in the next 2 years

What about 7, 8 and the suns future first For 2 and 13 from the eagles?

Let’s hope we draft Sullivan Robey, Pickett. I suspect you’ll learn to love again when you see him play

Rapt with this signing. our team suddenly has a lot of leg speed with CJ, Windsor, Langford, Chandler, Kozzie and others.

Hard to imagine we don't look to move up the draft order to potentially get access to Sullivan Robey.

8 first round picks in 4 years is nothing to scoff at. and 1.3 mil a year in cap space opened up, Zak Bailey, Zak Butters, Bailey Humphrey pursuit again. it gives us options.

It's just me and how much i rate Bailey Humphrey but i'd be totally happy to just offer outrageous overs and get him. Trac and next year first which could be top 5, or even next year and 2027. I think having someone with this level of talent on the hook is rare and it's sometimes worth just paying overs when you're a smaller club like Melbourne to get in transformational talent like BH.

THIS is the point being totally missed by those not keen on this. Elite training standards, elite character, high end leadership and low cost. We don't need him to be a superstar, we need him to add depth and help the young guys in a midfield that's losing a lot of depth.
