  1. I agree, it's way to big a deal with way to many moving parts, which is why i suppose i appreciated it initially because it really is putting his reputation on the line.
  2. Not at all mate, i am very confident this deal will get done and get done at a good price trade wise.
  3. I reckon identifying sources by name or at least giving a really strong indication as to who they are is one of the sillier things that i've seen on here, but the interest in Rockliff is something i've also heard, though the deal he suggested is totally different
  4. It's a tough balancing act, if you don't post sources you're highly likely to attract the wrath of posters unless you have points in the bank, but if you do then you're really putting your sources in hot water if it gets out that they said something, which is clearly a risk in this case. good on Generation Dee for posting what he's heard with details, maybe not the source part of it though.
  5. I see where you're coming from, but i'd be staggered if Hawthorn realistically thought they were going to get any more than pick 47 for a 30 year old that wants to move and is a legend of their club. i reckon they owe it to him to facilitate a deal in this case, and if they're asking for pick number 29 it's simply not going to happen in my opinion. Hawthorn run the risk of damaging their culture if they continue to treat legends of their club poorly.
  6. are you hearing anything regarding the other big rumour of the day GNF?
  7. The other factor that i believe comes into this is the way they're currently being viewed in the public, plenty of Hawks supporters feel they did the wrong thing by Sam Mitchell, and are quite annoyed with how this Lewis situation sits, i reckon they owe it to him and their supporters to restore some of the good will and do the right thing by a Champion player. i think pick 47 is more than fair, especially when you consider he's an unrestricted free agent next year who doesn't want to be there, the Hawks simply need to understand there is a huge chance they could lose him for nothing as well as another legend of the club leave under questionable circumstances if they don't come to the party with this.
  8. Lets be honest, if you want to become the laughing stock of sport around the world this is a good way to do it Hey guys, our 2012 league best and FAIREST is also a convicted drug cheat in the same year. it's embarrassing that the AFL didn't tell Jobe if the appeal failed he'd have to hand it back, this situation is black and white, it's Jobes job to prove he is innocent not the other way around.
  9. i'd have no issues with handing over pick #47 for Lewis.
  10. Like Josh Kelly perhaps
  11. Picking up Lewis and Rockliff also allows Bernie Vince to play exclusively as an outside mid where he will be even more dangerous
  12. We're looking around and have a few cheap options in mind, Goodwin is keen to have three genuine ruckman who can go to AFL level at any time, Gawn and Spencer and one more as either a DFA or late pick in the draft
  13. Lewis i think will play a good amount of half forward, he's done that with the Hawks and been quite dangerous, similiar ish to Brad Green at the end of his career
  14. 19&47 - Hawks for 23 and 33?
  15. So do we then pass on 19 for Hibbered and hope to get an upgrade on our third round pick?
  16. Absolutely! i reckon he's a clear upgrade on someone like Vanders, a big body mid/good half forward.
  17. I reckon it's best not to speculate about what Goldestein may or may not have done given some of the talk around. regarding Rockliff, i think a lot of his issues are Brisbane related, feeling he has to carry a terrible side and the captaincy not really helping his footy either, a fresh start at a team where winning is a bit more regular, the direction is clear and he can just be a player might be great for him, if we could get him for the price going around that the Lions would take i'd 100% be grabbing him
  18. I'm only doing what Jordan wants me to do, that's all I'll say Liam Pickering this VS wright saying that Lewis wants to stay.
  19. yes, but has to be approved by the board/coaches and some clubs hate the idea of first year players getting into it.
  20. He's a question, does Lewis walk into our leadership group next year? personally i think he and Hibberd both would/do but i know some don't think new recruits should be official leaders
  21. I think you'll find in this case Pickers and co might be behind the leaks in order to put heat on the Hawks to do the deal, the word getting around about this is so consistent
  22. Yes, but you can also complete a level 3 coaching transition course in the final years of your playing career and there is every chance that would be a part of this, allows him to walk straight in as a qualified assistant at a team that should be top 4 ish and complete a level 4 and be in a great position to apply for senior coaaching gigs in the future.
  23. Port are in just as much trouble as Richmond, the only real difference is that they're outside VIC and don't get quite as much attention here. they are overrating their list and coach, they have no plan or identity as a team and they're going nowhere. i've also heard not everyone there is as keen on Boaks captaincy style as Hinkley i. they've locked a bunch of overrated players on long term deals that noone else will touch
  24. Then we can move pick 88 on to the dockers for Nat Fyfe
  25. In contrast North Melbourne are now -2000 odd games played or whatever it was haha
