http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-09/fathers-and-sons-whos-on-the-radar Kobe Farmer, 16, the son of former livewire Jeff, is showing plenty of promise playing at Mandurah in Western Australia. The youngster would be eligible to play for Melbourne or Fremantle with Jeff playing more than 100 games for both clubs. The Demons are hoping Kobe may be able to participate in some of their father-son academy activities later this year.

Must have been a decent ping of the hammy, he did it weeks ago. Shame as he looked very good when he came back into the team.

19-3 ... lol Wishful thinking there WD, though I would love for you to be right obviously.

Heres mine... bottom 6 is the same but huge differences in the top 2/3rds of the ladder.

Thats great. Been waiting for the afl.com to open their ladder predictor..... bloody hopeless they are.

http://www.afl.com.au/stats/player-ratings/overall-standings I haven't checked these for ages as the rating system confused me. Last time I looked at them was a few years ago and there were no Demons in the top 100. Its a different story now. Five players in the top 50 is equal most of any club (alongside Adelaide). Max Gawn 23 Clayton Oliver 32 Nathan Jones 41 Tom McDonald 44 Christian Petracca 50 Jake Lever 94 For the record Jesse Hogan, who is now a superstar dominating games and has always been a gun , is ranked 269th.. so yeah I still have no idea how the thing works. (Maybe all his missed games last season?)... maybe the reason Viney is ranked way too low at 121.
  7. Our drafting from the 2012 draft onward has been superb. The only pick we really blew was Toumpas at pick 4 in 2012. Anyone know which draft was Jason Taylors first with the MFC?

Gawn and Gus have combined for some beautiful clearances from centre bounces the last couple of weeks. We have a lot of fantastic mids but until now only Jack Viney seemed to have that telepathic connection with Maximus. It is a real gift.

Clearly didn't watch the game and only looked at the stats. Guaranteed. The first 4 were spot on though.

Have the coaches told him to stop taking on the tackler every opportunity? Gets caught so often and regularly kills our momentum by not choosing the first or most obvious option. He thinks he is Dustin Martin out there trying to crash through everyone. If he played within himself and stopped trying to do things he isn't capable of doing, he would be a very good player. So frustrating.

Brilliant. Must have been very hard for the Saints to watch today, even though Trac was quiet.

32 disposals and a goal, in the best four players on the ground with Hogan, Oliver and Gawn. Continuing on from his great form last week when he was moved on to the ball. Gus is gonna be awesome.
  13. On their way to another top 5 pick which they can waste won another small weak mid with no match winning ability. (see McGrath, Parish etc etc.) Hope Adrian Dodoro stays there forever.
  14. Didn't need to hunt them down Dan, that was earlier in the week. Admittedly I got a bit lucky with the news of the last few days. But there will be plenty more messiness to come over the years for them. Anyways, RIP Essendon lolol
  15. Feeling pretty good about my statement now after the last couple of days. The words of Hird and Sheedy today backed up my feeling that the Bombers are going to be a mess for many years. The drug saga was a culture changer.
  16. The great man is confirmed back for round 8 vs Gold Coast. Looking forward to more opposition tears courtesy of our maniacal skipper.

Too bad theres no training thread this week, would love to know how JV is looking. Cant wait to see him back out there cracking opposition skulls and tearing games apart.

Chad Cones (Port runner) suspended for 1 week for swearing at Toddd Goldstein. Here is brother Kane reporting the news while simultaneous defending Chad and saying it should be ok for runners to swear at players. Not sure who the biggest [censored] is in that family but boy is there some competition. Bonus - Twitter comments are people calling him out for his bias and good old Kane cant help but bite, cos he can never be wrong, can he?
  20. Waiting on @picket fence to inform us what Spargo's nickname will be. Hopefully its a lot better than Choo Choo.
  21. Interesting that hes had more 40+ goal seasons than Jeff Farmer did (though none as brilliant as Farmers best few seasons) Hopefuly he can find form, nowhere near it right now.
  22. Bloody hell. Anyone have an explanation for that apart from the obvious?
  23. What replied to Chelly's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Brilliant. We have to beat the Saints this week.. we can then get on a huge roll with gun players coming back and hopefully at or close to full strength.
  24. Geelong under Bomber Thompson need to be investigated thoroughly. They came back after the preseason in 2007 looking abnormally huge. Same as the Bombers in 2013.

Police also allege the AFL premiership-winning coach’s DNA was found on packaging containing more than 33g of ice, 4.2g of amphetamines and an LSD tablet.
