When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Need a new thread for the records we are breaking ourselves.

Stats-file 2018
Gawn and Hogan missing half the season each was the reason for that. They lead us contested marks per game this season again. (T Mac third).

Stats-file 2018
Thats incredible. I notice we are 18th in the league in bounces. We have had 34 bounces all season compared to Esenedon with a league leading 109. St Kilda and the Doggies are in the top 5. Again proving that speed is largely irrelevant in the AFL. Ball movement is king.

The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
I actually chuckled a few times at how he just went after the ball, bulldozing through multiple Crows players and they couldn't do a thing about it. He decided he wanted the footy so he just went in and got it in a sea of players. Like he just said '[censored] it, I may as well hit top form second game back from a long layoff'.

Jason Taylor and his assistants are freaking awesome.

What the Fritsch
Another 24 possessions, 6 marks and a game high 3 goal assists. Can not believe how good he has been, pick 31, first year player, started as a forward the first month and looked very dangerous, suddenly moved into the midfield/wing the last few weeks and is now racking up the footy and looking like the prototype winger of yesteryear. Let the good times roll!

Home ground disadvantage
Back to our favourite hunting ground Etihad this Saturday vs the struggling Doggies... If we weren't returning from a warm game in Alice Springs Id be tipping the first 200 point game in the clubs history.

Adelaide’s Tom Lynch
Got absolutely destroyed by Bernie Vince.

Tom McDonald sent for Scans (24/5)
I'm no expert but it would surely be impossible to play AFL footy (and many other sports) without a big toe.

Tom McDonald sent for Scans (24/5)
Really wish he would have held off on making those comments until the scan results come in.

Injury List - Season 2018
You gotta be effin kidding me

Not saying he would have been a first rounder, but he clearly has talent/potential if half a dozen or more teams were after him. So while we wont have our first round pick we are adding a draft age player at no cost to help cover it. The last paragraph of The Age article touches on that - 'The decision is also a boost for Melbourne, who appear finals bound for the first time since 2006, as they do not have a first round draft pick at this year's national draft having traded a future first rounder to Adelaide to secure Jake Lever. Injury List - Season 2018
Hes good enough, but he hasn't played an AFL game since 2016, we are loaded with big bodied mids/forwards and the team is hard to break into and will hopefully be even harder to get into as the season progresses. Reckon he and the supporters would be happy enough if he came back injury free and was able to play the season out at Casey and attack a full preseason for once. He deserves a fair run at it.

True. And for reference heres the article about him from 6 weeks ago that mentions half a dozen clubs after him including the Pies and Cats. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-06/vic-clubs-chasing-son-of-australian-sport-champions

Almost feels like gaining back the first rounder we traded away in the Lever deal. Lever + Bradtke for two (hopefully) late first rounders Glad to read that Geelong and Collingwood were into him. I hope they are crying in their cornflakes.

204 centimeters, athletic, still growing, great sporting pedigree. Our player development has done a complete 180 from the dark day and is now looking elite, so its hard not to be a little excited about this kid. We should all be glad he chose the MFC over other clubs, as @RalphiusMaximus said above. edit - Just realized his mum is Nicole Provis.. yeah thats a hell of a pedigree indeed.- What the Fritsch
Doubles him in inside 50's, almost double in metres gained. Shows he is much more dangerous. More contested possession per game too.... and Fritsch is stick thin. Add the massive difference in aerial/marking ability and courage, and we cashed in Watts for a 21 year old who is at least twice as good if not more.- What the Fritsch
Had him in my round 1 team predictions and the reasoning was that he would be too good to ignore. What a steal, and all we had to give up was Watts.- Andrew Gaff
Yeah but would that be fair on the rest of the competition?- When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
The Melbourne Football Club has never scored 200 points in a game in its history. Our highest score is just 182, achieved twice. We were 23 shy of equaling that yesterday. I am pretty sure every club from the VFL has scored 200+ in a game, including Sydney and the Brisbane Bears. Fitzroy have done it too I think. This current crop of talent we have coming through might get us our first ever 200 point game. The firepower is there. It will be a magical day when we can tick that one off.- Angus Brayshaw
Since he got moved into the middle at halftime of the Essendon game, we have won 14 straight quarters and 4 straight games. His impact has been profound. He is 4th in the comp for inside 50's per game. vs Essendon - 21 disposals, 4 inside 50's, 6 clearances, 8 score involvements, 311 metres gained vs St Kilda - 32 disposals, 8 inside 50's, 5 clearances, 9 score involvements, 659 metres gained, 1 goal vs Gold Coast - 24 disposals, 8 inside 50's, 4 clearances, 8 score involvements, 475 metres gained, 1 goal 3 behinds vs Carlton - 24 disposals, 7 inside 50's, 11 tackles, 2 clearances, 8 score involvements, 412 metres gained Looking like pick 3 was very well spent.- Come on optimists, sell me hope
I dont think we have lost a quarter since you made this thread. ? CB for Prime Minister!- Andrew Gaff
Would need to trade Tyson for a pick and have Vince retire to be able to afford Gaff. If we add him to our already superb, deep and ultra talented midfield we would be unstoppable. - WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
