Surely we will get at least 1 upset today.. all three game are chance for a boilover.
-
Matthew Lloyd has moved Tom McDonald into his rolling AA team. And fair enough too, he has been unreal. He also has Gawn as ruck, and Hogan in the forward pocket.
-
How do you match up on them? You would need TWO tall backs with massive tanks just to stick with them. The problem then becomes actually stopping them.. they are elite footballers who both average 3 goals per game... they are superb in the air and on the ground.. ... they are match winners. A devastating combo.

Will be interesting to see which Demon players Lloyd has in his rolling AA team on the Sunday Footy show today.
-
Hes down 0.7 disposals per game from last season but he is averaging career highs for clearances, tackles, inside 50's, contested possession and metres gained (almost double there). I bet his 2nd half of the season will be even better than the first. Hes a marvel.
-
But whos the 2nd tall backman? Fritsch can not play as a KPD.
-
Good point. Hopefully this talks a few people down from the ledge.
-
If the team was picked now how many would we have? I have 4 Demons in the team - Gawn (ruck), Hogan (CHF /anywhere in the forward line), Jetta (back pocket) and Oliver (ruck rover or bench).
-
We might go from 1st best percentage to third once the two games tonight are done with.
-
Essendon could do us a favour for the third week running. Thats the good part. The bad part is that they'd have three great wins in a row with their confidence sky high and talking finals. And nobody wants to see those cheats in the 8.
-
He simply does not play a bad game.

Which of our young stars will end up our best player
What replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
A disgrace that Fritsch isn't in this poll. Burn it all down. -
Theres always hope until the scan results come in.
-
6 - T Mac - Dominated the air. 5 - J Hogan - dominated the air 4 -N Jetta - dominated in defense 3 Fritsch - wow 2 Oliver - beast 1 Brayshaw - beast
-
We have won 5 straight at Etihad.
-
Geez they are bad. Got Lynch and Martin back for this game and most thought they'd be competitive. Worst part is they might be running Geelong into form.
-
T Mac isnt going back, hes a star forward and the combo with Hogan is just about unstoppable. We will easily make the finals, Lever or not.
-
A huge opportunity for our tall backs to make a statement at Casey tomorrow. Frost, Petty, Keilty, J Smith... who wants it?
-
Hes gone to another level the last two weeks vs Adelaide - 37 disposals, 14 marks, 5 inside 50's, 3 goals, 12 score involvements, 791 metres gained vs Western Bulldogs - 39 disposals, 8 marks, 9 inside 50's, 1 goal, 5 score involvements, 637 metres gained
-
How the hell did we snag this kid in Round 2 of the draft? 26 possessions, 14 marks, 1 goal, 4 tackles Racking up the footy since moving to the midfield... elite disposal.... amazing in the air. Wowee!!!!!!!
-
It sucks that he may be done 2018, but I think he will be replaceable - relatively speaking. Winning flags starts in the midfield. A dominant midfield can make any backline look good. And Joel Smith can do a lot of the things Lever does. He may not be able to play as a 2nd tall though, so maybe we will need both Frost and Smith. Or maybe neither? There are options. Yes its harsh losing our star recruit but the season will hardly be a write off. Top 4 and a flag still well and truly in our sights.
-
T mac 19 goals in 6 games... 3.2 per game. Incredible... if he didnt miss the first 5 weeks he would likely be leading the Coleman.
-
Yup. Its J Smith time.
-
Bit hard when we just lost Lever for the season. But its an opportunity for Frost/Keilty/J Smith/Petty to fill the void.
