  1. Tom McDonald to the back line if Weid improves and grabs a spot prior to Tom's return. Swinging T Mac into offence when circumstances demand.
  2. Posted this on the changes for next week thread and thought it might also be apposite for this thread: "Our present game plan seems to substantially channel the Richmond game plan. If so today's game between Hawks and Tigers will be a fascinating lesson in whether the scramble of Richmond can overcome the precision of the Hawks. A real pity that this is not the FTA broadcast game"

  4. Past history shows you might be right but I think that all on this forum are barracking for Pedersen to challenge for a recall.
  5. Coburg is a wonderfully located ground near the corner of Bell St and Sydney Road. Easy car parking and a lovely ground at which to watch footy. $5 for MFC members and for those so inclined they have a tent selling local craft beer. Look forward to seeing a few there at 1pm today. I will be watching Brayshaw and the Weid closely as I am sure will be many others.
  6. Proverbial curates egg perhaps best describes yesterday's game. Good in patches. Then again Fritsch's mark is allowed and the two comedy capers like misses in the second quarter are goals and we have a 55 point win. Deduct two Brown goals for dubious frees and it is almost an 80 point thrashing. Let's be honest North are not a good team and we should have won easier yesterday. I posted on the match day thread that I thought we looked slow. Matthew Lloyd on 3AW made the same comment after the game. Other than Hunt who is sadly out of form who do we have that can provide the necessary explosive dash. As WJ mentions above perhaps it is one of this year's draft picks because I can't think of anyone else at Casey who fits the bill. Same problem with the tall but at least we have two candidates in Weideman and Pedersen. Today's Casey game will be interesting. (1pm at Coburg for those who want to come along...lovely ground). My take is no changes but then again like most others I have been badly amiss at guessing Goodwin's selection strategy this season.
  7. Bugg is one of those kind of players that will win you the big ones if he clicks.... He is the perfect decoy forward
  8. good point BBO but I saw some real upside today .. a bit like GWS v Collingwood last week... GWS could not quite click Hawks are a big test.... one we must win if this season is going to be seriously good. Today's win like last weeks was pencilled in by most of us Only thing that worries me is that we are a slow team ... we really need some players that can turn on the after burners
  9. Hogan 6 Gawn 5 Bugg 4 (kicked them when we needed them) Petracca 3 Kent 2 (proved me wrong) Tyson 1 (needs the love but it could have been Lewis) And minus 10 for the umpiring ... absolutely bewildering
  10. had an '85 Grange on Easter Sunday ... good colour but no fruit left A "young" shiraz sounds great A quiet whisky after a win is my go ... Go Dees
  11. Funny game today Loved the win but we could have been so much better. I am comforted by watching GWS at the MCG last week against Collingwood. GWS were by miles the more skilful side but Collingwood would not go away and GWS just could not get that final piece of its act together. Some of our forward forays were almost comical in their ineptitude Hats off to Bugg ... if he had not missed that shot on half time I would have him as BOG behind Hogan. Joeboys' summary as usual is good but fair ... one day though he will share his love with Tyson. Perhaps there is a lesson in "resting" Oliver in the forward line

Couple more please so I can enjoy the last ten minutes of what has been a frustrating afternoon

Okay Let's do it. First three goals please

Rarely notice the umpiring but this game is being over umpired
  15. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
That goal was painful to watch
  16. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Serious question. Are we simply a slow side. Our ability to run and carry/ explode from a pack seems to be lacking
  17. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Would need to play a little better to worry the Hawks

Norf always remind me of Monty Pythons black knight.

This forward bombing just has to stop especially the shallow bombing
  20. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
To give up five goals in a quarter to a bottom four team.. speechless
  21. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Our forward delivery is just so bad
  22. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Not the greatest of starts. A high bomb to the forward line Yawn
  23. Channel 7 is its own worst enemy. It thinks its ratings come from the supporters of the club whereas in truth the ratings come from football followers. Other than the interest in watching a train wreck who wanted to watch 16th play 17th. Even worse is tonight's game...Adelaide v Saints when every football follower bar a few Saints supporters wants to watch the big game between GWS and Sydney
  24. Diamond_Jim replied to Josh's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Even the Saints were with them goal for goal for a half. North are putrid. Sad indictment of the coaching staff that we lost to them twice last year.

Regulation win required.... 36 points Interesting to see how Goodwin coaches....... all the other teams can beat North so no excuse for a loss
