  12. Germany .. 34K seat stadium in Mainz at 2.5k per seat ... wow
  13. Interesting article here on stadium costs ... unfortunately it does not go into the roof costs. The new WA stadium averaged out at $17K per seat which is very high by world standards. Location: Borisov (Belarus). Capacity 14,000. Cost per seat: $4000. Location: Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea). Capacity: 15,000. Cost per seat: $3700. Location: San Jose (US). Capacity: 18,000. Cost per seat: $7500. Location: Buriram (Thailand). Capacity: 32,000. Cost per seat: $720. Location: Mainz (Germany). Capacity: 34,000. Cost per seat: $2500. Location: Sao Paolo/Palmeiras (Brazil). Capacity: 43,000. Cost per seat: $6400. I could go on, but the point is clear. If football venues across five continents, including clubs from the Bundesliga and the MLS, can be built at least 25 per cent cheaper than here, and in many cases more than 50 per cent cheaper, why do our governments continue to pay so much? The new AFL Perth stadium is up around $17,000 per seat. Incredible. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/why-aleague-needs-a-view-from-the-cheap-seats-20161215-gtc5a8.html
  14. quarter time 3:1 to 2:1 in favour of Werribee Werribee dominating according to Casey radio
  15. There certainly are a few hills in Hobart mate. You post makes one wonder what the economics of a roofed stadium in Hobart would require.
  16. a pity we don't have Bruce to call the game but I assume BT will make up for it
  17. you might get away with that on the Collingwood forum ET but not here on the mensa board with all us Greek and Latin scholars
  18. thanks... a little surprised that Hunt is the emergency... thought it would be Hannan and Stretch Hope you can find somewhere warm to watch the match
  19. yeah .. we must have a quiet thread one off season analysing how we became so bad
  20. Diamond_Jim replied to Toorak's post in a topic in Other Sports
my God... WSTB must be around 12 at least
  21. nah.... Suns for Tassie if North doesn't go there first (will be interesting if the AFL put some relocation money on the table after this Tasmanian review ... would upset hawks which makes it doubly good!!) ACT is not a bad market with Wagga and the Riverina ... has always been strong AFL country. GWS has to be careful though because the AFL wants to maintain the media appearance that there are two Sydney teams
  22. Canberra is a very handy growth market for the Giants. Could be a good deal of corporate sponsorship money available for super boxes etc given the government business angle.
  23. GWS at $1:10 and Freo at over $6. Strange given Freo's recent wins over Essendon and Gold Coast and GWS coming off a loss to Sydney
  24. Gale on 3AW gave the impression that he was not particularly impressed with the MCG deal. Implied that the MCG needed to recognize they were reliant on clubs like the Tigers to stay in the black.
