PRACTICE MATCH: vs North Melbourne Streamed LIVE on Kayo
Sydee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hope everyone remembers its a practice match only and nobody goes into a complete meltdown if we don't win - perhaps that's too much to ask I'd like to think most of the young kids will get a taste and many of those who didn't play at the pointy end last year will get reasonable game time to put their case forward to selectors -
Tayla's post match interview was very impressive She spoke extremely well and came across as a very genuine and team focused person Glad to hear that her family was there to watch her - she certainly put on a great show for them Hopefully she continues to enjoy more success with the mighty Dees

No pressure at all being applied there - Luke Dunstan I think needed to go a bit harder re the spoiling attempt -
I'm old enough to remember the physical belting the MFC received from Essendon in our previous GF appearance That particular day we were simply not capable of tacking up the physical challenge and hurting the opposition If you watch the opening minute of the GF again it is Jack who sets the standard immediately in terms of uncompromising bone crunching tackling - we didn't look back after that

Fair enough BBP I could put 2 and 2 together and presume he is very happy playing with his mates at Melbourne and his parents see a great opportunity to move to Melbourne to spend more time watching him develop into a great footballer in a city that arguably has a lot more to offer than Perth I could be wrong Just don't see any value in speculating either way. I have no idea what's going on and neither do you He always comes across as being a happy lad - and why wouldn't he be. I finally have a level of confidence in our coaches and officials to get these things right. If we are concerned that he is about to get homesick and run back to Perth I find it remarkable that we have just loaded up with another 3 WA boys in the draft
-
care to elaborate on what this means ?
-
Running back to Perth didn't work out too well for Jessie - I think Luke knows he is in a very special place right now The core of this premiership team can enjoy sustained success and get handsomely paid too along the way If they stick together Plenty of examples of characters that chased the $$$'s only to be disappointed - its not all about money IMO

yes he was pictured at most recent training sporting some new ink

Agree its Hunt & Hibberd competing for a spot not Bowey Tomlinson is too slow to play on a small forward so only see him forcing Petty out - unless he plays in another position outside the back six injuries and form can change things up pretty quickly but we now seem to have good depth - a great position to be in
-
Great result and helps set the club up (hopefully) for a sustained period of success Well done to all concerned
-
looks a little bit like a young Ben Cousins to me - I think young Woey will be a good get - he is certainly joining the club at the right time with some very capable coaches and players to learn from
-
I still feel his best chance is as a forward - we good depth in the back six I'd like to see him put in a good injury free pre season then get a run of games as a forward to see if he has what it takes
-
Congrats Max and Jess - cute bub ☺️

They have such a strong home ground advantage that it’s almost certain that will make the finals If they had to play all their home games at say MCG or Docklands I very much doubt they would be in contention The teams sharing the MCG and Docklands have less of an advantage for home games IMO I hope next year it will be our 1 in 30 year break from having to travel to the litter box
-
I'd say Melk and Vanders had a pretty good idea they were not likely to be part of that team going forward - footy is a very very tough game
-
Nice highlights from The Big Mac Can kick, can mark, can run, can handball If the MFC really want him I say they will find a way to get it done In Jason Taylor I trust
-
Just wow - so glad this man plays for the MFC - very proud and love reading stuff like this Petracca’s Grand Final gesture to good mate Lucas (melbournefc.com.au)
-
I guess all good things come to an end - Nev was certainly a very good thing and one of our favorites I'm sure he won't be lost to the club and continue to support MFC going forward as we have seen with so many great former players recently Good luck with everything you do post playing footy Nev

No thanks

Well I have watched the 14 minute mini match replay at least 10 times and I still tear up I can’t actually remember how I felt early in the 3rd quarter last night but I’m sure there was a fair bit of “oh no this is not going to plan” The way this team ran rings around a side that is pretty damn good is something I honestly never thought I’d see - the last half was easily the most impressive MFC performance I have seen in 50+ years of supporting them Christian Petracca - just Wow he has developed into not only an outstanding footballer but I’ve been super impressed with his maturity and how he speaks. I’ve said this before but I love the way he openly expresses his understanding of what this all means to us the supporters particularly those who couldn’t be there to see it first hand Thanks to everyone at the club for getting us here to this place it is a special day and one I will not forget. A special thanks to our recruiting staff who have picked some outstanding young men who are now playing as one team The people that read and post on this site may not always agree but we are all passionate about our team and I am so happy for all of you because I know how much this means. Personally some people who post here particularly in some of our more difficult times have helped me get through and for that I’m grateful I’m still a bit numb but I could get used to this feeling 🏆🔴🏆🔵🏆
