    Fig, that was disappointing.

    Every one of our bottom end players played like one, and I include Kent in that.

    First time a Goodwin MFC team has put the cue in the rack. Had forgotten how disgusting this feeling is. Forced myself to watch the last 15 minutes. Don't even know why.

    Going to have a quiet sook to myself tonight I think.

    Quoted for truth.

    news to me  ... but please elaborate

    on another tangent the Nrth Melbourne cheer squad chant of "Let's go Kangas" is so little Lleyton it is painful.

    (BTW Lleyton earned my respect thoroughly by the time he finished his career but that chant was so nuff.)

    Isn’t three words the maximum a North supporter can string together?

    Thanks mate appreciate that. There's also individual stats if you can be bothered posting some, for instance if be interested in Bugg's pressure acts

    Bugg had 9 pressure acts.

    Team high was Garlett with 24.

    Jones = 20

    Wagner = 19

    Neal-Bullen = 19

    Oliver = 18

    Salem = 17

    “If the non-Victorian clubs work together as a block, that’s six of them. That’s a strong force.”

    Wow, someone can't count. Last time i checked there were 8 interstate teams.

    Maybe they consider Swans and Lions to be quasi-Victorian teams considering they have a larger supporter base in Vic from  their origins.

    Don’t tell me even the media are starting to notice this blatant cheating....

    Well they noticed and played slow motion footage of him lifting his arm and for once in eternity not getting a free kick (probably because the umpires are jack of it).

    The panel then said things like “you’ve been doing it since you were a junior so it’s not your fault” and “it’s not ducking” during which Selwood looked visibly uncomfortable even with all the excuses being made for him. Selwood then stumbled through a series of unconvincing and unrelated words that barely formed a sentence.

    I suppose watching himself play for a free kick on national TV would be enough to stun him into gibberish.

  6. Have enjoyed watching Selwood choke and stumble on Talking Footy as he tries to defend his arm raises and ducking.

    I’m surprised he doesn’t have a well worn list of cliche answers to conjure up when asked about it.

    He did eventually manage to change the subject to Tom Mitchell by mumbling something about angles.

    On any match day, who sits in the box with Goodwin? (His name simply underlines irony every time I read it). Is Craig Jennings there? I was led to believe he had considerable footy smarts. How much input do the underlings actually have on game day? The senior coach looking gobsmacked when there's a run against  us is a real concern.

    Interesting question. I note that in some of the very high end membership packages there is the option to tack on a Coaches Box experience (at a significant cost).

    If I was filthy rich I’d certainly be laying down the cash just to see what the flip goes down in a coaches box during a game.

    Of course I would be ejected from the box in whatever quarter we let the opposition get a run on. It’s pretty much a certainty (the ejection and the opposition run on).

    Re the Salem incident.  He seemed to land on his back - did anyone notice if his head also hit the deck?  He looked out cold and didn't move for quite a few seconds.   With his concussion history he should have been taken off and checked.  Given that he had no touches after the incident suggests his head or his back weren't right.  I wouldn't be surprised if he is out vs Brisbane injured/hurt.

    As and aside why didn't a trainer go to him to check him or help him up?  Very odd. Doubly odd that none of his teammates went to his aid either.

    I can confirm with absolute certainty that when Salem went down a trainer was almost immediately on the scene. When he failed to move for several seconds the trainer lifted their right arm and signalled to the Melbourne bench.

    The Doctor and Physio then both took off from the bench straight to Salem. The Doctor opened up a fair lead on the Physio despite looking less likely.

    By the time the Doctor arrived Salem was on his feet and walking back to take his free kick. The Doctor stood approximately 5 metres behind Salem over the boundary and then waited for him to kick the ball. Salem ran on after the kick.

    At this stage I was watching the play further up the field and I did not see what happened next.

    I trust the above provides some additional clarity.

    According to Channel 7 , we did not arrive on the ground, because they only showed Geelong ( sorry, Ablett and Selwood). Then when the game finished the throw was straight to the news or in the case of Foxtel to their "playpen" show.

    Surely we can request a proper media coverage of MFC games. Last year at the 3 p.m. Sunday game Foxtel at least stayed on air for a post game summary.

    Apart from that 2nd Quarter we were very competitive. Both sides made mistakes (i.e. Menzel's miss) but at least we did not get blown away when we were down. Players like Harmes and Wagner improved massively in the 2nd half.  Omac held the beast well today , but Lever seemed to lack the strength to compete against the bigger opponents. I thought Hibberd was a very good interceptor last year.

    Hurry back TMac, Jack and Gus.

    Oliver & Petracca are maturing ( Remember they were up against Selwood, Ablett ( a pretty handy combination . How come Kelly got under the radar of our WA Scout !!! Not once, but many times.

    And at half time at the ground they showed an Ablett highlights package on the big screen.

    It was our home game! What the eff is that about?!?

    They didn't even show the two occasions that he got pinged for holding the ball.

    The encroachment of the mark is RED HOT.  Dees need to pay attention to this rule of the week - we cant be giving the [censored] 50 m for nothing.

    I don't think our players watch other games because we invariably do whatever is the infringement of the week the next day.

    You'd think because we play predominantly on Sundays we'd have plenty of time to figure out the rule of the week.

    Has anyone seen him close up in person?  I haven't, I'd love to know how big he looks up close.

    I have a photo of myself and my daughter at the Family Day with Petracca however I dare not post it lest your screen explode from the awesomeness.

    I will say that he appears to have found a good balance in size for his height and I expect him to break some games wide open this season.
