We didn't trade him out. It wasn't a decision the club made. Cannot fathom how anyone would think losing Frawley to a mechanism we have no control over and getting pick 3 for him is a bad result.
Exactly, couldn't agree more
true but both options are far from certain.
I am hoping to pop champagne corks over the Frawley trade - but I need a couple of seasons to get the champers nice and chilled and ensure it is a good vintage
I am already poppping! A nice Veuve Cliquot Vintage 1990

You started off well there, I could here a symphony playing, but then the harp strings broke!

Enjoy!
Not really what I had in mind!

Out of interest, anyone here still wish we had Frawley instead of pick 3?
Absolutely not! As I have said before he was a good defender but dipsosal was shite!
I'm officially going on the record to say the following players will be busts:
Brayshaw (a year older than most of his TAC cup teammates who didn't have the distractions of yr 12 last year, will also be found out, I fear he could be the biggest bust of the whole draft if he goes high)
Petracca (a man child that I think will be found out playing with real men)
Laverde (not sure why, call it gut feel)
Wright (not competitive enough)
McCartin (dunno, the diabetes thing maybe an issue)
Lever (already done knee, risky proposition)
As picks 2 & 3 are likely to come out of this crop, I think our trend of dud high picks will continue this year. Bring on picks 40 and 53 though!
We have noted that, but I feel you have a slight problem.

Anyway, he is gone and now we move on. I am surprised he got a game at all as seemed fairly lost out on the field.

When did Silvia do this???
So see's him as an average WAFL player...
I think he was taking the pizz!
-
I feel bad for not caring, but I really wasn't all that excited about his prospects.
Same here!

In your drunken case Clit - it is better to STFU!!
Come on, thought I was just starting to get interesting!

Just woken up Clit?
Always awake. These drugs help.

Last year this time around we were all certain we had Nathan Freeman on board.
A week to go till the draft and word came we had cooled on him and were set to pick Salem.
I have said before, no one is locked in at pick 2 or 3 until basically the last 48 hours to go.
Alot of water to flow under the bridge.
Correct! But all we can do is report here what we hear. And just because someone says they have an "inside" source doesn't mean its any more credible than a "golf buddy" (who I may say has connections on the interior - wooooooooooo). The club change their mind just like anyone. is it better we say nothing at all when we hear it, or just report once its in the papers?
-
We obviously want pick 53 or PSD2, who's available?
-
Probably just mispelt the name. Actually reminds me, I knew a girl called Fanny once

Certainly gives something to talk about when there is nothing to talk about! Someone has to ask Hird "The Meaning of Life!" (No Monty Python puns please!).

Lever is an outright NO for me.
Talent wise no, I can rate three other draftees as higher.
Position wise no, large backmen can be picked up later in the draft - like ruckmen. We also have McDonald, Frost, Dunn, and Garland to cover that role.
2014 output (or lack of), an absolute no. Due to injury why risk him along with the above.
If we want to take a punt or risk on someone with prior injury it should be Cockatoo. If he played that one game on a consistent basis he'd be in everyone's top two or three equations. He's also a midfielder and more likely to succeed at the next level (injuries aside). I'm betting he'll be the one everyone complains about not picking.
But Lever.... an outright NO!
Would you be happy with Scott Pendlebury as he is similar height and supposedly similar style?
-
No, I was just getting a new conversation going!
-
Gee we really are scraping the barrel for conversation on here!

Your record in trade period wasn't that much flash I believe.
I still highly doubtful that the club has already nominated a player for pick 3. We are still three weeks away from the draft. We have all seen in the past that the couple of days beforehand gets pretty hectic with clubs changing player options and making a late bid on players.
Lever or McCartin are definitely not a certain for pick 3. Simple.
Not for want of trying. Can't help it if other clubs don't do what we wanted to do!
-
The only thing I know for sure in this whole episode, is that you are either right or wrong. Simple really.
Am sitting back happy about that rtight now!
Na, just need us to not draft Lever lol.
You will be disappointed then!
