  1. I don't think Sydney want a ruckman as they have Pyke and Tippet. They may want a young ruckman but that's about it.

Tippet is not a main tap ruckman though! He is a forward ruckman. A ruckman would most definitely be involoved if this dream trade was to come true1 Once upon a time.......

  2. My source has confirmed that Roos is having a crack for Kennedy with pick 9 and a player, however, he thought the likelihood of success at less than 30%.

He also said that this had come out of left field. As widely reported in the press MFC traded out for pick 2 for 9 as they were certain that one of the "ready made" players they would like to pick would still be available at 9. Therefore we essentially got Tyson for effectively nothing. MFC believe there is very little between pick 2 & 11 in this years draft.

Kennedy would be a mega coup.

Player? Sydney would need a ruck I guess (with Mumford and White gone) so Jamar? Spencer?

  3. So far what you have opened with back in September has come to fruition.

I like what I'm hearing, reading and viewing of him but that's all I have to go on.

Maybe it's not all wishful thinking on your behalf as you've previously stated.

    Edit:

Really looks impressive, I guess the question is will he still be available at p9?

Especially since the Pies are very keen! Picks 2 to 10 will be a lotto with a few surprises!

  4. With the free agency and trade period having already delivered four midfielders to date and another seemingly on the way via draft pick 9, I think its time to look around for a dangerous crumbing forward either through what's left of trading, delisted free agents or the draft.

We have Shannon Byrnes but his best days are in the past. I think we would definitely cap off our efforts if we could find a player capable of kicking goals on a regular basis at the feet of Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Howe but who can we chase?

I think back to the days when Jeff Farmer was at his best roaming the forward line and causing havoc. He turned us from also rans into a formidable team back at the turn of the century. A player of his ilk would be handy to say the least.

And one Dale Garlett comes to mind!

  5. It's always smart policy to bring in a good mix of players and given our weakness in the midfield, it stands to reason that we should continue to look to midfield types but with some flexibility. If Freeman is what he's cooked up to be, he would be a good choice but equally, a player like Marcus Bontempelli would make sense if he's available at number 9.

Said to now be 194cm tall and with great running ability, he not only fits the bill as a midfield prospect but could also grow into a KPP. Now before I get howled down on this point, I have in the corner of my mind the thought that someone with the capacity to do so, could tempt James Frawley with a free agency offer he can't refuse and we need insurance for that eventuality. So why not a growing tall mid who could one day play key back or forward (possibly releasing Jesse Hogan to CHB where he has done well as a junior)?

It's always been important to have versatile players and I think we would be wise to think in those terms with what is now our only remaining big pick.

Probably the reason also that the Pies are keen on him. Maxwell has how many years left?

  6. B: Colin Garland James Frawley Jack Grimes

HB: Viv Michie Tom Mcdonald Bernie Vince

C: Daniel Cross Nathan Jones Dom Tyson

HF: Jeremy Howe Mitch Clark Jack Trengove

F: Michael Evans Jesse Hogan Jack Fitpatrick

FOL: Mark Jamar Jack Watts Jack Viney

I/C: Jordie Mckenzie Jimmy Toumpas Chris Dawes

    SUB: Sam Blease

Apologies to: Mitch Clisby, Lyndon Dunn, Dean Kent, Matt Jones, Dean Terlich, Max Gawn, Jake Spencer and anyone else I've forgotten!

  7. This item was from March 2013. Times have changed at the Swans. This does not exclude a trade at all, particularly if Kennedy is as [censored] off with the Buddy deal as has been reported.

Yes but everyone is delusional if they think Sydney would trade their gun midfielder (if the rumour was true) to us for pick 9! We would need to give up players (good) as well!

  8. I haven't has time to look at all the clips, but I liked the looks of:

Bontempelli - seems to have the ball on a string, and a good left foot kick

Koladjashnij - imaging having a tall left footed HB who can actually kick with precision? Could play off HB or through the guts I reckon. Tasmanian. so no return home factor. :-)

Yes, (KK) looks a fantastic kid! Can see why the Dees have him in their sights also!

  9. Contracts aren't an impediment to trading if all parties are agreable. Just mentioning

Yes but would find it difficult to see them trading out a player they only just signed for 4 years! And depending on who you believe, the Buddy deal was done last year, right?

  10. Fitzpatrick being asked about by an interstate team with possible pick in 30's ????????????

Rumour from a very well known restaurant owner only!

Although as I have said elsewhere I will be shocked if we go into next year with Jamar, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Spencer on our list...so one still to go?

  11. Kennedy at Melbourne= Jaded is one step closer to complete euphoria

Must snap out of this delusion. No way would he leave/Sydney let him go/we can satisfy Sydney in a trade

Only signed for another 4 years earlier this year! Sorry to burst bubbles but nice rumour!

  12. I know they're highlights packages but I found the Freeman video a bit underwhelming. Good speed but just seems to run (granted quite fast) sometimes into then out of trouble and jam it on the boot. Did not show him winning the ball well or showing good decision making or really even looking that balanced as a running mid.

I found the Lennon video the most satisfying of the players that could be around the mark of our pick. Good size, decent speed, well weighted kicks, showed clean hands and decision making.

Hey but I wasn't impressed with Hogan in the champs so what would I know :)

Hmmm Lennon to the Dees? ...Imagine

  13. Come on! Selective memory!

Moloney WAS and IS a consummate spud. He was nothing but a selfish meathead.

Look at how well he has gone at Brisbane.

Good at one thing and one thing alone - if the ball is rammed down his throat by Jamar at a stoppage, he can bullock his way through a pack before slamming the ball on his boot indiscriminately.

He got a lot of the ball that way, but rarely found it in open play.

Horrible defensively, poor agility meant he had a hard time sticking a tackle, and his name and the phrase "footy smarts" have never been used in the same sentence. He's somewhat of a leader, but a negatively influencing leader.

He was a long straight kick, but he was no great talent when it came to spotting up a target.

Some positives, but so many negatives that people gleefully overlooked because he was getting his hands on the pill.

Trust me, most other teams noticed and were happy to let him get it, adding to his false economy.

It's no coincidence that in 2010 when we smashed Sydney by 70 odd points that Moloney was out of the side.

Or that he was stinking it up in the middle during 186.

Rivers has a degenerative knee condition, and the club knowing this offered him peanuts.

He gets a game at Geelong, but they need to nurse him through the season to have him right for finals.

    And it's only getting worse.

And how about Moloney ordering his mate Jamar to only tap to him?

Doesn't make Jamar look great either, but did that give any other mid half a chance?

I can't believe those that have some insight into the inner workings of the club, yet fail to realise what a cancer Moloney was.

Hit the nail on the head there Machsy! Seriously spat the dummy when Neeld decided that he wouldn't be the only one getting the "Jamar ball!" Glad he is gone and other than one good game against us.....?
