  1. You never answerd my question in where is your proof that he is 185cm tall.

So again where is your proof..?

Ah I have stood next to him for one, I am 186 and he was basically the same size. Also if you have listened to Kevin Sheehan he has said that he has grown 3cm since those stats were printed earlier in the year!

  2. Not worthy of pick 9 and unlikely to be available at pick 40, how exactly would the "gamble on Garlett" happen?

If we can get him at pick 40, great! And its a gamble on attitude. If not available, oh well!

  3. No idea who Ergo may be.... but if you look it up in a dictionary, you will find that "ergo" also means "therefore"... hence (also another word meaning therefore), the use of therefore in place of wherefore.

I am I said. Nice song but am still confused!

    I think Ergo I am.

The original is always the best BBO

  4. Here are a few profiles of possible pick 9's from the Inside Footy draft guide....

    Nathan Freeman Sandringham Dragons 16/6/95 H: 182cm W: 85kg

Like Josh Kelly, he took the combine by storm not only with his testing but with his personality he was up and about all week. His personality is a bit like the way he plays its up and about and sometimes a bit in your face, but in a good way, but I think hes exciting and we are going to be talking about him in the next few years at AFL level taking the game on and doing really well. Hes got that electric burst of speed but has also worked very hard on his endurance and has firmed right into a possible first round pick chance as he plays football for the current day AFL like a Luke Shuey or even a Daniel Kerr. Sandringham region manager Ryan OConnor

    DRAFT RANGE: Top 10

    Matthew Scharenberg Glenelg 18/9/95 H: 190cm W: 89kg

An elite player. It was unfortunate that he hurt his foot and didnt play a lot of football late in the year after playing a great Under 18s national carnival. Just finds the footy really well, read the game brilliantly playing as a key defender in the Under 18s and played in the back pocket in the seniors for us. He is elusive, doesnt get caught often and makes great decisions. His skill is improving and hes a long kick but needs to keep working on his short options and hitting those regularly. A great ability to know when to defend and when to attack and is just clever with what he does. Hes a great size for his position and he understands where hes at with his footy in terms of not getting ahead of himself. Keen in the gym and keen on the track hes going to be a beauty. After what he did at the carnival the feeling was he is a top five draft selection. Glenelg football manager Ken Applegarth

    DRAFT RANGE: Top 10

Chr*st! Freeman is now 185cm! Doesn't anyone listen! He will be number 9. All the info flowing through from other clubs is that he WILL be available and we WILL pick him. Now i am calm, got the cup trifecta on a mystery bet and just sobering!

  5. Interesting article and it would indicate that we will be looking at someone like Acres 189/84, Sheed 184/83 or Freman 181/85.

Either that or he is trying to spook Collingwood in to taking Freeman at 6 and we snap up Bontempelli at 9 or vise versa.

Freeman is 185, they are old stats. He will be a great pickup!

  6. If you look at the chat on the AFL site, they have rated us 4th for cushy draw. Obviously this is focused more on the chances to win games than to make money, but it seems that from that perspective we have been given a gift. However we have been given far too many Sunday fixtures, including the totally dead time slot of Sunday Twilight, and no Friday fixtures at all. If they want to talk about equalisation n the competition then they need to give every team one home fixture on a Friday night and then reward the best performed sides with the extra six. As it stands, they gave Carlton (a mediocre side) four Friday home games while letting the teams that actually need to the financial assist to rot in purgatory. They can't even claim that the games are going to the better sides or the bigger crowds, because they have only given the reigning premiers one Friday home game as well. Meanwhile along with Carlton we see Geelong (who are fading) and Richmond (who might be on the rise) as the next best-loved with three each.

Basically, while we can't complain about the draw in terms of winnable games, we are being clearly shown that the AFL are going to keep on helping their special buddies and shafting the rest when it comes to the best timeslots to pull crowds and make a few dollars.

And hence no-one can complain about the equalisation money given to us and other clubs!

  7. I don't understand this... sure, I agree that we should not be playing home games at Etihad and I believe that Etihad is a dangerous ground with regards to a high risk of leg/knee injuries, but since we are playing there, why would people not go? It's convenient to transport, relatively comfortable and to get the the heart of the matter, when we go to watch a game, we go to support our team, not to critique the ground and its amenities. If anyone has cause for complaint, I would say it's the players, not the supporters.

Having said that, I haven't attended a game there (my comments are garnered from other people and from seeing it on TV)... so what exactly is the problem from a spectator's point of view?

Its interesting! I have been once (and we won!) but just didn't like it! I don't know if it feels claustrophobic, or whether it just isn't our home (spiritual) ground but I won't go again. Anyone else feel the same?

  8. Pies believe that Bontempelli won't be available at pick 10. That from an [censored] mate who is Pie through and through and part of cheer squad!

Going a little far with the censorship guys if a person of diminshed intelligence is considered censored? (and not the one ending with ...wit)

  9. I'm a bit suspicious about Collingwood's intent with pick 6. Logic would dictate that they want someone at 6 who they didn't think would make it to pick 10. This leaves only us and the Lions with picks in between. Bontempelli has been talked up as a top 6 selection recently but I think that is only due to Collingwood's "reported interest" and personally I think he will still be there at 10. Therefore, through nothing but gut feel, I think they would be targeting either Scharenberg or Freeman with pick 6.
