I reckon a lot of people were realistically more excited about the twos vs the ones until the result.

I'd swap Sparrow and Melksham. Langford and Lindsay both deserve more credit.

He's 25 actually so at least if you are going to have a dip, get it right. Perhaps mature aged recruit would suit better?

And get Fullarton in. I know the word is he can't ruck, but neither can Roo and I'd rather have Roo happy as a leading forward working on his craft then worrying about backing up Max poorly. Fullarton can back up Max poorly, add some height to the forward line and be a foil for Roo and Jeffo when he returns from injury. Then Fritsch can actually be a mobile medium forward, trac and kozz and chin can roam the drop of the ball and the forward line might work. Or get AJ back in as the second ruck/forward, the old bloke can actually ruck a bit.

Unless Jeffo has recovered from his hand injury he won't be in. Fullerton can kick another 10 in the next 3 game and he won't get a game because Goody hates him for some reason, Disco might get a chance.

We played Roo, Jeffo and AJ in week 1. Kicked our highest score for the year and only got rolled by 3 points and unlucky to lose that. Imahine if we had of had Kozzie in we would have won easily. Since then we've continually dropped a tall each week until now we are down to 1 (Jeffo is still injured in believe?), Melksham still getting a game for some unknown reason and the other two talls in Fullarton and AJ can't get a game because.... We are in for an awful night tonight, the team selection is so unbalanced. Doesn't matter how bad essendon are on paper, we won't connect forward of centre and fail to score more than 8 goals for the game. Happy to be proven wrong but can't see it happening.

Fullarton has kicked 10 goals in 3 games at VFL level. He has been leading high and creating scores when not deep forward and playing really well. If that isn't enough to warrant a look in when we have no other tall forwards to take pressure off Roo (who now has to play back up ruck and singular key forward in a forward line that is getting the worst delivery in the league) then what point is there in producing solid, good form in the 2s? There's no reward because Goodwin can't get his rose tinted glasses off and actually drop underperforming "stars". Since the flag we have recruited players from other teams on the basis on a fair shot at senior football, promised them the world then dumped them in the VFL and left them to rot. Grundy, Fullarton, Campbell, Dunstan, Billings to name a few. We are going to run Gawn into the ground well before kings birthday, trac is already frustrated, Roo will end up a wreck like Watts with no support. Time to get rid of Goodwin, thank him for his effort and try and salvage the season and put a plan into place going forward.

We'll lose Lever and Jeffo this week to injury at a minimum. May won't be back this week, neither will Windsor, leaving us woefully shallow depth wise. To add to that, you only have to look at our record when Tomlinson played over the last couple of seasons. Between 2021 and 2023 he played in 21 wins and 5 losses.

Richmond have fleece Freo in this deal. And have so much flexibility now with this and the expected GC trade for Rioli. Crazy good draft hand.

I'm still confused how we are getting our pick back we traded last year for McAdam. Regardless of the number (25,28 whatever), it's still our 2nd round pick. According to the multiple versions of the AFL trade rules (9.7) that ive read, clubs can't directly trade out a pick and then trade it back in from the same club that it went to so how can this be possible without a third party touching that pick first?

And you know this how exactly

Correct me if I'm wrong but they can't send our own pick back to us would have to be a different 2nd rounder

Brisbane have released a statement saying he wants to go back to the Hawks. Assuming the Hawks want him back and can do a deal to satisfy Brisbane that is.

I'd be keen, would add a different dimension to the forward line, some hardness and precision and experience, 2 years ala jordan lewis style, not huge money and a late pick, for the right price there's upside there
