  1. Is Heritier there? I thought I saw a news grab on ch7 last night of him back at the club.
  2. So different to the Mitch Clark, Dawes and even Lumumba trades where we get a decent player not just because we are throwing heaps of cash at them. A great day for us. Lewis will bring much needed support for Nathan Jones and I reckon it will also help Viney
  3. Worth a rookie spot. I would also look at James Stewart from GWS. Whatever we do, we need someone. Spencer was great when we beat the Cats last year, but since then he has been ordinary. Minson and Campbell killed him in the GF.
  4. I spoke with H at the Casey vs Williamstown game. It was good to see him there supporting the boys. He told me that the concussion issues were all gone and that he will definitely be back in 2017. Jayden Hunt is a younger, better version of H and with Hibberd coming in I don't know where there is a spot for him unless it's in the back pocket. I'd still rather have him than Mitch Clark who we effectively swapped him for.
  5. Agree - cannot work out what Dunn has done so wrong. Roos made him Vice Captain and now refuses to play him - maybe he has had a crack at Tammie. Starting to remind me of when Daniher wouldn't play Lamb.
  6. I didn't see the incident where he was concussed, does anyone know what happened? I am also a bit worried that he is listed as indefinite. I hope he hasn't lost the passion to play.

  8. Really???? It's posts like this that remind me why I shouldn't read this absolute drivel. He has been very good. Apart from denigrating a player, have a look at the game he plays. Oh, I forgot, Roos knows absolutely nothing about player value, that's why Dunn is Vice Captain. Don't bother replying, you morons who bag our players, this will be the last time I visit this site. Next time you look in the mirror, have the guts to ask yourself how many pre seasons you did. How many times you played a sport with injury. How many sprains, breaks and bruises you've had. How many times your body has been buffeted by blokes bigger than you, and what does Dunn do? Commit to the club. Stop kidding yourselves that you know anything about the game let alone our players.
  9. A kid at school asked me today who my favourite player was - I said Vanders. Tough, tackles like a machine, relishes the opportunity to pull on a jumper and is fearless. Matt Jones - would not have been my choice. Juice Newton would have been or the Stretch boy.
  10. Did anyone listen to Jim Tilbrook last night on SEN with Finey? It was great listening. On Robbie Flower's debut at Geelong, Jim kicked 6 and Glenn Swan kicked 8! I wonder what happened to Swann - he only played one year for us. Does anyone know? Tilbrook played in 5 premierships before coming to us. My vague and distant best memory is one day on the G before a game, he was having shots at goal and roosted one with a torpedo from a very long way out.
  11. Good to hear that Beamer and Col were there. If we got Roos after Bailey instead of Neeld, Beamer would have stayed. Not sure if anyone would have got the best out of Col, but it would have been good to see him for a couple of years under Roos and George Stone.
  12. 1. My dad got off a boat from Italy in the mid fifties, when all the Italians went to Carlton, he liked the MCG and started taking me there in 1969. 2. Very first favourite was probably Gary Hardeman. Just loved his marking and dash across half back. Should never have left us midway through his career and gone to S.A. 3. In Feb 2007, my six and a half year old son was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. We asked for the WIZ to come into the RCH. He did. I asked him to dedicate his first goal of 1997 to Joshua. We played the Kangaroos on the Thursday before Good Friday - round one of that year. Kangaroos coming off a premiership. At the first bounce, Stynes taps the ball, Lyon gathers, handballs to Wiz who goals. Wiz pumps the air like we asked him to. Josh was there with me. Best moment ever. We only won three more games that year, making that round one victory more miraculous. My son is now 24 and follows the Dees 4. Worst moments? I was there for 186 and 148 against Geelong and Essendon. Schwarz's knee, Jimmy's death, getting smashed in two Grand Finals. Hard to pick one, but I'd probably go Brock McLean and the tanking saga. 5. Whatever happens, I am rusted on. A 39 year consecutive member (I will be 52 on Thursday) I will NEVER stop supporting our club
  13. I usually pre-empt my posts with 'I rarely post" however, some of the comments on here, particularly this thread border on the ridiculous. Leigh Matthews said yesterday that the BIGGEST problem facing clubs is lack of inside fifties and then scoring from those inside fifties. We won the inside fifty count and just kicked badly. We have won games in the last two years where the opposition kicked badly, had many more inside fifties and lost - Essendon being the classic example in 2014. Twenty five shots at goal not counting two or three out on the full is good. What lost us the game was really poor forward pressure and poor forward set up. No changes for mine. Unless some of the youngsters are battered and bruised, keep the team as is.
  14. I am a very infrequent poster on Demonland. One thing I would say is that I would definitely give Cross one more year. I said to him today that I would like to see him run around again. He said to me "Tell Roosy". He is keen. It worries me a lot that Vandenberg says that Cross is the most professional person at the club. It does not say a lot for anyone else there. Cross is definitely worth another contract, even if he plays 11 games at Casey and 11 with the Seniors. We still need good solid citizens and blokes who don't panic. It was his kick last year to Salem that won us the game against Essendon.
  15. The fact is that most good teams have an absolute gun forward and another very capable forward. Cloke and White. Franklin and Tippett. Roughhead and Gunston. Pavlich and Taberner, Kennedy and Darling, Cameron and McCarty, Taylor Walker and Jenkins etc etc That's why Geelong went after Clark. Hawkins and Clark fit and firing makes it tough for any backline. We have a 20 year old gun forward and Chris Dawes. We need another forward. Pederson isn't the answer, Watts will never be a key forward. When we were decent, we had Neitz, Schwarz and Robbo, all dangerous. Having said all of that, when was the last time we kicked 18 goals at any game, let alone at the cattery. What we need is a strong forward and continuing to expect/demand that wingers and midfielders kick goals.
