How is Sylvia looking? I have not heard to much about him this pre-season. I hope he isn't taking it too easy.

I can actually see the forward line looking something like this Petterd Watts Howe Jurrah Clark Davey/Jetta I really think Petterd and Davey/Jetta are needed for the defensive pressure. I really cant see guys like Green and Sylvia keeping the ball in the forward 50. Jetta has shown he has good defensive pressure, so his place may depend on how Davey goes at this.

Trengove did say in an interview he was willing to play in any position the club required of him. Maybe im over analyzing it but perhaps he was suggesting also that he would be willing to play any role (captain) the club required of him. dosnt seem like the type of guy who would overthink it and let it bring down his game to be honest.

im gonna say green will be named captain with grimes and trengove as vice to give them a year more experience before stepping up. then Neeld will decide between Trengove and Grimes in a year once he knows them better and once he sees if Grimes can stay in the park.

one player who was picked up to bring structure to the whole forward line and be the focal point. the speed and height that will be inside the forward 50 is gonna b huge

wonder how neeld will play it, maybe he ll go for a pagans paddock setup, bomb it to clark and then have watts jurrah davey blease green howe all running through to collect and goal

i think it probably has stopped him from kicking alot of potential goals that he could have gotten if he wasnt injured

Jurrah does seem to be the most fragile of the forwards though...

Hey all, as you know we do seem to have a real powerful forward line this year. I wanted to know who you guys think would be Melbourne's highest goal kicker for 2012. I am going to take a punt and go with Howe at this point. What do you guys think?

My money would be on one of the South Australian clubs forcing the hand.

it would be extremely interesting if another team passes up a really good player to try to get melb to use there first pick on Jack, and then the dees end up not taking jack and opt to take the other player instead

Does that mean that compo/priority picks cant be used by other teams to force us to use a first rounder ahead of our first round pick (s)?

if it is contagious then they are going to have to do some serious quarantining of that certain bloke. At least him being in blacktown is already enough quarantining for the other clubs to feel safe

for a demon to win it would mean that the dees are travelling pretty solidly and to me thats a good thing regardless of what people rate the award as and u never know what can happen in the afl, who knows, maybe morton will have a break out year......
