  1. overall i think its to late to come to any conclusions on anything, most the kids still have a majority of there most important year of junior footy ahead of them (Except Viney who is injured) Once this plays out GWS and GC may be frothing at the mouth of specific kids to think elsewise. the depressing part is that this is one of the longest threads so far for the year and the kid isnt even drafted yet. Hope its not the best part of the MFCs year...the draft
  2. my question is, would u rather pay $5 for a junior burger or $5 for a big mac could come down to this
  3. yeh no problem if he is the best available. if he isnt is when questions will be raised. alot of names are going to be thrown into the mix between now and the draft.
  4. You would take him if there is an obvious better kid available? Glad u arnt on the recruiting team.
  5. Not impossible, just foolish. end of the day if his the best player available at our pick, take him. If he isn't then take the damn kid who is the best player at our pick!
  6. Many people have said we should take him at our highest pick, implying that if we finish last we should take him at #1. (Even though it would really make no sense to) and in 6 weeks is half the season not over? include the few weeks it takes to get back into it and we will be midway through July. and yes he has been in the system for ever how long, so like i said, if he is the best available at our first pick then take him. If he isn't regardless of if his had 2 yrs in the system or training with seniors ect then they should take who is the best. I would rather a kid who is better without 2 years in the system then the one who isn't the better player and has been in the system for 2 years. Ie: I would rather a Trent Cotchin who hasn't had 2 years in the system over a Cale Morton who has
  7. MFC should take the best players possible with there picks in the draft. End of story. Recruiters have the onus of responsibility to do so for there members, regardless if it be Melbourne, GWS or Collingwood. MFC have been at the bottom of the ladder for years and i wouldn't accept them selecting anything less then the best, regardless of who it is.
  8. that training drill u talk about, could that have possibly been Vineys Vacuum?
  9. every1 here seems to think jack will be a #1 draft pick even though he is missing half this season due to injury. dnt get me wrong, i think he ll be good to the team, i just dont think we should pay overs though and fold to GWS coz the kids 'been around the club' we should take the best kid available, regardless. If its viney then sure, if its not then we should take whoever is the best.
  10. simple, call the bluff if needed. could end up with lauchie whitfield, which is a win. theyd be screwing themselves over and not taking an onus on there responsibility. id hate to be a member for GWS if they bid on Viney
  11. love the 'lets giv em more time' attitude that 90% of posters have here. no wonder we are looking at 0-11 perfect attitude to get u no where
  12. GC looks like they are going to win, so now we are on track for pick #2 and #3. Shouldn't be to tough making sure just GWS dosnt make the bid, just pass them Sylvia for a round 6 pick
  13. He had the silk today, just not the aggresion i thiught, and isnt that the whole reason he is back in the VFL
  14. Season will be half over becore viney is back. Only a fool would use a pick 1 or 2 on him now.
  15. Vineys was fair, first game and a crude bump. Was hard to avoid. Gysberts on the other hand i noticed dosnt seem to brace the best for oncomming collision. Not sure of he sees them coming or not.
  16. He constantly criticizes my posts with no grounds or construction to the conversation. Needed to be said. Im at the game and saw what happened.
  17. A. His head wasnt over the ball when it happened B. i said "maybe", dnt see how its having a go at him, simply identifying a possible weakspot in his game C. U really think its "bad luck" that the same players keep getting constant injuries? Yeah ok mate U really make unconstructive posts sometimes boss, please think before posting
  18. How did cook, blease and petterd go today
  19. Maybe gysberts needs to learn how to protect himself better. Maybe he has crap awareness and never braces for bumps and crashes well...
  20. GWS can be bought out with a dozen meat pies for phil, won't be an issue GC are more sensible and wouldn't risk high for a small reward
  21. So what would u guys think is a fair trade for Watts? just want to see peoples thoughts on something 'fair' I know it won't happen but i am curious on where people would think he would rate at the trade tables Mid teens pick in this years draft? Could we get a player like Betts from a trade? Keen on peoples thoughts on a realistic Watts trade (Even though it won't happen)
  22. Watts probably did, thats why he got omitted
  23. Thats not allowed, if anything is drawn up and signed before trade period then its against regulation. And if they break the deal, then they lose there #1 and #3 draft pick as it would need to be broken in the bidding.
  24. Make the deal, then in trade period, when we go into the rooms with GWS, have nothing but a big meat pie and a peice of paper with Scullys name onit. Then as he goes for the pie, grab it, eat it and walk out without saying a word. Justice Then go on to draft pick 3 , 4 , 12, Viney, and a solid 3rd rounder
