  1. How is it the worst post possible?

A: Watts is still just potential, which nobody on this forum seems to even know where he should play. Forward line dosnt really need him with Clarke, Jurrah, Howe, Green, Sylvia, Tmac ect nor does he really fit into the midfield.

B: Everybody knows we need an elite mid fielder and to get one you need currency, in this trade the currency is potential. I would take a guarantee over potential anyday.

C: The Dees don't owe him anything, and by holding onto him his currency could go down as years pass. If the dees want something they need to offer something and a hardline approach is needed.

Theoretically would you decline a Watts for Pendlebury trade?

Well i thought this post was a joke. I try hard not to get upset but im sorry this is bad we just lost a number 1 draft pick who we put 2 years of training into only to have him stolen and now you want to throw away another really ? We already have put 3 years in with this kid as a number 1 pick as a tall forward who all good judges no take time and he has elite skills and a great footy brain james hird like and to solve our mid problem you say trade him he is only potential im really amazed at this comment lets solve a problem by making another problem this kid will be a MFC champion and if you ever want to trade for a gun mid we have 40 other players and 2 compo picks but not our last number 1 pick please if you dont like watts or cant see he is a keeper just wait another 12-18 months and talk to me. And yes i would love pendlebury but not for the 2008 number 1 draft pick. some watts bashers will eat there words very soon.

  2. I was born in '63 BJ so i am in the dark as much as you, my Dad saw heaps of flags from '48 onwards and says the old Long Room Bar would just "Go Off" & he would get home...sometime monday! So when we win 13-14-15 i intend to uphold family traditions.

Mate i hope to share one or two cold beers with you there when it happens im a trident member but my father and my par are m.c.c members and my par has told me some great storys about the good old days. He also still goes down to the m.c.c with my nan every home game and is now 88 years old but he thinks the team coming through now will get us there which makes me smile because his been watching all our sides for a long time now and he really rates this team coming through. We have a great history at the MFC

  3. John Beckwith looks great, as does Ron. Geez i hope we get serious action whilst these legends are still with us to savour it.

HI wyl if you dont mind me asking did you have the chance to see the likes of these guys or our flags? If so can you give me any inside to what it was like to be a demon in them glory days for our club. Cheers

  4. Just got my sister and dad signed up as trident members for the first time my dad is a m.c.c so has never wanted to have both but i put my foot down and it payed off and my sister is a first time member after being just a fan for 20 years so im very happy to have got some new members on board.

I feel good today like i have done a bit to help the club

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON FROM ALL DEMONS FANS AND THANKYOU for all you have done for this great club you are a true legend.

  6. Good post thomo i really think that moloney could hit elite status this year i know some think he is a flat track bully on here but if melbourne get better then so will moloney i really could see him being top 3 in the brownlow this year he looks very fit and we know he has alot of guts so i think of all our current mids he is the best chance of being a real A grade mid this year and he might just have a real cracker of a season.

  7. This is what the site is all about everyone having there say its not that dunn is a whiping boy its just his form has not been great we all hope for him to make it but the form of last year puts him on notice. And if he want to get another contract he must earn it. plus it is still feb and we need some footy talk

  8. I have got to say that out of all three of them fighting for a spot it seems neeld really has a soft spot for couch he did do some good things but i think the other two are ahead in my thinking but just have a feeling that neeld might put couch in one of the spots. but lucky we might have three spots

  9. Going on past history I put us down for 3 wins...In four years we have only managed to beat Tigers and Bombers in Melbourne...plus a few interstate teams...

    Brisbane at the G WIN

    WCE in Perth Loss

    Tigers at the G Win

    Bulldogs at the G Loss

    Saints at the G Loss

    Geelong in Mordor Loss

    Hawthorn at the G Loss

    Sydney in Sydney Loss

    Carlton at the G Loss

    Essendon at the G Win

    Collingwood at the G Loss

Is anyone able to fault my logic?

Yes your logic is wrong in my view Bulldogs are going down not up and the saint have also had there chance and sydney never give it to us last 2 games with the swans was a draw and the other we smash them. But everyone has there own view

  10. Good skills, good balance, good footy mind, he should be better than he is.

Sometimes you get an A Rod, sometimes you get a Billy Beane.

    That's a baseball reference.

Yes he was a bit up and down but shows some good run going forward and not a bad kick on the run i would love to know what went on there because he was the one to put his hand up and say he wants out . Was it he did not get a good run or did not get along with boys or was he told by the club he is not in the plans going forward anyone?

  11. Dunn is going to have to really put his hand up this year he was good in 2010 for a few games but just has not had a great impact for a guy who has been in the system for a while.I got to meet him at the best and fairest and is a top guy but that does not get you games of football under neeld. His upside is that he has a good long kick for goal but just needs to step up this year or it could spell the end for the man with the moe.

  12. Jurrah, Davey and Jetta surely have this stitched up don't they? I'm not sure about Blease doing it - reckon he could make a great HBF.

After a long preseason, and with the proper footy just around the corner, the bloke I'm looking forward to seeing the most this year (in terms of where the coach plays him, etc), is Tapscott. I hope he's knocking on the door for selection either this weekend or next - would love to think he's 100% as of Round 1.

Where is tapscott at with his rehab he is a real gem of a player and would love to see him thrown forward with that thumping kick and is not easy to move of the ball he will be a gun.

  13. Your back up ruckman should be good at the position he primarily plays and then be able to hold his own in the ruck for the 5 minutes he may play there. With Clark, Sellar and potentially T-Mac to play games Martin would want to seriously improve as a forward if he wants to hold that role long term.

Have to say that martin is a long way in front all them guys in the ruck area martin is next in line for the ruck job when jamar is gone the guy has been really good in the ruck and has shown some strong improvment he really is like matty kruzer the way he attacks the ball and then follows his work by roving his own tap work he will become very good going forward because he can drop the mark but will also try cruming his own work.

  14. Big Jim I love the enthusiasm and I share it with you. I don't have a low view of the club but it wasn't too long ago we lost our last game to a helpless port adelaide and 2011 was supposed to be the year the dee's made it back to the 8. I am quietly confident we will improve but not this quick. These first half wins against richmond, Carlton, Sydney and St.Kilda will have to come from the improvement of the likes of Nicholson,Bennell,Blease,Bail and Morton. I can't see us adapting to the game plan and doing it well early on and I don't think the younger players have improved so much so quickly that the likes of Carlton and Sydney in Sydney are going to be wins for us. I'm just a realist. Not trying to be negative at all.

Yes i know mate and we could be at 2 wins but i really dont think we will be as neeld seems like he has a group trying to really impress him and i just think this year could be the one we start to build some strong respect back from the rest of the comp. That game with port was a very bad effort and our season really was in meltdown but in the last 6 months we have seen some strong change to the club and we have finally got a big man down forward which will help us alot.

  15. Yes i know. We took a hit there. Carlscum have got maximum bang out of those picks, but i still believe a well taught and fit MFC midfield can still do some damage, and i rate our defence better than the blues. It won't be easy, but i refuse to mark it as an automatic loss.

I hate carlton so me 2

I have us at 2 wins beating brisbane and the doggies. It's been a great off season but the new game plan will take plenty of time and there is no way we can realistically say that we can beat a top 5 team in carlton. Tigers game is a coin flip, bombers game not so much if they have a full list and sydney is always going to be a hard ask.

I just think it's going to take longer to turn the ship around than what people are imagining. Just seeing Clark run in and spoil Watts, or those easy goals over the back to GC as a result of getting the structures and press wrong - sure, like many, I believe that we have the cattle to start moving forward. But they need to learn to play together - which is going to take time.

People talk about Richmond's midfield - those guys are starting to have a few seasons together, and under the same coach.

2 wins for me, but then the second half of the season should start to see things come together ... as long as we don't get any/many injuries to key players.

If you think like this you have a very low view of our side we have 16 top 20 draft picks along with some really good rookies we should really be looking to stop thinking like we are along way off or less than any side between 4th and 8th we have alot of talent and now the best football department in the game that will finally bring structure and dare i say it a strong culture with great young men as leaders i can see why you can think like that but teams like the bulldogs and saints have had there chance its our time to shine and as for the tigers we need to put them were they belong below us. Our rise is starting in 2012 top 8 and nothing less jump on board the glory train boys and girls. THE DEMONS ARE HUNGRY............cant wait First course is roast magpie Main course is fried swan wings and for dessert blues berry ice cream and dont forget to scully your giant beer.

P.S scully can pick up the tab when your done
