FACTS: We have no major sponsor and the pre-season is 2 weeks away. We were in a similiar position the last time we were sponsorless
We are the worst represtened club in terms of merchandise in AFL stores state wide
Our branding has not grown at all in 10 years.
We are near last in terms of social media 'Likes' and 'Followings'
We were the laughing stock of the AFL last year when we played in 'Pink' jumpers all season after Mr Schwabby wanted to return to the 'deep' red of the 60's.
We have an apparel sponsor that sucks.
We have no innovative of forward thinking merchandise.
The new 'emblem' looks great when produced in large print, but is totally undesirable for thumbnaail reproduction.
- You may all see these as little things, but to me it stinks of laziness and 2nd rate attitudes by those that are responsible for selling the club. Call it an agenda if you like, i don't care much.
EDIT: Spelling
Can someone please give me a scalpel so I can slash my wrists over the The look of the new 'emblem' as it is totally undesirable for thumbnaail reproduction.......
My God - this is awful, I don't know how I can continue living knowing our emblem is no good for thumbnaail reporoduction... Seriously StillWoewodin22, get a life. If such minor things like thumbnaails annoy you then I could only imagine what the general feeling is in your household: 100% stress, 100% of the time... Take a couple hundred valiums and calm the hell down......

Very bold move by the club - well done showing the courage and conviction to go for two of the younger lads to lead us into a new and hopefully successful era. Beamer very unlucky - personally i think he should be in the leadership group at the expense of Batram as I'm not convinced he's in our best 22.

Also, i heard that apparently Sylvia was reduced to tears when Neeld spoke to him at the start of his employment and grilled him about his desire to play football etc.
What a load of rubbish!

Tom Who?

Silly thread. Frawley is a backman, with the option of pushing up the ground for short periods if required.
-
Does anyone know who Couch is training? Will he get promoted to the senior list?
-
Sounds good. Count me In

For the love of God can everyone stop talking about Scully. He's gone, move on. He is of absolutly no relevance or concern to the footy club.

Speaking to players last night they all said that they are enjoying the training this year and are a lot fitter. A comment was made that they ran out of legs toward the end of games last season. A negative aspect of the training this is year was a comment from a very senior player who said that there are now about 20 players in rehab which is far too many and will need to be addressed.
Jetta's shoulder means he cannot do any ball work until February. Jurrah cracked a bone in his hand in one of the games toward the end of the season. This did not heal properly so has just had some screws inserted.
Jordie has an achillies problem that is not that bad but keeps persisting.and keeps him in the rehab group.
Cook is still in rehab with his hip injury. He does not come across as a confident young man.
Davey was not there and a comment was made to me by people close to the club that he has not embraced the new fitness program and the coaching staff are concerned. I have been to training 7 times this pe-season and he is by far the worst trainer and is very introverted.
The new boys were great. Jai Sheahan is living with the Viney's and has an air of confidence about him. Leigh Williams will be a favourite with supporters. Has a great build, competes well and in my opinion a standout at training since he has been there.
James Magner is bigger than Tapscott and Maloney and would be scary in the midfield. Tapscott said that he is training with the midfield group.
Seller has impressed a training and said he hopes to play CHB. He may be a surprise packet.
Howe is a nice guy and was surprised that fellow Tasmanian Julian Dobosz was not picked in the draft.

Another whose testing cast real doubt over whether talent vs testing would win out and ultimately is was testing. Whilst he is a fair way away from having an AFL ready body he has undoubted talent and may be the kid from Tassie who ends up being the best of this draft in my view. There is a fair bit of Jack Riewoldt about him, he plays enthusiastically, jumps around, is good on the ground and just has a knack for kicking goals. Just needs a pre-season or two and the Dogs would be a good home for him.
I find the comments about Davey most concerning. He above anyone should be "embracing" the new fitness program. He really needs to have a good hard look at himself and commit to the the new program very quickly or he can find somewhere else to play footy next year.

Sensational Write Up guys - very happy with the way training is currently going. Excellent signs for 2012.
-
You'd have more luck playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks than Davey getting the Captaincy. In fact, it is very unlikely that he'll even be in the Leadership Group. Aaron has a lot of work to do this pre season, on a number of levels!
-
Beginning to feel rather sorry for young Tom - get the feeling that he may have had pressure of his old man right through his junior footy - and the pickle his old man has put him in might really damage the young blokes attitude toward the game
I'm sure with 6 million in the kitty young Tom will get over it soon enough.....

I'll delete any more Scully discussion fella's,
Thanks
Excellent suggestion. Some people just won't shut up about it. There is enough existing Scully threads already, no need for Scully talk to infiltrate non related topics. Get Over it People!
-
May I ask what the Scully's has to do with Training on Monday? Take the Scully talk somewhere else. Enough about the Scully's, sick to death about it!

No, because he isn't. Read the thread.
Perhaps you need to read the thread! The person who opened the the thread clearly said he was going to be training with us...........
-
Can someone please provide some proof that Tuck is actually training with us?
-
GWS have sacked Dale Holmes. Ha!!!!! They haven't even played a game yet and they're already getting rid of people. What a joke of an organisation!
-
Something smells about this. BT said that Leon was not happy with Collingwood's offer. Liam Pickering then says it's not about the money, he wants to return home to WA to be close to the family. Pickering then goes onto say that Leon would be happy to talk to SA clubs!! Am I missing something here? What is going on? Is Leon leaving Collingwood to be with his family or is he looking for more money? Someone is telling porkies!
-
Scully left Melbourne for the $$$ and then will return to play for his beloved Tigers. Lock it in!
-
Ah, No... We don't need Leon Davis.
-
Yes, I would prefer we go too far, try to get Denham sacked, and get the holier-than-thou refrain from Patrick Smith that we acting like 'sullen bullies' or whatever grammatical flourish takes the fancy of this person who loves sport but hates everyone involved in it.
Sorry to turn this into Smith-bashing...
Yeah right. The Australian are going to sack Denham over something that most likely did happen!!! I'm sure there are more pressing matters the club need to deal with to be honest......... I despise Denham as much as the next person but to even suggest that Denham should be sacked over this is just ridiculous!
-
Maybe they didn't?
It is probably BS, and BS about the Presidency of this great club is always worth fighting, and even more so when Jim Stynes is your President.
I don't like BS.
We should call Kennett and The Ausrtalian out on it.
We'll someone did and I don't think Kennett is making it up. The club stated it was no-one from the board or no-one connected with it which I also believe. Clearly it was someone that probably wasn't directly invloved with the club that thought he'd do a good job. At the end of the day this entire story is a storm in a tea cup.
-
Who really cares? Someone approached Kennett to be President - big deal!
