  1. Apart from 80% of the players going kick chasing, bombing the ball long down the line and not running and spreading do we even have a game plan? I haven't seen evidence of Neeld's game plan at all to be honest. If we do actually have a game plan can someone please explain it to me? I'm all ears.

  2. Why do we keep looking to ex players to be our saviors all the time? Just because someone played for the club, doesn't mean they are the best people to run the club. The "Boys Club" mentality is part of the reason why we are currently in this mess. We need the best available people working at the club, not the best ex players available working for the club.

However, I do agree with the sentiments of the thread - wouldn't hurt to invite some of the ex players that the club has wronged to try and clear the air, apologise if need be and find a new way forward.

  3. The Broom wasn't big enough after the 186 point thumping at the hands of Geelong - Schwab should have been sacked right there and then. At the time the club thought it best not to let a CEO and Coach go at the same time - that was a mistake. It would have been a Bold call to let them both go but the right call. Now, lets not make the same mistake again. It's time to go Don - he is an embarrassment of a President. His performance in the media has been diabolical and his backflip of not making any radical changes proves that he simply can't be trusted to speak the truth and then follow through with anything he says. If Don had any decency he would have put his head on the chopping block along with Cameron Schwab last night.

Don and the board made the appalling decision not to let Schwab go after the 186 point debacle, Don in his infinite wisdom decided that the next best course of action was to offer him a 3 year contract whereby he barley lasted even 1 year. Sorry Don - time you stood down and accepted responsibility now - off you go!

  4. It would want to be to announce Schwab has been sacked and or McLardy is stepping down - anything else would be insignificant drab... If this is one more of McLardy's spruiking sessions I'll seriously lose it. Unless the presser is about ACTION we don't want to know about it. Heard enough!

  5. read my above, when strauss, maric and cook were picked all the pundits said we had done alright and they had gone in the draft where they were expected to go....sorry facts again....I know RR and WYL disciples don't like facts but hey they exist......Hindsight.....don't drink by the way, but followed footy for many a year and a voracious reader and watcher of junior footy, all three you mentioned were absolute guns as juniors...Cook was AA.....but [censored] happens...if you believe the Club is dying then walk away....

OK - Perhaps in some instances we may have picked the right players at the time but we failed in developing them properly. AGAIN, who's fault is that? Lets not beat around the bush here - its a combination of poor recruiting and a complete lack of development that has landed us in this mess, amongst other things.... No-one else to blame but the club and the people they employed to Recruit these kids and to develop them to AFL standard. As a club we failed in both areas.

  6. Simma - you come on here and give your intentions to the community.

What do you want me to say? Empathise with you? I can. Understand where you are coming from? I did. Endorse it? That is not your right to demand that.

I gave my views on what you proffered yourself.

You have decided to make a decision to ask for your money back - you can do that, but what do you expect me to say?

You should expect what I said, and be damn thankful that we are all passionate enough to be chewing each other out right now.

Didn't recall actually asking you to say anything specific to be honest....... I like others on the community are merely sharing my views on the club and the action I've taken. Don't need anyones sympathy or endorsement. People are free to do what they wish. I've decided I cannot financially contribute to the demise of the club any more... Once I'm satisfied that the club is being run properly and my money is being put to good use then I'll rejoin. I did not take this decision lightly, I can tell you that.

  7. By protesting against people that have largely not been there for the first 28 or so, who are putting in the hard yards to turn it around.

And your solution is to make it harder for them.

I'm surprised you own a lawnmower outright, let alone 3 properties.

Delta if you want to continue accepting the rubbish the club is dishing out then that's your perogative - just like its mine to finally walk away. The club is backing its members into a corner... I won't be the first or last person to take this course of action either. Again, I see this an absolute last resort. Something has to give - if that means a supporter backlash in order to get drips like McLardy and Scwhab out of the club then so be it.

  8. Looks like a lot of us are pea hearts like simma.

I wish our supporters had some damn backbone.

Are you kidding? I've been supporting this "pea heart" club for 30 + years. Year after year I fork over $300 + just in membership alone and have copped all the crap along the way. We are in a worse position now than ever. Again we hear excuses comming from the club - they have NO answers! If they can't find the answers then its time for them to leave and some new people to come into the club that can find the answers as to why we are such a rabble! Drastic times call for drastic measures. McLardy and Schwab must GO so I have taken the drastic measure in walking away until they stand down.

  9. That hurts the club.

    So thanks for that...

Honestly, what emotion do you want from us?

wyl's 'I hope you are back when we are good' spiel?

We need all the people we can get helping the club.

And mistakes don't matter, having the courage to try sometimes leads to failure. That is not why we are at where we are at - our players don't try.

Our players are so afraid of failure they don't do anything other than try and beat 'their' bloke, and when 15 blokes go into a game with that mindset - you have already lost.

What's your grand plan RFCP? More ranting and raving on social media perhaps? Pft.....

Sorry but I feel the club is taking the p*ss out of its supporters - especially the rubbish McLardy is comming out with. My membership is directly contributing to this rubbish. I have 3 mortgages RPFC - if the club isn't going to make good use of my money then I will. I have stayed loyal for over 30 years - I'm now protesting with my feet.

  11. Long as you come back when the club is being run differently Simma.

I for one understand. The Club needs to know. I will not accept spin any longer.

I'll definately be back when I feel the club is being run by professional and competent people. I felt sick to the stomach having to call the club to cancel my membership but I felt that I needed to make a stand as oppossed to ranting and raving on social media. No more excuses, no more talk. Time for action. Once I see the appropriate action they'll again have my support and funds.

  12. I have been a member for over 30 years, GOLD Redlegs for 10 + years. Unfortunately, this morning I had to call the club and cancel my membership. I can no longer contribute to this mess which is the Melbourne Football Club. I like many supporters have been very, very, very patient and now my patience has finally fun dry. I have absolutely no confidence in the people running our club - mainly the CEO, President and the Coach. McLardy has absolutely no idea - all we here from him is excuse after excuse with abolsutely no answers as to what the hell is going on. Cam Schwab's success rate of 36% speaks for itself and our coach is a complete and utter SPUD. His speech was embarrassing - fancy telling a team that mistakes don't matter!

My support for this club is no longer unconditional. As long and McLardy and Schwab are steering the ship, I won't be in it. Enough is enough.

  13. Sorry but something just isn't adding up. If everything is as rosy as all the players say then why are we 0-9? Open your eyes people. There are clear issues with certain players and the coach!!!! Team's don't perform this badly without some existing issues. I know our list is poor to say the least but there seems to be other factors at play here. Do you really think that Rivers or any other player is going to come out in the media and admit there are issues??????? If the entire playing group is 100% behind the coach then I'll eat my own hat!!! Read in between the lines..... Don't be so gullible to believe what players and or officials say to the media.
