  1. Basically you're not alone. I sensed a change in me last night that was my spirit finally being broken. I don't see any hope of a win this year which makes me wonder why bother?

Neeld treats this group like a bunch of caveman kids that knew nothing about football when he walked in the door. In fact he is quite vocal about it. How does that inspire others to follow you? He even treats them like children in the pressers for all the world to see. I'm losing faith in him and his game philosophy at a great rate of knots.

Agreed. I was really impressed with Neeld when we hired him. He seemed to say all the right things and knew what he was talking about. Fast Forward round 7 - it seems our coach is basically full of it. I had more respect for him after his round 1 press conference than I do now. As each week goes by he sounds more and more like a MFC employee - full of hot air and excuses. Time for Neeld to start taking some responsibility. What he is trying to do is not working at all - He clearly needs to tinker with the game plan to get some results because at this rate we will not win a game and he won't last the 3 years of his contract.

  2. I'm sick to death of all the Dangerfield talk - there is no way on earth he will ever even consider coming to our rabble of a club. What incentive could we possible offer him? Multiple spoons perhaps? Guaranteed form slump? Yeah great prospect we are!!!! I'm pretty sure he'll look at an Essendon or Geelong or will just stay at Adelaide. All hell will freeze over before Dangerfield gives the MFC a moments thought, let alone choose to play for us!!!!

  3. Losing is boring.

When we kick goals and win it is not boring.

You're trying to overthink it, but it's that simple.

Are you serious? Have you watched Melbourne play recently... We don't kick goals and we sure as [censored] don't win.. Nothing to overthink here - we are a very boring team, amongst other things!.

  4. Well talk about egg on my face. I was saying just yesterday how good beamer was for melbourne then i wake to this.Well the great thing about demonland is that today i can tell you all how much i think moloney is scully num 2. But im really worried free agency could hurt the MFC if we dont get our head out of the sand quick smart because players want to win and there is only so much you can take. Players like chipper who love the club but just are so sick of never winning could hurt us big time. MFC needs to start winning very soon forget tanking for more kids we need to start winning before this club is in big trouble

Before this club is in big trouble - correction, this club IS already in big trouble.........

  5. Moloney can leave to be honest - he's a flat track bully who seems to be part of the problem and not the solution. He'll get 40 posessions and 22 clearances against Gold Coast when he is not tagged. However, as soon as a decent team tag him he goes missing every time! It seems he is walking around with a chip on his shoulder. The fact that he was overlooked by 2 kids for the Captaincy and couldn't make the leadership group says to me that the playing group and coaching staff have little to no faith in him as a leader.

  6. Got to love some of the excuses for poor performances here on Demonland. Let's get one thing straight - 4 possessions in an entire game is a horrible result, no matter what job the coach gives the player...... Unbelievable!!!

  7. ????

Were we watching the same game? He might have kept Murphy quiet, but he was recruited ages ago, with Newton and Bate as one of our up and coming big players... All of them have been disappointments. Tagging an ageing has-been, and we're to think that's a win for us? I think people are justified in their frustratio with him. Draft a player that high and keep him that long you expect him to nullify a player AND get 20ish damaging touches + goals...

No disrepect to the original poster. But I do remember sitting there at one point with Bate in the midfield playing as well as he has in years and STILL being slow, with Dunn playing a negative role, and I just thought, this isn't good...

Agreed. Dunn was a first round pick and is expected to do more than take out an opposition defender! All he seems interested in doing is pushing, shoving and mouthing off at opposition players instead of finding the pill. Not to mention what he looks like with that Mo - it's embarrassing!!! He has had plenty of time to cement a permanent spot in the team and has not done so. Players like Dunn are part of the reason of where we are currently at - he has failed to step up to the plate. He must go at seasons's end.

  8. So according to you 11 player will have to go this year. So we start 2013 with 11 new players???

Come on. No club will delist 11 players.

It can happen and needs to happen at the MFC. When Hardwick took over at Richmond I'm pretty sure he axed more than 11 players. Desperate times call for desperate measures. We need to ditch at least 11 players next season in order to be semi competitive.

  9. pull your head in Simma02. I'm a Gysberst fan, but i also liked Mclean. Just because i'm sticking up for Brock's leadership credentials doesnt mean i'm not happy with the trade or 'have absolutely no idea'

You're a walking contradiction DemonWA - first you say it would have been better if we kept Mclean but at the same time you're happy with Gysberts!!!!!! You can't have a bet each way here. Either you state Brock should have stayed or we were better off without him and getting Gysberts was the best result! Pick one opinion on the matter and stick with it!!!!!

  10. Although the notion of bringing him back is pretty silly, i dont think we should have let him go. He was a leader and could have helped the club over the last few "junior-less" seasons

DemonWA = you have absolutely no idea! We got Gysberts for Brock!!!!! Brock was great in his day but the game has passed him by. At AFL level he is an out and out dud!!!! Gysberts is one of the few players on our list that has the ability to become an A-Grade midfielder.....

  11. Why on earth is Tom Couch still not playing in the seniors. He's been Casey's best for the last 3 weeks and he wasn't even named as an EMERG for the Richmond game!!! Aaron Davey gets back into the team because he did a few running sessions in Perth. What a joke!!!

  12. Can everyone ease up on Watts. He is far from a dud pick despite what the NikNat loving media would have you believe.

Agreed. Watts is the least of our worries to be honest. In fact he is one of a very small few on our current playing list that has the capacity to become an elite player. A good % of our playing list is cannon fodder!

  13. One other thing - when Grimes got hit not one SINGLE player went to his defence!!!! A 20 odd game 22 year old player who is in his first year as Capitan gets hit and no-one helps him out!!!! Just goes to show what a bunch of pea hearts we have representing our club. Our current playing group as a whole makes me sick!

  14. Those complaining about the free kick count need to get real. The free kick count was in West Coast favour because of 2 reasons:

    1. West Coast were first in for the ball

    2. We were constantly tacking West Coast players high

Any young person learning to play the game is always taught to tackle the hips. What on earth were some of the MFC gooses doing out there? Seriously, it was probably a world record of high tackles paid in one game. We are a terrible team as is - we can't afford to be giving away a mountain of unnecessary free kicks!!!!! The Players cannot even grasp a basic fundamental tackling technique. How on earth will they ever carry out a complicated game plan when they can't even grasp the basics? Shocking!!!

  15. I think another thing we could do is use any contacts to suggest sponsorship options for the club. Remember how we signed Kaspersky because a supporter mentioned the club needed a sponsor in a business meeting, and that ended up generating a couple of $$ million for the MFC.

For me, well I don't know anyone high up in any major business, so unfortunately can't contribute!

Now this is a great idea - it's viable and most importantly has a successful hit with Kaspersky signing on!!!

  16. Sorry I just don't agree with you. If the club isnt first and foremost for the members like every other club in the world then who is it for. I'm sick of our supporters sitting back and saying its someone else's problem to fix the club. This is OUR club. We need to get behind it when required. It exists for us because we want it to.

No one care more about our club than us. Is it ideal to have corp sponsors? Yes. It is necessary in the football world but that does not mean we should sit on our hands and wait for that to happen.

Okay so should we all take out $100,000 loans and donate it to the club????? Is that the answer is it? We've already donated plenty so for you to state that we are sitting on our hands and doing nothing if we don't donate to a cause like what is being suggested in this thread is just ludicriuos to be honest! Let's be honest, the club has been the ones sitting on their hands when it comes to obtaining a front of jumper sponsor. It seems we've been too passive "waiting" for the right opportunity to avail itself instead of aggressively going out and obtaining the sponsor. Well, we can all see that this passive approach has somewhat put us in the sh*t for the time being becuase now we are down a major sponsor and still without a front of jumper sponsor.....

Us supporters have done plenty for the cause - we are not paid by the club, we pay money to the club. It's time for the people PAID by the club to start making a real difference!

  17. That's right, it's not a long-term solution but rather a show of support and small financial contribution. If you don't like the idea that's fine, don't contribute that's OK (I won't hold it against you), but if this is to get off the ground I don't need every second person saying how bad the idea is, please keep it to yourself.

No need to get so defensive - as previous stated your idea has great sentiment but in the grand scheme of things won't really achieve much at all. Geez, if you're going to make a post you need to expect comments comming back that might not 100% agree with your idea or viewpoint. Either suck it up or don't bother posting if you can't handle what comes back your way!
