My concern would be the AFL hiding behind their secret formula. He'll maximise compensation points on age and allegedly his contract is 6yrs, which I think also comes into play. There's enough wiggle room for the AFL to engineer as they please I fear.

We already lost Bedford and now Jordon, both players the club wanted to keep, stemming from lack of opportunities as the club sought a second premiership with a relatively stable best 22. We need to get games into D Turner, Howes, Laurie, Woewodin otherwise we risk losing them. 2024 is the year we have a crack at a player in my view and we should have plenty of cap space to work with.
