  1. Perth - world's most isolated city - with the exception of Fremantle pretty much an ordinary city. If Brisbane is off the cards for the family I would be greatly surprised if Perth would be on the radar.
  2. I saw Paul Roos on a plane to Casey this morning at 5am...
  3. I preferred the puppets in Team America myself...
  4. Im actually worried the day he is announced (if it happens and I dare not dream for fear of heart break) I will experience priapism for a full week.
  5. I actually really like Miami's clothing - my mate bought a jacket from the NFL shop website and its so much cooler than most of the gear for Seattle for some reason. I saw that Snoop Lion was at the last preseason game supporting the Seahawks with Beastmode's numbered Guernsey. As snoop dogg he supposedly supported the raiders. I can understand why you'd want to change but keep it 'west coast'. Every preseason game ive watched the Texans have played as been intense. They are a great team to watch - I reckon they will go well this season. The other preseason game that was worth watching in round 4 was the Philli game. Some awesome sacks.
  6. I don't have standards, just preferences...
  7. I like any poster who has an attractive female as an avatar - although they used to be more revealing than they are now.
  8. Is there a way to filter the posts in this thread so that it only shows actual news or discussions about the possibility of Paul Roos coaching the dees? 1. First impact if it is announced - membership to 40K next year. Nearly all my dees supporting mates don't have memberships anymore - many since Juniors sacking. they will be back. 2. Attendence at games - it will double for dees supporters. 3. No more excuses - shape up or ship out. 4. New momentum - even if the first year or two is tough the direction will be set up right and momentum will build. 5. rumour Roos met with the leadership group already (which I thought was odd given that two of the leaders are supposedly in Flagstaff Arizona exercising) 6. attracting good players wont be a problem now. 7. Rumour that Kennelly wants to come across as well - the irish connection.
  9. I think Roos himself said that supporters would have to expect a few hard years to come potentially before things turned around no matter who was the coach. I think Roos will improve the backbone and start a new momentum of belief in the club, the supporters, and by attracting sponsors. My feeling is that the biggest change will be supporters - membership to 40K - attendance will be up. I wont miss a game with him at the helm. And I haven't gone to every game in a season since 2009. Players will suddenly consider Melbourne as a possible destination that could yield a promising future career. So attracting players. In terms of onfield performance if we can get a few ready made mids we could become competitive straight away, but I wouldn't expect dramatic results until at least 2015.
  10. Thanks for the reminder. Its good to read and remember the better times.
  11. Terlich will be worried - he moved him on at Sydney I think I remember reading. I cant wait to see who he attracts to the club as injections of ready-made mids. Rory Sloane more of a chance? My feeling is that if he does sign and to be honest I wont dare open myself up to believing it until I read it in black and white - he will say that we are in for at least another year of pain before things turn around.
  12. Scweet! Ill find me a dodgy Asian then... My predictions - NFC Dominators: - Seattle (ofcourse); - Greenbay, - Philli, - Red Skins, - San Fran NFC improvers: - Arizona and biggest surprise will be Detroit's improvement. AFC Dominators: - Houston Texans by a country mile for mine - New England Pats - Denver (for Payton alone though) - Ravens will decline but still be tidy AFC improvers: - Kansas City will be massive improvers - Miami maybe?? - nah probably not - their preseason games have looked soulless. AFC duds: - Buffalo.
  13. And you know this because... From the same source that you quoted in a previous post when you said that 'Roos will definitely not coach us.'??
  14. My biggest issue is getting my boner down this weekend. Beyond massive for the club and I cannot think of the last time our club could potentially score this kind of boon. In terms of sponsorship, membership, attracting players/recruits, cultural standards, momentum it just doesn't get bigger than scoring this guy. All of a sudden we would be an attractive side for young players and recruits. All of a sudden we would look like a serious club for the first time since the Daniher years or probably earlier. I don't want to get my hopes up (Judd a dee, Scully will stay, etc etc) - but if he is announced as coach I may never be sober again...
  15. This one is being bandied about the various rumour and trade pages on facebook.
  16. Face book AFL trades reports that John Ralph said that we (as in MFC) will snare buddy! WTF! Craziest rumour thus far.
  17. I overheard a conversation in a bar in Cairns earlier in the week (which btw I'm missing already) from three blokes who were there as part of a development program for indigenous players through the AFL - one in Essendon jacket. This statement was made: 'If Carlton delist 10 players and Melbourne pics them all up they would all be in their best 22 by a country mile.' depressing...
  18. I really rate Gary Ayres. I can't stand now days how reasonably successful coaches who take a risk and bomb or who make a few mistakes just become tainted when sone of the often touted options are sometimes lesser skilled in my opinion. Conan is a premiership player. there was a time when Terry Wallace was seen as THE coaching messiah; when Pagan was considered a gun - these two at least took a risk on basket cases and in ways ruined their careers. many coaches now days are too scared to take on a real challenge and jeopardize their reputations/legacy. Like malthouse will at Carlton..
  19. I just wish they would get on with it to be honest.
  20. sounds nice. Yeah flagstaff was very much a non event. Liked Phoenix and Sedona but not much else of Arizona. Liked boulder in Colorado Montana was my fav.
  21. I'll think about my predictions. Think the chiefs might be big improvers. hey you do you guys know where to get NFL clothing in AUS? Keep seeing green bay hats.
  22. Flagstaff is a nice city. Had no idea it was even at altitude. I would have thought Denver or somewhere nearby would have been better.
  23. I think the idea of a Craig with succession plan idea seems mentioned lots. All I heard was that Craig was the favorite and financially made sense. that is unless roos accepts my offer to mow his lawns.
