  1. For discussion - playing to win, or let’s experiment ? Is now the right time to experiment or does it tell players that the club/coaches don’t care anymore about this year? To me we should play to win for every game (especially milestone games) and to build as much confidence as possible leading in to pre-season and next year - I.e. get the most from this year we can, build confidence in the new game style and players playing to their position in the new game style. Changing positions for too many players at once (Bowey, Langford etc on top of existing changes) is too much change, destroying any semblance of confidence they might have and giving us no chance to win - from the very start today it was very evident the players knew the coaching staff were not being serious and did not care about the result, a ‘motivation killer’ for professional sportspersons - the players knew we were experimenting and did not care so much about winning - the players accepted the result was irrelevant today and therefore the result was pre-ordained from the start and this was reflected in their early contests. Much of the modern game style/strategy and our skill and effort to execute is driven by confidence - today we had none from the very start. We cannot afford to repeat this mistake again against Collingwood - there is still much to play - pride, confidence, supporters, sponsors, potential recruits etc.
  2. Just wondering if Picket has turned up yet?
  3. Trac such a headless chook ar times, no composure with footy in hand
  4. Whatever happens with senior coach we should get Tom Hawkins for forward line coach asap
  5. Any chance someone at the club could explain to Max that he ALWAYS kicks to the left when shooting for goal ? No point playing him forward till he understands this basic principle. Don’t worry about trying to kick straight - aim to the right of desired flight path and all else will take care of itself! Does my head in, everyone knows what is going to happen when he lines up except for Max - doing the same thing over and over and expecting the result to be different , we all know what that is.
  6. This will be controversial but what the hell….for me Trac has been ineffective for some time (poor disposal, hasn’t been able to improve goal kicking, always fumbles, can’t tackle, poor decision making and no leadership) and it is time to get the best we can for him on the trade table which is more than we will get for any others mentioned as tradeable at this stage - I.e. he delivers little, costs a lot but has the most collateral. Do it respectfully and discreetly, not an open auction, but in conversation with him as he has made it known he is willing to move.
  7. Apparently you shouldn’t get beaten by what you already know - but we do, repeatedly, our own deficiencies as a team and as individual players. Only one person/role can be responsible for not addressing these consistent problems. Time to go Goody, thanks for everything.
  8. This team seriously does my head in…..
  9. Has Petra a had an effective touch yet?
  10. Can’t share the enthusiasm here, ‘wins’ like this paper up cracks - we are a bloody ordinary footy team and more often than not have been for a few years - we should be better than what we are, but we need to see that we are not, it’s not about the opposition, it’s about us and how we play and make decisions on the ground. Our coaching has been sub-standard for awhile against the best and we never want to deal with the hard truth. Anyone looking objectively at our performances knows we are nowhere near another premiership - who amongst the current coaches will challenge the club with this view and cause change? Who will speak up against the mantra that we ‘are learning’, we still ‘don’t know what our best forward set up is’ etc etc - it’s always glass half full stuff from our coaches, particularly Goody - we are always ‘trying to get better’ … but unsurprisingly, never do… my main point is we haven’t learnt, or developed any further than where we were mid way through last year, if anything we are worse. This to me comes back to our coaching which I believe is sub-standard and complacent. Our ‘window’ is closing, I’ve been following he demons for 50 years and time goes quickly and I just feel we are missing a golden opportunity with some ‘lazy’ management
  11. Gee max needs a rest
  12. What does it take to have a ruck on the goal line - it never happens and it’s bloody frustrating
  13. How is it we have two tall ruckmen on the ground yet whenever we have a clearing kick off the half back line we are consistently out marked on the half forward line - where is Grundy??
  14. Gee we are an ordinary team a lot of the time
  15. Thank god for their poor goal kicking
  16. Some goal kicking practice required…..
  17. Kozi kicks some great goals - just wish someone would tell him to stop giving away silly free kicks (pushing players in the back when about to kick) and flying for impossible marks when better staying grounded
  18. Gee we have a lot of players playing selfish footy - very few looking to set someone up in a better position, our forwards key culprits
  19. As a team we are lazy - sit back and don’t get in to compete when the opposition serves it up, quick to run forward for the easy receive and possession, repeat of last half of 2022, just don’t want to do the work at the contest when it really counts
  20. Love Max, but gee he’s soft when targeted, doesn’t throw his weight around and cause fear, Grundy is worse, whenever we play Port Allih Allih always plays a dominant game and we can’t compete with his body work
  21. Trac always trying to play basketball not footy, endemic problem he’s never got out of his game
  22. The ability of Oliver to kick the ball to the opposition is unbelievable
  23. Attitude and performance of our midfield tonite is pathetic, we won’t do any better than last year and haven’t learnt much based on this performance - no commitment and desire to dig in when it gets tough
  24. Great win, don’t think much of Brisbane, but the way we played was good, a bit more variety in tactics
