  1. And I will make a comment if I chose to- and I do. When thinking about a player coming to the club, don't think of it only in terms of what he brings with his play- think of it in terms of what he brings team balance. Cloke in the forward line doesn't necesarilly mean 2 big gorilla forwards- it means we can shuffle Clark around a bit and he can be a second ruckman resting forward- or worst case Jamar goes down and we don't lose anything. Cloke adds contested marking in spades and insurance. He allows the forward line to walk taller. He is the best player available right now, and as they say, you go the best.
  2. You barstard.... Unleash the Cookie monster!!
  3. wasted in 50 arc. His instructions are as follows- Jack, DO NOT let the ball enter opponent's 50 arc!!
  4. Wouldn't you really only know that after you've seen them play a couple? Oh and just realised- it's not going to be pick 4 and 5- it's either going to be pick 3, or 4, or 5. We won't finish last and we will spend first pick on Viney. Just to knit pick. Who is pick 3-5 likely to be this draft and will he be good enough to be plug and play, that is the question.
  5. Is Cook looking good for a debut against GWS? Dare I say unleash the Cookie monster?
  6. Franklin Selwood Bartell
  7. You'd have to swap pick 4 and 5 with Taggert and Tynan at this stage. Pick 4 and 5 likely to start at Casey. What about our small forward problem. We have none.
  8. You are an excellent poster. I really like your style, and demonland would be a lesser place without you.
  9. Never in doubt for mine. He said he wanted to remain a demon and sometimes you just have to take a player's word for it. Well done MFC and well done Jamar. Definitely a required player and now we can all breath easy knowing our ruck department isn't going to become a problem for us. 3 years is perfect to "pass the baton" onto the next hopeful. Go Dees
  10. Out- Green, Blease (if injured) In- Frawley, Bail Minimal changes to a winning team. Frawley must come in and if Blease is injured we need to bring in a runner. Can anyone confirm if Blease will miss?
  11. lol yes football 101- score more than your opponent. It's groundbreaking stuff really. Think I should have been a coach:P
  12. How very profound. Enlighten us on your thoughts- as an armchair critique on the outside looking in- on just how we will be better off if he goes.
  13. Well it would have been the perfect opportunity to take a stand against staging, obviously the AFL aren't really serious about this issue. I would expect one of our players to get off if they do something similar, but I'm not holding my breath. What about that dog Fletcher? No case to answer for after sliding in with his knees. I hate this guy. Yeah you're tall and lanky, that doesn't give you a free pass to lead with elbows, knees and run amock like a tall lanky battering ram. Hate this guy.
  14. Agree- in part. But remember we are still learning how to win, big scores will be a by product of becoming more confident. A small forward would help greatly, also an unchanged team that can gain some continuity. And confidence. Saturday night was a great leap forward in that regard. Also think about this- doesn't matter what we score if we can keep the opposition's score lower than ours. Big numbers don't necessarily do it for me. 4 points do.
  15. hahah so would I. What was the quote from Ed? "we don't let opposition teams come in and steal our players like the dees" or words to that affect. FWIW with if we didn't recruit Clark I would be after Cloke all guns blazing. However I am thinking that if we did get Cloke also it would allow Clark to be a second ruckman-resting forward line player- and he would kill at that. It would also take pressure off our ruck division, and although I've been against putting Clark in the ruck for numerous reasons, I can also see the benefit in it. Would I rather a gun mid? Probably. But a weapon is a weapon, and make no mistake, Cloke is a contested mark machine. He is a power forward and to be able to land two power forwards in successive years would be astounding. It would make the need/want for Watts to play forward void. It would make the reliance on Cook coming through not as important (a bonus if he does, obviously, and I think he will), it will help us if Jurrah doesn't play again (and if he does, well just think..) and it will allow our other forwards to play smaller. Viney will help the mids stocks immeasurably. Trengove will develop after another pre-season, Jones is still young and still has development left in him, and some continuity with Gysberts will help greatly. Sustained form of Moloney, Magner and Mckenzie as an out and out tager and we suddenly aren't so bad. Plus there's still pick 4/5/6 from this years draft which could net us a great outside mid. In conclusion- lets go for it. Big marking forwards don't grow on trees and instead of thinking about the negatives, think about the positives it will bring the team. Have I changed my tune? Yes
  16. Why don't they just put a camera in the goal umpire's hat, instead of faffin about trying to stick one in a ball (worst. idea. ever btw)
  17. The cherry on top was golden boy's devastated face, and Blues getting smashed lol
  18. How is she riding the horse?
  19. Rift between players and coach, hahah which muppet was going on about that??? Garland forward? what a move!! Give him some goal kicking practice and make it permanent!! Thought Macdonald was great back last night, just needs a bit of composure which will come in time. So happy with the boys tonight, and without Frawley, win!! I love exclamation marks it seems
  20. Better than sex!!!! I can't believe I endorsed the tank, what a stupid fool I am lol Everything is good again!!!!
  21. 6- Jones 5- Garland 4- Watts 3- Howe 2- Rivers 1- Grimes FAAARKKKK YEAAAAH!!!!!!!!!
  22. My previous observations on Sylvia have been off the mark- he isn't a rudderless talent, he's just rudderless with no talent. Struggling to see it. Jack Watts is having a great game. Essendon's innacuracy keeping us in it. Our disposal is shithouse. Golly gosht we're in front. Only by luck though
  23. BP says you can thank the AFL and our stinky culture. I wonder if we picked up Martin with #1 if we could have kept him. I doubt it now.
  24. Unleash the cookie monster!
