WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Jesse Christ replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
And they can only get away with it on the goal line because it's more obvious if it's crossed the posts. Anything before the goal line- like a touched ball off a soccer kick is still inconclusive. It's funny that in a billion dollar industry that a review system is based off rewind then play at quarter speed lol. The umpires are part time, in a game that is the hardest to officiate, and the review system is primitive. It's only a matter of time before this kills someone in a massive game. But hey, as OD says, the pies are cheaper! Thank God for that hey? -

Yep. Has to be conclusive to be overturned, it was anything but. While we're on that, the whole review system is a farce- the cameras don't shoot at a high enough frame rate to show any reply with any degree of accuracy - every replay is a blur and inconclusive. It's all just guesswork. Upgrade your cameras and review system AFL you tightarses -
Nah I've made up my mind: Out: Gawn, Hunt, Newton, Michie, O Mac In: Spencer, Lumumba, Tyson, Jetta, Pederson Gawn and Hunt get a rest, O Mac goes to the gym, Newton makes way for Tyson, Lumumba provides the dash, Pederson ruck relief and flexibility, and Jetta to kill Wingard again.
-
Might be a good time to give Gawn a rest; a little down over the last couple of weeks and we need him at his best for the Hawks in a fortnight..

Can just picture Picket whizzing around his mum's lounge room screaming "Clarry choo choo" taking screamers on her furniture and just having an awesome timetime, as children like to do

Heeney is so [censored] good. Free kick Sydney

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 9
Jesse Christ replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Breakout game for the Petraccattack, feel it in my bones! -
Is he an inside mid? How many inside mids do we need? We already have ANB struggling to get in, who would Prestia replace? Would we move Jones to the half back line?

Jetta gone for a week, Vince free to play.
Jesse Christ replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
It looked bad. Let's just call it a draw with Vince escaping and only playing Lions. -
Can someone do the ladder predictor and see what happens if we win today and the next couple of weeks, while pencilling in a loss for dogs against GWS?
-
A win today we consolidate our spot in the 8 (for now) and have Brisbane and Port the following weeks, could potentially be 4 from 4 for the first time in God knows when, could get a handy gap on those below us and give some breathing room and also signify to those who may still be doubtful that we are on the improve, this is the place to be, and finals is just around the corner. Massive, must win game. This is huge!
-
God this week's game is crucial- we win we stay in the 8- we keep the dogs from getting another 4 points clear (who have GWS next week), then the next two weeks we have Brisbane and Port. We could be on a 4 win streak in 3 weeks time and a genuine chance at finals. I'd say this game coming up is our biggest in a long time and I'm getting nervous..

I'd be surprised if this is a luxury they only give to Jesse, problem is he is the big story and the media are using the visit to fuel speculation and keep the drama alive. I'm not worrying until it rolls into 2017 and there's no signature. Fwiw I'm very confident he loves it here and sees how [censored] great we are going to be and it's only a matter of time till he signs, and if not, well we take the juicy juicy compo and keep doing what we've done for the last 150 years and move on.
-
When was the last time we were in the 8 after round 1? Time to update the longest streak thread no?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Jesse Christ replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
No it's good, let Oliver keep thinking he's no good and we can convince him no one else will give him a game and we can keep him for cheap! -

When did we sign Prestia? -
But doesn't the emergency travel with the team anyway?
-
How about this then- 4 on the bench, plus a sub who doesn't have to be activated. It's essentially sitting the emergency on the bench. Pros- can replace an injured player with no impact on rotations, can give new players a soft introduction, can give players repeatedly on the cusp of selection (ANB for example) a sense of greater involvement, gives you the flexibility to sub out an underperforming player, gives flexibility to changing weather conditions or tactics. Still get the advantage of having a full 4 players on the bench AND a sub who was deemed the 23rd player anyway.
-
Also the more plane trips you have to do the more chances you have of dying in a fiery crash, all things to consider!
-
That's probably fair.
-
I'm very confident that you're a muppet that is assuming Hogan's intent through your own interpretation
-
I'm a Dean Kent fan, and this is a totally unfounded comment which is just based off a feeling I have had for a while, but I could see him leaving. Again, no basis for this, and it's merely just a hunch, but for some reason I've never had the same confidence that he would stay as I have with someone like Watts and Hogan, or Viney.
