  1. I disagree on Gysberts - I think he will be huge this year.
  2. True, I know, not that much. Sort of just making the point in general... If your boss tells you to turn up on time for something, turn up on time. If you don't, there should be consequences.
  3. Are you this unrelentingly negative just to stir people up, or do you actually believe it? If everything is SO terrible ALL the time, why bother coming to discuss it?
  4. I think we'll sneak in, but I also think it depends hugely on the development of the teams around us (eg Nth, Richmond, Essendon and Freo probably) and how teams go who might be sliding a bit (like, say Bullies and the Swans).
  5. And as for suggesting we trade Watts on the strength of one bad night in the bucketing rain in the silly season... Wow.
  6. Chill out people. Let's wait until the real stuff starts. And for all of those complaining that we 'are miles from the top'... Seriously? Of course we are. Did you expect us to make top 4 this year?
  7. And its actually probably not his development that is harmed. In fact, I reckon he will redouble his efforts and it will enhance his development in the end, if he is half the player I think he is.
  8. Not sure why this is such a big deal. If I were being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to be at a planning meeting for a big project (such as, say, the first game of the year) and I missed it, then my boss would be tee off at me as well. He is a big boy. About time that something as simple as being on time is now demanded. Can you imagine Geelong or Hawthorn letting junior players swan into a meeting late without saying anything?
  9. Just looking at a few of those photos, does anybody else get the feeling Chipper is going to absolutely monster some blokes this year?
  10. You bewty! Who cares where we play him and why is it bad that we have more options? People here worried about Martin, Gawn etc, why not make them compete for their spots? If they are good enough, they will make it. Same goes for the mid forwards - if they can't get a game because the competition is too strong, why is that so bad?
  11. He is a cracker. I still remember him running off Buddy Franklin last year with nothing but Buddy and the goals behind him, trapping it at about CHB and belting it back over everyone's heads. Will be an out and out star.
  12. I reckon I have said that a few times... I'm willing to be convinced otherwise though.
  13. Collingwood lost because: their best assistant coach left on the eve of the finals, this would have been really destabilising Jolly was even more of a dinosaur than normal (although he had a lot of hit outs, absolutely no influence around the ground) Ben Reid obviously wasn't right, because he couldn't run in the second half and Hawkins towelled him Geelong's pressure was intense Mick Malthouse's last game was a huge distraction AND they believed their own hype Geelong were harder at it for longer and were just classier. I could prob think of a few more reasons but that's enough for now.
  14. Watts fell over every 3 minutes or so in his first year or two, as I recall, and he will be a genuine superstar. Sometimes I think people just post threads like this to fill in time.... I mean, we only have 42 players - surely if we stick at it we can cane them all eventually.
  15. I've really changed my mind about Beamer in the last few days. How's giving it to Col? Get your [censored] together and win one of these, tiger. Love it.
  16. Bottom 4?? Kidding yourselves. They are awesome.
  17. I reckon, subject to not giving up too much, why wouldn't we have him? How many times does our midfield look up and see a bunch of Melbourne blokes with gorillas on them, and have nobody to kick it to? We don't have a forward who can beat any of Glass, Scarlett, Ben Reid and similar types. Why wouldn't recruit seemingly the only big forward who is available? I think that would free up Jurrah, Green and Pettard etc and stop them being the 'big' marking target down forward.
  18. Rivers?? Wow... Very happy for him though - love him!
  19. I only watched the last quarter, but I thought he looked slow against a very average midfield. Hawks, Blues, Pies and Cats would smash him in the midfield I reckon.
  20. How are we still in this?? Come on Dees, give us something to yell about!
