  1. Ok , how many good attacking midfielders have we got that can defend ? Jones and .......who else ?
  2. I believe you're right 'pantaloons' , re life membership at the Demons . Did a bit of a check and the only aberrations I could find were Shane Zantuck and perhaps Chris Connolly . But it's been a 10 years service 'rule' in recent times so I stand corrected . Not sure it's 10 years at all clubs though .
  3. I fail to see how your largely unreadable rant has anything to do with my original post . You've misconstrued my words to suit your own negative slant on things . I offered a positive solution to our plight and you just want to give up by the sounds of things . You've taken my post out of context , twisted things around and made wildly ridiculous assumptions that make no sense at all . Perhaps if you take the time to re-read my post carefully you'll realize that I was making a suggestion on what I thought the club should do in the month of October . At no stage did I say that these things will happen as you've intimated .
  4. By your standards we need to clear them all out . 'A' graders only hey ? Not practical .
  5. Good luck with your future , Brent . All the best and thank you for your service to the club . You've got a Keith 'Bluey' Truscott medal and too not many Demons have achieved that honour . You've had your detractors but many of us could see your value . Ironically , our club needs some bigger bodied attacking midfielders . This year wasn't your best but it's been a forgettable year for many on the list . Apart from Jones and a few others , most on our list won't have 'fond' memories of 2012 . Play well at your new club but not against us ! Cheers
  6. I can see the club looking at the WAFL , SANFL and/or the VFL if we're caught short . It may be a better option than picking up an 18yo at number 60 odd or higher . We've already gone down this path a bit with Magner and Couch as rookies . Some harder more mature players might be better 'depth' solutions . And they won't cost much in salary . Just a fail-safe method if we de-list 10 or 12 and aren't able to bring in enough talent through free agency and/or trades (in October) .
  7. We desperately need to get some experienced talent in that October trade month . If we can snag 2 or 3 decent free agents and maybe trade for some talented 20-23 yo's it will lift our spirits . Apparently we have a 'War Chest' !
  8. We're losing a player every 10 hours 'od' . They're droppin' like flies . Who's next ?
  9. Not a bad idea 'dl' , in all seriousness . We need some positive stuff and lord knows , a bit of luck !
  10. Ha ! We can't walk out , can we Willo ? We're trapped ! I had a tiger supporter mate once tell me that he hoped his team would merge so he wouldn't have to barrack for them anymore ! How sad is that ?
  11. Players are disappearing off the banner like 'Green Machine's' Posted Image's .

Here's a couple of podcasts by Bill Simmons and his Cousin Sal of ESPN . They usually do a weekly podcast during the season where they do a preview for the weeks upcoming games . In these 2 podcasts they do their season predictions . Although their podcasts are mainly lighthearted and quite often funny , they are also quite informative ... B.S.Report part 1 ... http://espn.go.com/e...play?id=8313963 B.S.Report part 2 ... http://espn.go.com/e...play?id=8317602 Season kicks off on Thurs (10am AEST) . Dallas @ NY Giants .

Gunners win 2 - 0 at Anfield . Liverpool dominated for a fair portion of the game but couldn't convert . Podolski scored a nice opening goal for Arsenal . Happy for my Hammers to get Andy Carroll on loan for the season . On the surface of things , it did seem an odd decision by Liverpool to let him go . He helped West Ham win against Fulham although he did strain a hamstring late in the game . Lofty heights for the Hammers - currently 6th !
  15. I'll have to consult my 'Ghost writer' Damon Seriously , the club could employ a team of 'recruiters' from 'land and not do any worse . We would bring a 'No more spuds' policy to the table ! Kicking skills a priority and any given recruit needs to have a semblance of pace . That'll do for starters !
  16. Whoever was giving out these 'Best' players was being ultra generous . Especially in round 19 against the Cats . I often struggle to come up with 1 good player in most of our losses (in the last 6 years) . But I'm a hard marker . Happy to agree to disagree though, Tony . I'm sure there's many other issues where we'll be on the same page . It often happens that way on these forums .
  17. The thread is about Moloney but that doesn't mean you can't add context . In fact , context should nearly always come into it . It's not only about Moloney , it can't be . There are connections everywhere and those 'other' things need to be brought into the discussion . By your reckoning if we have a thread about Neeld ,we can't mention previous FD's ? Misson ? Admin issues ? Amount of talent on the list ? etc etc . Apart from Jones and Clark this season , can you give me one player who has put his hand up in our losses ? This year or in the previous 5 years ? I don't see why Moloney should take the heat for other players failings .
  18. Yep , in our multitude of losses in the last 6 years , we've had very few good individual performances . Apart from Jones and Clark this season , I can't think of anyone else in previous years who has 'Put their hand up' in our losses (apart from the odd game) And we don't need our poor tally of Brownlow votes for confirmation . It just stands out . At least in the dark days of the 70's and 80's we had various players who played well in our losses . Our lack of A grade talent is a glaring weakness and it has been since Neitz finished playing .
  19. What complicates things is that Brent is a RFA and he's got a much bigger profile that many others . I don't see him as victim in any way , shape or form . You obviously don't rate the bloke and you're entitled to your opinion . I do rate the bloke and believe it's in the best interests of the club to get the best out of him . My point re players getting a reprieve : It's my reckoning that we've got about 14 - 16 players on our list who for one reason or another are under pressure to hold their spot . That's based on a few things - games played this year , performances this year , contract status etc etc . Some are these 'said' players are contracted as well and at last count , we've still got 14 - 16 players who are out of contract . Given that's it's not really feasible to 'move on' more than 10 players in any given year , it's my opinion that more than a few will get a reprieve . And some of them will be lucky . Here's the 'Contracts' thread . See rpfc's Post #171 for the most up to date list ... http://demonland.com...s/page__st__150
  20. He's disappointed me too . My point is he's got plenty of teammates who've had poor year's as well . Yet , the large majority of his teammates will be going around again . A few should count their blessings that they'll be given a reprieve. I'd like to see Neeld and Brent sit down together and see if they can nut this out . I hope the lines of communication have been left opened . Re our list : I can only give 10 players a pass mark this season . And Jones and Clark have been our only 'Good' players this year .
  21. He's the only real example people can come up with . Some might view him as an aberration . We have many on our list who have gone backwards or have had forgettable years . 1 legitimate win is the proof .
  22. Hard to argue on that . So let's point the finger at every player . This year , we haven't even been able to reproduce the flat track bully bit . Even that's gone .
  23. In our 13 losses last year our Club received a total of 8 Brownlow votes . Moloney 3 , Sylvia 3 , Howe 1 and Jones 1 . So where were ALL the rest of them ? The rest of 34/35 players on our list who couldn't get 1 Brownlow vote between them in these losses ! Did they ALL go missing ? Actually , Moloney polled better than everyone else (bar Sylvia) in our losses last year . Or maybe we just had 40 'Flat track bullies' ?
  24. It seems that Brent just doesn't suit Neeld's needs . Moloney has been an 'Attacking' midfielder his entire career and realistically , Neeld was never going to be able to change that . It hasn't worked out but not every coach is the same and not all teams play the same style . A 'big bodied' attacking midfielder like Brent could be just the type of player that could fill a clubs needs . Ironically , our club needs that type of player . The knock on Moloney (previously) was that he didn't play 'Great' against the good sides . But none of our players have done that in the last 6 years (consistently) . If he goes , I wish him all the best .
