Time to go Goody?
Fair enough, you probably need to call them out when you call out the coach ... as there is a direct connection

Time to go Goody?
Fringe players? I don't see much talent there and there's about 6-8 in the Seniors who are VFL standard as well But I agree that Goodwin has been too loyal to the (so-called) senior players ... but that doesn't give the players an out as they've decided to check out The premiership went to their heads and it didn't help when the club (not Goodwin) decided to offer them long term juicy contracts Chances are we're going to be stuck with a bunch of lame ducks

Time to go Goody?
BECAUSE OF THE PLAYERS PICKET FFS haha
-
Time to go Goody?
The players are looking after themselves and are a bunch of lazy no-hopers Unless we turn the list over we are in for years of pain. This current group is taking us backwards at a rate of knots

Time to go Goody?
We've won 6 games with a supposedly good list of players. We are chokers And I'm not a Goodwin fan, I just don't see why he should lose his job when the players have turned into lazy bludgers It's you who is letting the players off the hook They are in self-preservation mode and it's clear to see The flag went to their heads

Time to go Goody?
I don't care what you've got to say. I usually skim past your posts And you keep quoting me bud, I'm just replying You've just chucked in your membership all because you don't like the coach How childish

Time to go Goody?
Don't punish the club because you're dissatisfied with the coach If you get your wish, he'll be gone soon enough anyway I'm totally dissatisfied with the players efforts but won't be becoming a non-member justbbecause they've laid down the tools (and they have) Here's how it goes ... most of the angst goes against the coach but if the coach is sacked the ire goes to the players And we aren't going to start winning in a hurry with a new coach so the players can expect the full barrage if we don't start winning Not individual players either, all of them

On who's authority? Yours? The same person has just spat the dummy and relinquished his membership Where's the cred?

Time to go Goody?
Rubbish Don't you ever tire of correcting people. The demonland resident Mr. Correction But this time you are wrong but won't admit it Goodwin had a different role in 2021 and that's a fact. And Yze was calling the shots from upstairs. Fact Give it up Laddie, you're cooked on this argument and have been found out again Stick to the gossip and your worshipping of Caro & Cornes And you don't get to decide when a discussion point is over. Who do you think you are?

Time to go Goody?
Yes, their skills kill ours. And their fast ball movement will find us out Our best hope is against the Hawks (if we can kick straight) and maybe the Pies if they have nothing to play for (Ladder-wise) I would just love to see the confusion on this thread if we somehow rally and finish off the season well! haha Reality is we'll beat the Eagles and almost certainly lose our last 3

Time to go Goody?
Just to clarify At the end of 2020 there was enormous pressure on Goodwin to be sacked And we now know that 2 MFC board members met with the AFL to find a way to pay Goodwin out Up until then Goodwin had coached from upstairs calling all the shots So when we went into the 2021 season suddenly Goodwin was coaching from the bench and the newly appointed Adem Yze was upstairs calling the shots and making moves If that's not a demotion I'll go he Now, Dizzle will probably call me a liar again but the above did actually happen Was it broadcast to the World? No. But it did happen

Time to start a rebuild?
I've mentioned this before on this thread but we looked to have started a rebuild (of sorts) in the 2023 off season and then last year Regardless of the outcomes, moving up to get 2 first round picks in both drafts was an aggressive move So let's hope it pays off But right now, I believe we need to take some short term pain and hit the trade table hard Previously, I mentioned that we could end up with a swathe of picks but we also need some quality experienced, switched on players with pace & skills Not easily attained but if the FD are honest about where they see the list, we need to be pro-active in changing the make-up of the list before Tassie come in to the draft My doubts surround where the FD sees the list and also, our ability to be able to offload players in trades For instance, a player on a long term contract (on good coin) is not easily traded if their form is bog average. We don't want a fire-sale situation

May to Tribunal
The blatant corruption is astonishing But they are a law unto themselves and prefer to make it up as they go along. For their ideal outcomes The big one for me was Cripps. For decades that thug act saw the perpetrator rubbed out as a matter of course Then, suddenly there was a loophole? What loophole? Total BS And then May holds his ground and gets 3? It was an accident Where as the Cripps & Maynard incidents were deliberate acts

Time to go Goody?
The players are out there losing the game. If you were 1 of the players would you blame the coach? I know I certainly wouldn't have It was a pea-hearted effort from the players and they should be ashamed of themselves We could blame Goodwin for the game plan but that same game plan saw us dominate the game for 3 quarters No, the players got ahead of themselves again Gawn, Viney, Petracca & Oliver should have made sure of the win They failed miserably, again

Time to go Goody?
Well a few years ago he won a flag for us with an untainted list Now, the list is a rabble I'm not expecting the team to improve under a possible new coach ... unless, we trade aggressively and clear out the deadwood (that's if anyone wants them) Same sort of list? 10 wins Max, bub. They are past their use-by date The game has passed by many of our players. Most of all we are too slow in the legs. Plodders everywhere e.g. ... as soon as the Saints woke up yesterday and used their leg speed, we were left floundering. It took one quarter after we had dominated for 3 quarters We are easily exposed. Goodwin's error is sticking with players who he should have moved on. Being loyal has cost him
-
Time to go Goody?
Would he? Gee wizz, that would mean that our bunch of no-hopers would have to actually listen, learn & adapt I can't see it as I reckon at least half our list is cooked Maybe with an overhauled list but we could do that with Goodwin still in charge
-
Time to go Goody?
The football world would know about the baggage surrounding a number of our players ... as would a new, perspective coach That's if Goodwin is moved on of course A win against the Eagles and improved efforts against the Bulldogs, Hawks & Pies will probably see Goodwin survive into next season (there's the financial hit to consider as well) The players would be fully aware of the pressure coming at Goodwin? Will they lift for their coach and somehow snag a win or 2 in the last 3 rounds? We're capable but which version of the team will turn up? Lose to the Eagles and all bets are off
-
Time to go Goody?
Spot on and that's the way I see it as well 'Just do enough' The trouble is that they've taken advantage of Goodwin's caring nature for the players. So we end up with the cart before the horse But in my view he'll ultimately be the fall guy and the players will get off the hook However, I well remember that Adelaide cleared out McGuiness, McDermott, Anderson & Andrew Jarman before Blight took over (under instructions from the incumbent?) Perhaps history will repeat as the Crows won 2 flags starting from Blight's 2nd year

Time to go Goody?
Not sure, buddy What do you reckon?
-
Time to go Goody?
Not only that but the Oliver fiasco and various other off-field incidents We're not a happy team and there's a disconnect amongst the senior players They are just playing for themselves and our general teamwork is woeful We've gone from selfless to selfish in a very short space of time. Every man for themselves Sure, we can turn it on at times but we're like Jeckyl & Hyde. Can't be trusted The coach might be on his way out but the list needs to be turned over. We need hungry experienced talent and we need to clear out the deadwood Any player who wants out needs to be traded
-
Time to go Goody?
Goodwin won't be quitting Who walks away from $Millions? Not going to happen Of much greater concern is the state of the list. We won't be challenging for finals anytime soon even with a new coach We're too slow and we look old. Skills are woeful and many of the players have checked out anyway We've got a mountain of problems
-
Time to go Goody?
As for the players ... Coach killers just like in 2011 & 2013 They rule the roost and I'm surprised more people here can't see it They've let themselves down, the jumper and the coach But they'll still receive their fat cheques. Lazy bludgers
-
Time to go Goody?
And I'm not your mate You take a walk Laddie Anyway, you'll probably get your wish with Goodwin but the make-up of the team will still be full of plodders
-
Time to go Goody?
I tell no lies The reason it was not included in the review is quite obvious so you and others need to learn how to read between the lines He was very nearly sacked back then and why would he voluntarily put himself on the bench whilst leaving all the game-day moves to Yze You are the one who needs to stop telling lies about me Stick to gossip, that's what you are good at. How many gossip threads have you started here? 200? Wake up

Time to go Goody?
Of course it wasn't mentioned Are you aware of how spin works in sport? Goodwin went close to being sacked in late Sept 2020 so they made changes to his role instead Wake wakey dizzle
