  1. Neale being a pick in the 50's was going to be a story one way or the other And recruiters don't go out to pick poor players ... that's just the way things turn out Prendergast picked Gawn at pick 36 and we've done well more recently with trading or swapping top end picks or reshuffling picks or in fact the use of them ... May, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Viney etc etc Melksham, Hibberd, Fritsch etc have been good pick ups for 2nd rounders as well Drafting - you win some, you lose some The reality of drafting is that it's an inexact science and probably always will be. As previously stated, no big deal
  2. Well it's not a complete lottery as you've got a much better chance of unearthing a star with a top 10 pick as opposed to a pick in the 50's but nonetheless, drafting is flawed.
  3. The same people who moan relentlessly about skewiff results re drating also often freely admit that drafting is an inexact science. Go figure. Trying to place high school age footballers into some sort of numbered order is an exercise in futility. Lachie Neale joins an extensive list of late draft picks who turned out to be guns. The reverse applies of course ... top order picks are often complete busts I don't see what the big deal is. It is what it is

  6. I got a number of collects but all the dividends were small. For instance got both exactas in the 2 feature races but was hoping for some value runners getting into the finish. I still haven't seen any of the races yet but the class prevailed in the Everest & Caulfield Cup. I'll post up the replays with some comments soon enough Might fare better at Ascot (UK) tonight. 4 Group 1's & a Group 2 beginning just after 11.00pm tonight. And Sha Tin tomorrow!
  7. I'm all in with the Team ADATR pick You don't like Behemoth? haha
  8. And now the give in the ground is in Verry Elleegant's favour ... and she was the nominal favourite beforehand. The one to beat I'm including a couple of the lightweight chances though. The Everest is arguably a harder race to evaluate as nearly all 12 runners can win. But if the big boy gets the right run from barrier 2 (as he often does from the inside barriers) he'll at least get into the top 3 Could be a blanket finish though with so many classy sprinters assembled. 2 really good betting races and probably the best Caulfield Cup line up for a time too
  9. Going to have a couple of box trifectas in the Everest & Caulfield Cup I really like Gorg's tip in the Everest (Behemoth) and there are a few other swoopers like Classique Legend & Libertini who could future. And Gytrash has done nothing wrong. Bivouac and Nature Strip are 2 others that can get into the finish. But which Nature Strip will turn up? It's a high class field and we might see another track record on a fast track As for the Caulfield Cup, there are any number of good chances. I've got Verry Elleegant on top but Anthony Van Dyke looks the real danger. Master of Wine? Maybe. Lightweight chances Dalasan & Toffee Tongue could swoop home whilst Finche & Buckhurst can't be ruled out. There are a host of chances though. Tough betting race but the exotic dividends should be very good
  10. 3 best bets in (so far) with all 3 choices capable of getting into the money. Big big chances, all of the choices All 3 at the place paying 15-1 in a 3 leg multi whilst if all 3 salute you can get 400-1 That's got to be worth the price of a coffee for a wager

As it turned out the Bills game was the trap game and caught a lot of us out. So no one picked up any points in a week where only 5 road teams won (but who was ever going to pick the Raiders or the Dolphins!) Only the 1 point on offer for week 6 but any points are valuable of course. And with regards to any future postponed games, it might be best to wait & see or just wait things out Leaderboard Tipping Comp 4 - Gorgoroth, Clintosaurus, Go the Biff, titan_uranus, DeeSpencer 2 - Dee Zephyr, DemonDave, Macca 1 - Layzie, JV7, Dr. Gonzo
  12. Best Bet Saturday Caulfield Race 5 No.3 Starelle 4.40/1.65 Damien Oliver should be able to find a nice run for the horse in the straight. Especially with the gaps appearing over the mile and a quarter. The place dividend adds nicely to a multi but it can definitely win if at its best

  15. I made the mistake of including the Russian as the banker. You live & learn. I reckon Red Chase & Dirty Work both for the place were better bankers. They looked morals to get into the finish and both were paying $2 the place early doors Add in Ole Kirk, Montefilia, Swats That, Windstorm or Criaderas and it's collect City! A lot of shorties saluted today. What do they say ... "Find the winner and then back it for the place" (or multi them up for the place)
  16. er ... no JV Russian Camelot put me out of my multi's (there's always one) Small outlays though so no biggie. 3 from 4 or 2 from 3. If the Russian salutes I would have cleaned right up That's racing Wasn't down by much though and the weekend's racing isn't done with yet No Moreira at Sha Tin tomorrow so Zac can get amongst it. He's on a number of favourites that can win
  17. Got a few collects and I usually do well late in the day but not today. Got a late winner at Doomben but down a little overall. Still, there's a few I like at Newmarket tonight ? Well done on Odeum ... a much improved performer. It was a day where the forgive-file horses prevailed ... Mr Quickie, Chapada, Arcadia Queen & Fiesta. And I wasn't on any of them! haha Ole Kirk is a good horse ... very impressive. And Pikey rode 4 winners and a couple of placings.
  18. Great result ... its turn of foot in the last 250m is very very good. Might get an Everest run as I believe there's at least 1 slot still open But the Queen salutes in the Caulfield Stakes! Arcadia Queen is back and right back into Cox Plate calculations. I was on Russian Camelot in a couple of multi's but kudos to the winner Way too good and the 2000m distance was ideal by the sounds of it (only audio here)
  19. Got it going in a couple of small multi's

We're still trying to figure out what to do re any postponed games but having a sub game probably won't be in operation. It becomes too cumbersome to moderate especially if another random game is also postponed (like the Cards or Rams game that you've included) As we know, COVID-19 can strike randomly and without notice. So just the 3 picks and if a game or games are postponed we either wait for the result of the games to be played at later date, count the game as a win or award half points if one's other picks are successful It's damn annoying because a simple & easy comp becomes complicated and difficult to operate However, I reckon the Americans might adopt 'The Show Must Go On' as a default mode. So we may not see many games being postponed for very long anyway And if that happens, we just wait for the weeks games to be completed. I like your initiative though! Be good if your J.E.T.S could show a bit of initiative hey?
  21. Well the ADATR crew are with 'I Am Superman in the Group 1 Toorak Hcp but here's a quick appraisal of the other 4 Group 1 races being run tomorrow Star filly Montefilia might start the marginal favourite in the Spring Champion Stakes up at Randwick but 'Love Tap' & 'Cherry Tortoni' can provide some spirited opposition. 'Bucharest', 'Street Dancer' & 'Socrates' are 3 roughies who might get into the finish Hard to not see 'Russian Camelot' winning the Caulfield Stakes but the horse is a bit of a rogue at the barriers so it's buyer beware. Multi only @ $1.55 for the win. Arcadia Queen just hasn't lived up to expectations this Spring but should get into the finish along with Humidor or Harbour Views The Thousand Guineas looks a race in 2 between 'Hungry Heart' & 'Instant Celebrity' but this race can often throw up surprise winners ... Vangelic, Thermosphere, Odeum, Personal, Agreeable & Night Raid all have claims. One for the exotics unless you prefer 1 of the top 2 And the Caulfield Guineas is a really good betting race. Decent odds to be had if you can find the winner. Exotics again possibly but King's Legacy, Ole Kirk & Mo'unga all bring strong Sydney form. Of the locals, Tagaloa heads the list with Crosshaven & Amish Boy providing some value
  22. Be nice if it all came together Gorg At least we're all on some classy performers. And all 3 have been well supported in the market Your choice (I Am Superman) should get a nice run in the race (according to the Racenet speedmap) Should latch onto the back of Buffalo River coming into the straight
  23. The place multi is paying 8-1 whilst if all 3 win you can get 175-1 ... Red Chase is the closing leg for those looking at the 'Early' double Should be a great days racing with 4 x Group 1's at Caulfield where the track might end up getting to a Good4 status (unless we get more rain) Some very good racing up at Randwick as well with 5 Stakes races to be run Good luck to all having a flutter tomorrow
  24. Don't forget that many vote through their hip pocket and any number of people can't stand left wing political party's. Or left wing anything ... especially in America What we're seeing is anothet side of America that has always existed. Oddly enough the USA's left wing is nowhere as left it is here in Oz. Or in European Countries. I view the Democrats as a scaled down right wing party. They are not exactly socialists Jaded
  25. I understand who you are barracking for and who you are against but that was not the point of my post. And as with most things in life, what you want and what you're going to get are often 2 different things diets And it's not Trump who you should necessarily be concerned with, it's more so who votes for him. Often Alt-Right types. Scary people And I believe that Trump exists in some ways because of the left ... more so the loonie left. There is a fair percentage of people who just cannot stand the left. And vice-versa of course To me watching this all unfold is like watching a sporting event that comes down to the wire And just to be clear I'm not labeling all those on the right to be alt-right nor are all those on the left to be loonies. I know plenty who vote right who couldn't possibly vote for Trump but they wouldn't vote for the left either. Quite the dilemma As for the left, Biden wouldn't necessarily be their choice either but Axis of Bob makes a very good case for Biden in an above post Everything might be decided with the State of Florida ... the only State to consistently vote in the president in 3 or 4 decades.
