  1. If Tippet plays then we must bring in Jamar. Jake will need a chop out and Pedo will be required down back.

Would love to see Garlo back to play the third up role.

Would love to get my first look at Salem.

If Kent is fit he comes strait back.

    Riley a sneaky chance?

  2. Some of Cometti's best work.

'If he kicks this there is no telling what the score will be'

'if they keep winning they will be hard to beat this season'

On Brock McLean - "wow he is deceptively slow"

One of his and my favourites 'he crept up on him like a librarian, no one heard him coming'

    Bruce's best of all time.

Collingwood v West coast approx. 8 years ago, both Shannon and Dean Cox playing. Dean Cox goes for a run down the wing, what followed next still make me laugh to this day.

'ohhhh Denis, I like Cox, not little Cox, big Cox'

  3. I'm disappointed with missing an opportunity to grab a win, however I look at it differently to many others. We have a game plan for the first time in 5 years. With a bit of cleaning up (turnovers & goal kicking) we will be competitive and we will sneak a few wins. With the enclusion of key players throughout the early part of the season and the confidence that will grow from playing together we will see significant improvement as the season progresses. I understand and share the disappointment but hold your judgment , we will the small things right that we didn't last night and we will steadily improve. There is light.

  4. I was shot down on the Clark thread after the footy show interview when i stated...

"And i hate to be a pessimist but after watching Hulk on the footy show with Gazza the other night, i wouldn't be holding my breath on his return this year either. He looked shattered IMO. Hopefully it was just over the thought of missing a few games and the start of the season and nothing more serious. Body language not good though."

I still stand by that view. Yes like everyone, i'm hoping for a very early return, but i'm now prepared for the fact that we might not see him until some time in the 2nd half of the season (assuming the injury isn't career threatening).

I await further arrows and barbs lol

No barbs or arrows, however The update on the website says he's back running and will be back doing contested work this week or next. Positive news

  5. My impression from this thread is that the Chicken Littles are in the minority. I think most understand this isn't a surprising result, albeit a slightly disappointing one. I'm still confident we can and should get a win in Round 1.

I agree, just frustrated by the minority. I don't see this as a set back and am still positive that this year will be one of rapid (in perspective) improvement.

  6. During Neeld's reign we begged and pleaded for an experienced coach who would-

    Teach the basics...tick

    Instil confidence in our players...tick

Provide hope to members and supporters...tick

Improve our onfeild performance...tick (although early doors)

    & sell the club

PR is doing all of the above, and some want to question the ability of a proven premiership coach to perform his roll because of a 15 minute segment on a high rating football show once a week...give me a spell.
