How are people expecting that by playing a second ruckman that will nullify the jumping into Gawn?
Are we going to play Gawn forward all day as whenever he goes into the ruck they will still jump into him.
If we play Spencer in the ruck they can also jump into him as well, so basically we play 2 ruckman and the opposition just jump into both of them, we end up playing our best ruckman forward and our ummm lets call him our insurance in the ruck all day and he gets beaten comprehensively.

"Zorko wins it from the centre, spots Schache deep, kicks long, Dawes uses the body well...... OOHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO HES DROPPED IT, goal Lions. How did he drop that, dear oh dear, how has Paul Roos managed to not pull his hair out"

Yes, but who - that is the problem and why I think they'll stick with Harmes, Oliver and Kennedy for another week.
Further to this we are playing Brisbane - who will be revved up, but will be without their two best midfielders.
Given we are playing the Lions, I have had another thought.
There is one more player who may be considered and that's Weideman. He's been handy (without dominating) at VFL level and they may just feel it's time to blood him at AFL level and try and fast-track him a bit against a weaker side. If that's the case then Pedo will miss, unless of course Lumumba is another week away and they decide to go with a bigger line-up.
Are we also fast tracking him into ruck? I'm sure that 80kg frame of his will be fine.

Short memory. Our very own Neville Jetta missed 4 weeks last season with a similar issue to Brayshaw.
Isn't memory issues something can be developed from multiple concussions?

Credit to Watts, he was no where to be seen in the first half.
Been a good presence in the second.

The one saving grace is that we play the Lions at the G. I'd be a nervous wreck if it was being played at Etihad.
The Melbourne v Brisbane game was on the while I was flying back from London, I was quite happy to know that when I walked in the door with little sleep that the replay was going to be on.
Worst game of football I watched all last year, if theres a repeat of that next week I'll walkout regardless if we're winning or not.

After coming in the last couple of days, it seems Melbourne are rapidly sliding back out in the pre-game odds. Late change? Perhaps someone knows something about a spearhead forward or midfield general not coming up? MFCSS paranoia setting in.
Odds are like a seesaw, when you put weight (money) on one end the other end goes up.
It doesn't necessarily indicate that a big name out.

I must be missing something...
I actually don't understand the argument on Hall, Lynch,Hunter, Dawes and Cloke.
If anything they actually prove you point ( excepting Dawes and Hunter).
Hall in his premiership year (2005) took a massive 206 marks and kicked 80 goals ! He was AA, and AFLCA player of the year (2nd in their B&F)
Lynch in his premiership year (2006) took 143 marks and kicked 65 goals ( 7th in their B&F)
Cloke took a whopping 171 marks in his premiership year of 2010 and kicked 38 goals but also kicked 40 behinds
Hunter still kicked 29 goals in their premiership year but was a swingman at both ends of the ground
Dawes was second fiddle to Cloke and he still kicked 30 goals for the year.
Big power forwards like Hall, Lynch, Jono Brown, Franklin, Roughead and Hawkins have been instrumental in getting their teams premierships.
This is highly underrated, Hunter virtually played CHB for the whole season and kicked 29 goals.

MFC: "Hi, I would like to renew my ruck insurance policy for another 12 months"
Agent: "Have you had any claims in the last 12 months?"
MFC: "Yes, one ding... I mean King, we weren't at fault"
Agent: "Ah ok, you'll be looking at an excess increase of $50k for the next 12 months"

What's with Lumumba. When did his concussion occur?
Probably just before he called himself the Prince.

I converted from soccer in year 6 and 7 as I thought it would be easier to kick a goal.
How wrong I was... a short forward pocket that wasn't quick and didn't want to get involved in a contest, kicked 3 behinds in my first season including 2 in one game.

You don't need to play footy at any specific level to be articulate on the subject, Luke Darcy is a perfect example.

I wouldn't mind Pittard from Port though, ooc end of next season.
Be a nice addition to our defence.
Agreed, we're missing that Pittard / Polec type that can play off half back / wing.

I'd prefer Kelly. Quicker and a beautiful kick. Scully kicks it like a VFL player. Up and under every time.
Kelly just doesn't get enough of the ball though, Scully has been getting mid 20's each week.

I maybe wrong, but I'm under the impression that when they name the side, if your named on the ground it means your in unless your a late withdrawal to injury/illness.
The final bench is what gets cut down to 4.
