This is definitely going to be another one of those drinks by midday type of trade period. LET ME LIVE MELBOURNE!

When it comes to Petracca, Tom Morris is rarely wrong. He gets his information straight from the source, if you get my jist.

Not sure if Humphrey will nominate us if he knows GC are hell bent on keeping him. It leaves him in a bad position with GC/ his teammates if he asks to leave and his wish is not granted. I wonder how much of this is GC posturing as we want Humphrey + a pick, and whether in the end we will agree on a straight swap. I hope like hell our club doesn't do what it usually does, and bends over backwards for a player who wants out. Humphrey, or get to work in red and blue, a club you happily committed to on big money.

I would rather burn my eyes than see Clarry at the Pies Please god no!

Or did we stalk him on his morning walk

Clarry is more loved by his teammates than Trac is right now You can keep pretending that Trac isn’t a problem or you can realize that we are entertaining trading him because he is.

It’s not the facilities. It’s the cry babies inside that’s the problem Boo hoo I get paid a million dollars and my weights aren’t gold plated.

Because both these scenarios were total fantasy?

So Trac’s diva behavior is not at all a cultural issue? Sure thing.

This is worse than the time Demonland thought we’d get Chris Judd

I’ll eat my membership scarf if we accept this type of deal. I’ll also burn down Casey.

We didn’t let him walk last year when the situation was nuclear. Think we made it clear that he’s not tradable at any price. Doesn’t mean it’s not gonna be bloody hard to walk him back thru the door, but a new coach means it’s easier as there’s fresh air

Hawks can’t get a deal done. They have nothing to give GC. So if Humphrey wants to go to the Hawks he has to wait until he’s OOC or hope Hawks can get assets next year to make it happen.

The good news is that with Trac’s salary gone and half of Clarry’s gone, money is absolutely not going to be why Humphrey says no thanks. The biggest hurdle here is getting him to ask for a trade to us. If we can get that, the deal with work out.

The club has said publicly and privately they are not trading Petracca for picks alone. Yet people keep saying that is what we will do. How spineless do you think we are?

Humphrey is a flight risk. Always has been. When he’s OOC he will have 17 suitors and GC won’t be getting a Trac in return for him. So you either take the risk that you can win a flag with him while contracted without Trac, or you jump at the opportunity to grab a proven star that will bring a lot of attention and value to your club, as well as help you win a flag. It’s a risk either way for the Suns. But Dimma has to decide if Trac is more valuable to him now than Humphrey is in 3 years, when he may or may not be able to convince him to stay.

Not at all. Mostly back ended in line with cap increases.

Firstly it wouldn’t when you have an opportunity like this thrown your way. Secondly how do you know this boat trip wasn’t planned already and Clarry was invited along? If this was a long planned meeting they’d meet at the club to have a look around the facilities etc. like how Trac had a casual chat with Dimma first then went for a proper meeting. This doesn’t scream “signing a contract” in the same way that a walk around the Tan in a hoodie doesn’t scream professional long planned meeting that wasn’t thrown together last second.

I’m kinda confused what the point of this thread is now if I’m being honest. I lost the core of the argument like 5 pages ago

Fair enough. I have no idea if Toby was there. I just know they’re good mates.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Is that not Toby? Either way there are half a dozen feet in that photo and I can’t say that I can match feet to faces
-

He is actually very good friends with Toby. They were very close when Toby was at Melbourne.

Or, wait for it, he has friends in Sydney he wanted to catch up with on the way. Also possible that he pushed his flight out by a day to accommodate a last minute meeting with GWS. It’s not that hard to figure out.
