I wonder if Petty will suddenly decide to stay when we inevitably put a multi million dollar extension in front of him, something we didn’t do last year when we had a lot of other things going on and Gus was still on the books. Let us see how this plays out. I still don’t think the ā€œgo homeā€ factor is real given where his family live. It could just be about his partner who I believe is from SA. But hey, for millions of dollars he could pay for her to relocate to a far superior city šŸ˜‰
  2. While it’s a well written article, all I have to say to the AFL Media right now is STFU. You feasted on our issues in the off season like a pack of starving vultures. Now we won two games against mediocre opponents and suddenly we are in the good books?
  3. In conclusion, Tom Morris and WCW are possibly the same person šŸ˜‚
  4. I reckon the FD have Nibbler’s name written in permanent marker on the whiteboard. And rightly so.
  5. That’s great news if true
  6. Not winning the flag last year will haunt me for a long time. It was ours for the taking, but injuries, bad kicking and one POS who shall remain nameless, ruined it. Supporters will say we are no good because of our straight set exists, and that is definitely something we need to own. But we have been a dominant side for 3 years in a row now and we need to not lose sight of that.
  7. Who cares when they fly to Adelaide? Are you their wives? Let the club do what they think will work best for this absolute BS of a fixture we’ve been lumped with.
  8. Would be fantastic if he could come in against Adelaide. Will especially help if Petty needs to play down back in the absence of May and/or BB needs a rest.
  9. Salem was moved to the backline immediately once May came off not because he’s a like for like, but because he helps with leadership and direction. I suggest the same will happen this week. This is where losing Gus just sucks even more. He would be the general down back in the absence of either May or Lever.
  10. We need @Webber to help us stay calm.

Hogan gave us May and it worked out very well for us. I’m genuinely happy for Hogan. It was never going to work out for him at Melbourne. Nothing worth lamenting.
  12. If you want to end up with 3 broken ribs maybe
  13. I just spoke to my friend who is a GP and she said 6 weeks for 3 ribs.
  14. How the actual [censored] does one have multiple broken ribs and maybe a broken vertebrae and only miss up to two games? 😳 If that was me I’d be out for 10-15 years.
  15. If he only misses one game at most that is a very very good result, considering half of Demonland was melting down that he’s done his ACL šŸ™„
  16. I’ve genuinely never had issues with Hawks fans beyond being arrogant when they were a powerhouse side, which I don’t think is unusual for any supporter group. However on the train ride home yesterday, a bunch of highly intoxicated meathead Hawks fans were incredibly aggressive and abusive to the Melbourne fans, including the kids around them. Dropping f bombs, threatening to beat up anyone who told them to be quiet etc. It was disgusting and downright scary behaviour. I was relieved they got off the train soon after my dad did or I would have removed myself and waited for another train. In 2024 I would think this type of [censored] would be reserved only for the lowest of Collingwood scums, but apparently not. Haven’t felt this unsafe since the Pies final last year. Not ok!
  17. He’s less of a tool in yellow and brown. It helps that he’s no longer being egged on by a bunch of halfwits in the stands. Although my train ride home was incredibly unpleasant thanks to a pack of drunk Hawks fans aggressively swearing and chanting profanities against the Melbourne fans on the train. Absolute morons.
  18. I was behind the goals and 100% that was touched well before the line. It wasn’t a goal and a review was not needed.
  19. I was behind the goals and so I saw him quite a bit at both ends. He looked ok to me. He wasn’t his usual self at ground level, but for someone coming back from one of the most serious injuries you can have, and with little pre season, he looked ok. I think May and Lever going down didn’t help our plan to possibly sub him off. He will be better for the run.
  20. Really? He looked pretty good to me. Shame he missed those two early shots on goal. He slotted nicely down back too.
  21. I’m more disappointed that McAdams is still not fit and Turner is injured.
  22. I reckon his footy life has been pretty good to date and $1million a year would make it even better.
