  1. I'll be driving only because I work around the corner from the G. I suggest trying to find street parking off Swan St. The bastards have turned most of it into a 2 hour zone until 9pm, which is annoying, but if you come early you should be OK to find a 2 hour stop until 5pm
  2. The love for Kent is odd. He has had a shocking start to the season, both defensively and in front of goal. A small forward who hasn't laid a tackle and can't kick goals. What a loss! He has stuff he needs to improve on, and luckily we have replacements in the VFL who deserve their chance. Like everyone else, I don't know how Melksham is still in the team after his putrid performance last week. I guess tonight is last chance saloon for him.
  3. Have the AFL even bothered looking at other integral issues such as the LED lighting around the ground, the colour of the hats the kids selling pies are wearing, or why my MCG reserved seat is always covered in bird poop?
  4. To be fair we are lamenting recruiting Melksham because he's not a very good player.
  5. Melksham has been horrible, and as someone else mentioned, we can't carry two players in the side who haven't played for a year. For me, it's simple changes In: Hogan, Hibberd Out: Weids, Melksham I think Hannan adds a nice dimension to our forwardline, and I'd leave him in at the moment. Edit: I'd be happy to see Pedo in the side, if we feel it's better for balance
  6. My Essendon friend hasn't stopped laughing since we recruited this guy. He's laughing even louder now. Complete liability.
  7. Yeah he's great when he doesn't need to defend. Was nowhere near an opponent all day and his man McCartney ripped us apart. Was horrid and has zero awareness.
  8. Thought he had a good game and got better as the day went on. Was pleased with his marking and ground level work. Got smashed in the hitouts but I kind of expected it against Sandilands.
  9. No leadership. Again. Senior players gave us nothing today except Watts who was pretty exceptional. It's a real shame when with 3 minutes to go, game in the balance, you have Hannan and Salem and Oliver in the square.
  10. Can someone explain to me why the hell Frost got a game ahead of Oscar?! Frost is a defensive liability. Got torn a new one today.
  11. A [censored] disgrace of a game. Defensive effort gone to [censored] this year.
  12. No leadership out there. I hope Viney is injured because I tell you what, he has totally given up today.
  13. Disgusting. Melbourne of 2013. Welcome back. I missed you and your total lack of awareness and leadership.
  14. So Melbourne to give away a goal on the siren. It's like a signature move.
  15. Our kicking is *insert poo emoji*
  16. Really surprised me this season, as I've gone off him a bit. He is so much better in the midfield than as a half forward. I thought he was fantastic on the weekend again. Well done to him, a real credit to break into our midfield at the moment and hold your own.
  17. Yeah pretty ordinary performance not to crack the 30 disposals mark.
  18. Ummmm what? Smoking reduces your lung capacity, which is a key factor of having elite aerobic capacity, which is a key component of being a good AFL player. Not to mention that smoking causes a whole range of diseases, and as a side note, that AFL players are (even if they don't want to be) role models for young kids. Plus many clubs have sponsors or associations with health organisations. Why the hell would clubs not frown upon players smoking?
  19. He might not be physically quick, but he's mentally very quick. One of those players who finds time and space, and also has superb awareness around the contest. Much like Watts, their basketball background gives them great spacial awareness which makes them able to almost "slow down" the play around them. On an unrelated note, I think people are judging Brayshaw harshly. He was superb in his 1st year and had a rotten run with injuries last season. He is a very talented player and a wonderful ball winner. I think he'll become a mainstay in our best 22 in the very near future. Not every player can do an Oliver. It's completely normal for a young mid to take 3-4 years to really hit their straps, especially when injury has curtailed their development. Just look at Salem, finally injury free and nicely hitting his straps.
  20. Anyone who ever lost a toe nail would know how damn painful it is! A mighty effort if he plays. No idea how he'd get his boots on. Heard today that Hibberd is due to play for Casey this weekend.
  21. Terrible devastating news for a player who was set for another huge year, and is really a very unique player who will be really hard to cover. Having said that, Spencer is an adequate centre square ruckman, and he has a golden opportunity to actually kick start his career. It's now or never for him, and from all reports, he is in good shape, and has had a good pre-season hitout. I believe our midfield is good enough to deal with this loss, it's the stuff Max does around the ground that is going to be difficult to cover.
  22. Really? I would hope the club says to him "you have a limited time in this game, so how about you be a professional and not do something that is very detrimental to both your health and your fitness?" I have no issues with him going home to visit his dad, but when the club has gone out of their way to accommodate a player who has done a selfish thing and got himself suspended, and probably cost us 4 points on the weekend, and he uses that time to go smoking with mates in a public place, that is a slap in the face. We have done nothing but support Jesse, in fact, we have gone above and beyond because of the potential player he could be. Would anyone cut this kind of slack to Watts? to McDonald? Imaging if Viney got caught doing this kind of thing. I know he's a kid, I know dealing with an ill parent must be awful, but gees he's pushing his luck here. You don't p*ss on the hand that feeds you. He might love the club and be motivated to succeed, but this looks like someone who doesn't give two shits about the club, and it's an awful look for our club, our sponsors and the supporters. I wouldn't go hanging him for this, but I would hope the club has a strong word to him about the ramifications of being caught smoking in public while on a forced holiday due to a damn silly suspension.
  23. Massive blow for us and Maxy Great it's not another knee injury, but this is the second worst outcome imaginable.
