I don’t agree. We are in very mediocre form and bottom sides come out with great intent against us while we often come out napping. 5 day break on top of that and this could end in tears.

He’s been playing more midfield this season. But has played half forward previously at Casey. Very similar to Chandler’s role at Casey.

Why is Petty out?

I think Laurie is more suited for that small forward role than Harmes.

What he did was bad and he deserved his suspension, but it's very much unlike him. He is a very hard player, but he hasn't ever done anything that isn't in the spirit of the game until that incident. I think psychologically he probably has it at the back of his head that players are now being suspended for a variety of high hits and tackles, and maybe he is second guessing himself. It's probably subconscious. He needs to lay one good big tackle and get rewarded for it, and I think the doubts will go away.

I wonder if his wife is Victorian. Might mean SA is off the table for him anyway. Regardless, he is a vital part of our team and he won't be going anywhere I am sure.

100% I think this is the issue. He is so physical but I think he's a bit scared about going too hard and getting suspended again. It's a fine balance and I am sure he will get there.

I only used those two as an example of elite midfielders. We definitely need to find another elite midfielder to complement them, especially with Viney getting older.

I am not sure why we've written off Ben Brown. Before his back injury he was having a good start to the season. I think we need to try him and JVR out in the same forwardline.

What if someone told you that player will be the next Oliver? The next Dusty? The next Petracca? Sometimes you have to take risks when you're wanting elite talent, and we are in the position with our list where we can take those risks.

Can't see this being an issue. I am sure it'll get done quickly and painlessly.

Yep, investing millions to expand the competition, but still won't invest money in professional umpiring. The AFL cares only about the money. They couldn't care less about the standard of umpiring.
