Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I donโt think we make this trade unless we have something else already in the pipeline. Either we are trying to get pick 1, or we have a big name trade that we need to acquire top 10 picks for.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
And? We donโt need points. We clearly donโt think we will take more than one maybe two picks in the draft (plus list upgrades etc). We are going all in on pick one. Bring it on.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Future picks don't need to come into this. 14 and Grundy for McLean is a very good deal and a win win for both teams as they both get something they really need.

Indeed, but Swans will want more for McLean.

Harrison Petty
If Petty wants to go home then heโs essentially saying he wants to go back to live in a country town and not play AFL. His โhomeโ is not Adelaide. Itโs not even near Adelaide. The lure might be his Adelaide based girlfriend, but at 23 that relationship may not last. Or his girlfriend might relocate to Melbourne. 2 years is a long time when you are 23 years old. Iโm not letting him go unless heโs categorically unwilling to stay or his foot is busted. We can always trade him next year while heโs contracted after he won us a flag kicking 50 goals ๐

Proof once again that draft picks are not always the Hail Mary we all hope they will be. For every Oliver and Trac there are dozens of OโBriens. It is why trading quality players is very risky. Petty can be a major contributor to a flag in 2024 and we can then still trade him while contracted. It would be silly to let him go now, unless we believe his foot injury will prevent him from having an impact on games next year and we can get better value now.

Two years is a long time. Iโm backing us to keep him.

Tom Hawkins
Thatโs fair. I am sure everyone has had their own experiences with people both good and bad. Iโve said it on here before that Tom was extremely kind and generous and went above and beyond for my friendโs kid when he was diagnosed with cancer. I have also met Emma through work and she was extremely kind and didnโt scream WAG like quite a few other footballerโs wives Iโve worked with.

Lochie OโBrien
My best friend who is a Carlton supporter literally texted me that she's never been happier to see a player delisted. No, thank you.

Farewell James Harmes
This is my gut feel too. To let him go for so little seems weird. On the other hand, he's given us great service for many years and I applaud the club for not standing in his way and just getting it done for his sake. All the very best Harmsey. You started a chain of events that brought limitless joy to thousands of Melbourne fans and you will always be a Premiership hero!

Any word on Angus?
You reckon Maynard practices those types of 'football acts' on Murphy at training?

Any word on Angus?
Didn't Pies fans carry on that Melbourne were negligent to let Gus play despite his previous concussion issues? They didn't seem to mind Murphy playing. If only they were bright enough to understand what irony is.

JJ is not fast nor an elite user. He is best suited for an inside mid role.

Farewell James Harmes
Any player we might be interested in? Going to be quite thin on for midfield depth without Dunstan, JJ and Harmes.

Tom Hawkins
In all honesty if he was open to coming to Melbourne, which Iโm 99% certain he isnโt, it would be a good get for us. We need to go all in before Gawn and May are done. Hawkins will give us the focal point up forward that weโve been crying out for since 2022.

I've spent the last 3 days seeing some pretty horrific things, but this just about tops it.

If McKay is worth pick 3, Harmes is worth pick 4 ๐๐
