  1. This. We cannot play both and we need a tall forward more than we need a second ruckman.
  2. Forecast is improving each day. Now looks like only a few showers and likely done by 9pm. Rest easy.
  3. I always lose my voice after the game. I will be mute by quarter time. Guaranteed.
  4. My wild guess for selection that will 100% be wrong In: Tmac, Laurie Out: Smith, Melksham Sub: Smith or Hibbo I feel like with Tmac coming in we don’t need Smith. What we do need is some classy ball use going inside 50. Laurie has shown that. Especially if it does rain, and that’s looking less and less likely, to have a good ball user around the forwardline will be paramount. Smith or Hibbo as sub. Hibbo if we are worried about McVee on Elliot. Smith as sub if we are worried about Turner or Tmac. Ultimately Smith is the most versatile sub and the best break glass in case of emergency player we have.
  5. The wet makes everyone slower. He has always lacked agility but made up for it in endurance. If he can continue to lead and bring ball to ground, that’ll do me. He just needs not to get out marked or out bodied in the contest.
  6. 0% chance they drop Bowey. One of the few elite ball users in our side.
  7. All the pressure is on the Pies. Finished 1st. Coming in off the back of some questionable form. Nobody will question us if we lose. Questions will certainly be raised if the Pies lose.
  8. Can’t see it happening but Hibbo could replace Salem. I would feel safer with Hibbo in the side. Elliot worries me and McVee has never played on him before. Not saying he can’t do the job but Elliot is an extremely smart and strong player. He’s hurt us before and he’s exactly the sort of player who can turn a game in the blink of an eye.
  9. 14 weeks and two busted feet. Nervous? Me?
  10. The thought of listening to those nuffy fans chant Collingwood as they stare down a win makes me want to throw up. Do not let that happen Dees. I beg of you. Win and win well!
  11. Carlton are in far better form than Sydney. GWS are a very good team who will trouble the finalists. They had to win to make finals and they did it. Carlton were coming off a long period of very hot games and were due for a tired loss. I don’t read much into it. Sydney are in no form. They can’t win a last quarter and haven’t beaten a decent side in weeks, and if not for a bad goal umpiring error and an interchange mishap by North they aren’t playing in September. Carlton at the G will get it done
  12. LOL shows you how accurate it is. I would not bother checking until tomorrow after lunch, and even then it'll change 10 more times. My guess; it will either rain, or it won't.
  13. For mine, I think Carlton will beat Sydney. Sydney are just not it. Lucky to make finals, and couldn't even beat us for a home final in round 24, when we had nothing to play for and lost Melksham. They also haven't beaten a top 8 side since midway through the season, apart from GWS. Carlton playing really good contested footy, and if Curnow has a good game I can't see them losing. However they'll then lose to the Pies, and the rest will pan out as you suggest. I've long thought that it'll be a Melbourne Brisbane grand final, but everything comes down to winning this week. Lose and I think we won't make it past the prelim.
  14. Hope Toby gets off and gets his chance to play in his first AFL final. And has a great game. Although I want Saints to win.
  15. I actually find the iPhone app to be weirdly accurate... but only 24 hours out. Any earlier and it's basically a random guess like any other weather app out there. Every chance the showers won't start until the end of the game or even later. Friday is now meant to be the worst rain of the week.
  16. Jackson's eyes must be lit up that he gets to play finals again... oh wait
  17. JVR can do to him what he apparently did to all our defenders in the pre season and knee him straight in the back. Absolute loud mouth.
  18. He 100% copied me. Got a Cavoodle and named him Bear. My Bear is way cuter tho and a Melbourne supporter 😏
  19. Incredible. Who do we think he can replace long term in our side?
  20. Hunter >>>> Baker
  21. He was performing, he was just having a sook about being a defender. He wanted the limelight of a forward, but Paul Roos knew he was a defender. Howey thought he'd jump ship and win a flag with the Pies as a forward, and take swipes as our club along the way. The club who plucked him from a life of being a tradie in Tassie no less. Ungrateful [censored]. Hope he never sees success.
  22. Kane Cornes says small forward must not be inconsistent like ALL small forwards. The man is a genius.
  23. His knee is cactus. Bone on bone. My best guess is he’ll retire with a year left on his contract and transition into a coaching role with our AFLW team which he already does part time.
  24. Does he not know both clubs got equal allocation and the game sold out within hours?
  25. So are you less worried now if it rains? Surely our vast experience counts for something.
