Some sensible comments and some that maybe are hard to go with.. like the part : "I find it interesting that many of naysayers and doom merchants stress how long they have followed the club and how we should be delivering now. I totally agree with that but I would ask how long do you consider a "long term" to be ... So far we are heading for half a century. If we have not delivered yet I do not consider it unreasonable to be asking when will we or will we deliver again in my lifetime. We will have a new coach before we win a flag or even make the top five or six.. Put that on the record and by all means attack me if I am wrong but acknowledge the prediction if I am right. I have followed football since the fifties and I believe I have learned to recognize a successful coach when one appears. I wish Centrebet were offering odds. I am not meaning to be smart or disloyal. I am looking at the situation as it currently appears to be. I will humbly apologize for the error of my prediction if that's the way it turns out.

OK Boys.. I get the message. Maybe I am as frustrated as most of our long term supporters are. It is getting a little harder each year to listen to our club officials and coaching staff and the fancy TV ads featuring Ronald Dale Barassi trying hard to convince us to get on the Demon success wagon or let the Demon out etc. and to then watch us fail year after year. I love the Dees and I am sick of the ridicule and crap I have copped from supporters of other clubs over the last decade and many years before our 2000 Grand Final appearance. I haven't mentioned Bailey at all ?? I am not a great fan of his , nevertheless, but I am willing to accept the decision of the board and perhaps give him a little longer, but he has a bloody poor record for the time he has been with us.. Once again we will accept that as we do and press on regardless. He does not enthuse me one little bit and always states the obvious in all his press conferences and interviews.I admit I don't see what goes on behind the scenes or on the training track as I do not live in Victoria, but with all due respect to the man I wouldn't try and run through a brick wall for him when I hear him speak.there are a few coaches I hear that would get the adrenalin flowing. Unfortunately they do not coach Melbourne, but one or two I hope may be considered in the near future.. Maybe next year.. Sorry boys it's how I feel. By the way I am not looking for attention by posting what I do on these forums. I assure you I get plenty of attention writing columns and articles for an entirely different sport. I am merely a very passionate "Demon" I am also very used to the internet and sarcasm, possibly not too often from Melbourne supporters.. Happy Easter.

I am telling it as I see it and the way it actually is as can be seen since 1965 and your sarcasm is so commonly known as the "wit of fools". This site appears to be a little bit of a clique for those who love the old we'll be right mentality.I am a person who rightfully expects results from a team I have been dedicated to since I was very young. Winning isn't everything...there is nothing else in professional sport. Hawthorn were asked to merge with us at one stage if you remember and Donn Scott ripped up a mock Demon/Hawks jumper in front of a hall full of Hawthorn Supporters... They have since won a flag !!! (more punctuation marks)We don't even look like it. Get real boys and say it how it is NOT how you would wish. I WANT US TO DO WELL... I think SOME of the posts on here indicate how we accept being unsuccessful far too easily. I lived through Melbourne's last 6 premierships, I know what it felt like. Some of you haven't seen one and accept that Some people have actually agreed with me on some of the points I have made on the two forums I have participated in thus far Whether they do or not bothers me little but I will say what I think and I have every right to do so. Sorry, but we have been listening to similar types of scenarios and "excuses" as these for faaaaaar tooooo looong !!! It's good you are such a dedicated supporter of the club and are trying hard to convince yourself and others that your points are legitimate, BUT we do not have anymore acceptable excuses left in the bag of excuses...Simple as that !!! 1964 Last Premiership... Please !!!!! If we keep accepting mediocrity and half hearted performances then we are just as at fault as the FD and people who over the years have failed us so badly...NO more why we shouldn't be expected to make the finals.. I have heard this for too long. We have had everything "go our way" with draft picks etc and favourable draws THIS year in particular. Why are some of our long term supporters so accepting of these past failures ???. As I stated earlier, Why have teams like Sydney, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn, etc etc. been in similar situations an flownd past us to play in finals and made us look "second Rate? ' Let's be brutally honest with ourselves PLEASE !!! We have the best list we have had for years and we MUST do something with it... !!! Believe me, I LOVE THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB, but I cannot accept any more comments like "we will develop into a finals contender in 2013" Give me a break !!!It will NOT happen if we do NOT make a bigger effort this year. We are in the 8 !!! Big Deal !! We beat Brisbane, Gold Coast and drew with the Swans.. We HAVE to beat better teams. We have to win 3 of the next 4 games or we are BACK where we have been for years !! I am very passionate about that !!

Cocerning and at this point in time a little disappointing.... Yet again.!!!. I can never feel confident we are heading anywhere but where we have been for a while.. I only hope for the sake of our dedicated supporters and thet wonderful gentleman Jim Stynes that we can show vast improvement this year. We as long time Supporters of the club should not now settle for anything less than top eight this year and without wanting to be a pessimist I am not seeing that happening at the moment. I HATE watching Melbourne players taking a "side" step when an opposing player is running at them.. I am so sorry, but I have seen that too often with us already this year and if I become angry enough before long I will start naming particular incidents (if that is allowed on this site) which can be seen quite clearly on the recorded replays.Our players need a little more "DEMON" in them at times. I know we have the ability to really make a mark this year and can only hope we execute the correct "game" plan and go out on that ground each week giving our all for the Club we represent.. I hate the taunts from supporters from other clubs such as "Melbourne are soft" "your coach is a dud because players do not seem to be inspired" Until we prove ourselvesby becoming a force in the AFL, then I have nothing to throw back at them. The proof is in WINNING !!! No other way

We seem to have a better list than we have had for quite a while but to me do not seem to be performing as well as we should be.. We won last week playing only 2 quarters.. I expect more grit and determination from the team I have supported for over fifty years... I am NOT convinced we have arrived yet.. less hype and MORE wins please.. We played a better kind of game last year when we killed the Swans, drew and lost to Collingwood and one or two other games whebn we seemed to really attack the ball at all costs for four quaters. I was looking forward to this year on that basis... We haven't made it yet..Let's see how we perform in the West in round 6 ??? I LOVE the DEEs, but they have been frustrating to support since 1964 !!!!! Others fall behind but then get up and win flags before we even look like it ..

I agree with your quick assessment of Scully's Body language, but it is only ONE photo and I would love to see 2 or 3 more taken during the trip... Not enough evidence to convict him on a "charge" of heading for GWS at this point in time...However, if he goes, he goes.. when has MFCV ever been a one man club?? I think we would be better off focussing on what is happening right now on the field in our current performances.
