Will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021 even if we lose the Preliminary Final
I’ll be a little disappointed if we don’t win four in a row and wipe out 1958 memories but I’m enjoying the ride this year

FINALS: Week 01 2021 (NON MFC)
There is no way this is a non incident if that behaviour filtered down junior football would be horrendous.

2021 ABC Footballer of the Year - Clayton Oliver
I think you have to let Clarry get to 270 games and then make the comparison

Memorable Kickers
No one has mentioned Fred Fannings 116 yard drop kick in 1939 too long ago ? was in a reserves grand final

The Brilliance of Robbie Flower
First time I saw Fritsch play I thought of Robbie skinny , a good kick and mark, probably hasn’t got the evasive skills of Flower but who has Robbie was a gentleman on and off the field and always had time for a chat with a fan ,in fact would chew your ear off in his sports shop if you asked a question about the dees

Was the win against West Coast rigged?
I think the way to umpire in WA is to undercall both sides which is what the umpires did on Sunday then you don’t get sucked in to home town frees. Sure they missed some to them and to us as well. The call against VDB was a bad call but understandable depending on the angle it may have been seen from. I thought the umpires did a good job on the weekend and probably will do so in a final series.

Umpire Report
Ai thought the umpiring was reasonable last night they got a few calls in the last quarter but with the wind and tide going in Adelaides direction and a feral crowd they held up pretty well . Stevic is one of the most even handed refs and I'd be happy to see him out there for us more often Last night the game was let go with lots of iffy calls ignored . Of course Gusses new mate Razor would be welcome too

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 15
I think Petty was a mistake we didn’t respect the opposition enough and paid the price . Frost would seem to be a better option at this time. Still we need to be playing well 5 or 6 weeks out from the finals . The last two years the winner has come home strong . Max was great to watch today

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
By home ground advantage I mean playing an interstate team in Victoria or Geelong playing at Kardinia Park two Victorian teams at the G or Etihad is 50 50 . Tassie games for north or Hawthorn are often WA teams which is a huge advantage. NT games 50 50 if we play SA or WA teams.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
Sitting fourth without having any games with a home ground advantage all year not too bad

What the Fritsch
One R Flower had a similar body type and played a similar type of game

The Game, the Press and the future
Coaches will continue to push the rules and rules interpretations will continue to play catch up. Teams are already experimenting with ways to beat the press notice the increase in the number of torps . I'm a bit disappointed that Max seems to have stopped his but I'm sure they will return

Anyone for cricket?
Does anyone believe that This is the first ball tampering in world cricket . Years ago reverse swing was not even a thing . The poms were sucking lollies the South Africans mints the poms again with dirt in their pockets. We are just not good at it . sure sack Smith and his NSW mates maybe Put some victorians in the team. the problem is that you can’t catch them all the time. My solution is to have a new ball after 40 overs so that reverse swing is not in play. May bring bowlers back into the game without cheating

Clarence Oliver
Basically true but I would say that Hawks are now prey rather than predator and eagles soon to be as well
-
Clarence Oliver
Just a point birds of prey don't have great peripheral vision they have great focused stereo vision in front of them the prey has the peripheral vision to look out for birds or prey. Still I would call Clarry a predator the way he hunts the ball and does seem to have great awareness as well

Torpedo Punt
I used to sit and marvel at Tassie Johnson's drops kicks and I've recently thought that instead of having the umpires interpret whether a behind is rushed or not make the full back have to kick a drop kick from any rushed behind it would resurrect a lost art and coaches would be more inclined to keep the ball in play. Long live the taut instep
