POSTGAME: PF vs Geelong
Well that was a night I'll never forget, easily the best game I've seen us play we were relentless and how good was it in the last, we manically tried to stop Geelong from scoring, absolutely ruthless display that was incredible to witness. And wasn't it good to see TMac drop back in the last, it was like hmmm? we have that option too. Boy did big Max get us out of our seats he was gobsmackingly good I can't believe the level he went to and then topped it off with that chase down tackle. Everyone contributed a highlight it was such an even performance. I particularly want to mention Salem, my goodness he's as hard as a cats head and patrolled that half back line with aplomb. Young Bowey the kid is ridiculously clean, keeps his feet and consistently makes good decisions he is a gun!! Being in a pro Melbourne crowd took me back to my early teens when I was with friends in the members stand at the MCG. My family moved to Perth when I was 16 and besides going to a Melb v Coll game in the late 90s (we won by 54 points which is the second best live game I've been to) every game since has been a WA home game. To be part of a large contingent of Melbourne supporters was amazing and on reflection nurturing and therapeutic we miss out on that over here. There was so much excitement during and after the game high fives with random people, we broke into the song with others on our long walk back to the car and heard a Transperth bus full of supporters singing as it went past us. It was a truly memorable night and everything I'd hoped for and to top it off the Stadium and Bridge to East Perth were lit up in Red and Blue after the game. Amazing.

Consulted my nurse wife for ya fd, what you don't want is to get dehydrated. She reckons 2 std drinks but I'm thinking outside the square and suggest a glass of water after each and every drink 😁 I'm ready to go, wife's looking a million bucks in the colours, she's sporting red horns n'all. Listening to music, feeling relaxed and have a steely confidence we'll be too good tonight. Having a feed and a beer at the empire bar and will then make our way to the ground. Go You Mighty Demons!!!!!

Agree everyone I've spoken to are on us I think we'll have great support at the game. It's going to be a whole different experience to watching us against the Eagles and their rubbish, very exciting. Myself and my 5 Demon supporting mates you can add to the tally.

Max Gawn’s goal - the commentary
Brendon Goddard, to me it was in a, "I hope he doesn't miss" context.

Max Gawn’s goal - the commentary
I was in the mid west of WA, by the camp fire, on my own listening on the ABC and it was Wonderful. I loved how quickly the Grand Old Flag came on it was a stunning confirmation, I reckon the ball had barely landed in the grandstand!

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Bizarre night, no thunder to be heard or lightning to be seen, just a faint breeze blowing around the ground and an occasional fine spray of rain. Still can't believe it. We were disappointed with the way the game finished up actually, felt cheated out of a hearty celebration. We all know the schit we've endured over the years at the hands of this mob and 7 minutes into the last we were feasting on them and a crushing looked imminent, even the booing which is escalating was tolerable. Their supporters are getting worse with every visit I make it sours what is a magnificent Arena. They have helped boo A Goodes out of the game and have seen the free kick count well in their favour and as a result unleash the booing in a war like intimidating controlling manner, it's feral and ridiculous, you just have to laugh! Luke Jackson, wow he is impacting the game. Rarely loses his feet and is clean below his knees, he's getting to so many contests and is starting to clunk marks. In one centre square contest v NN he jumped early, high and gave NN no chance to affect the contest. He has superstar written all over him and although kozzie and Rivers have flown out of the blocks he is absolutely flying down the outside. James Jordon, so reliable, I feel a sense of calm when I see that #23. So fitting that James McDonald presented him with his jumper. Of course Bernie Vince too, fantastic players and a number I love. Harrison Petty is getting better, he goes when he has to, is reading the play well and has an edge to him. He is playing terrific defensive footy and I noticed him a lot. Bowey looks slick, kozzie and Rivers impacting, the youth look to be outstanding prospects and has me very excited. I wonder if a couple more of those draftees between Clarry and 2019 will be able to step up. So happy with our team, woke up feeling chuffed this morning, we are a very good football team and will improve and get stronger as time passes.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
I and most of us gave the boys a bake last week but gee whiz that was as good a reply we could have possibly hope for. They've monstered us in the past so to see them limping, cooked and hurt was hugely satisfying. Well f'n done you red legs!

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
When you work harder than the opposition the ball tends to bounce in your favour. It almost did in the last quarter when we started playing Melbourne footy. The first 3 qtr effort however wasn't going to allow any comeback win.

On this day in 1973
Yeah didn't want to mention the result previously and I see now the angle you are coming from WJ but without the first 3 qtrs, it seemed a tough no compromising and see sawing game. Everyone was cracking in, plenty of goals being scored and a much simpler less officiated flowing spectacle. I did wonder at the 30 minute or so mark how we were going to end up in front so it was disappointing when the siren went. My Demon supporting days started the following year so it was great to hear those players names again especially Ross Brewer who was one of my faves. And I don't know if the Biff had started playing full forward at times in 73, he played full forward mostly in my memory and was occasionally full back when needed. Loved his torpedo goals.

Thanks WJ, enjoyed that!

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Essendon
That was a brilliant albeit nail biting win, our defence defeated their attack in the end and we still have plenty of improvement in us......

Do you trust Melbourne
I have faith that we're on the right track and I trust that we will get better but I think that game showed our overall maturity level is not there yet. Despite us being poor there was a point in the last where we could have taken that game. Max and Fritsch not going for the mark (surprised nobody has mentioned this) Kozzy burning team mates and going the dribble were 2 easy goal chances missed and I'm pretty sure there were other reasonably easy chances in the last that we failed to convert. The second half comeback v Brizzie was super important and leading into the break I thought this game was equally important for us. Back up the 2 previous wins and, show our ability to deal with a struggling side. We had to go 1 more time but unfortunately the mindset wasn't there. We'll improve mentally as we mature, I'm not sure this year we'll be mentally tough enough to win it but barring a NM like disaster we will be getting finals experience and we will keep improving.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Our little Demon group hit a mid season high for barracking noise in the second half last night, apparently the neighbours have a chuckle when a MELB game is underway. I reckon we engaged the neighbours of the neighbours and theirs too last night it was magnificent!!
