I don't really know why but I just hate it when we (Australia, Melbourne and any other team I am rooting for) wait until a series or season is lost to win a game; it feels pathetic and very hollow. I'm not quite sure why I feel like this but it could stem back to my junior footy/cricket days... My respect for the black caps is growing quickly, all over England at the moment! If someone told me Peter Fulton was going to make a test hundred against that bowling attack I would have told them they were insane but good on him! Liking the emerging pace brigade, it'll look even better with Bracewell back too.

So if we win, big deal there is very little positive to take from it if any at all.

Personally this match is a who-gives-a-[censored] anyway as we have lost the series and there is little to be gained from winning this match anyway.

Not much we can do with changes after Bird goes home with stress fractures and we have no decent spinners. Actually Maxwell could have been a handy inclusion.

Not a bad side, I do like your top six as they seem quite balanced. However I'm going to throw it out there and say that your bowling attack is a bit suspect. A good spinner in Herath you have but the inexperience of your pace attack could cost your side severely... I'm not convinced by Finn as the leader of an attack. It would be good fun if these sides could play each other!

No bowlers with an average under 30 and two part timers (Clarke and du Plessis) making up the all rounders bowling quota. However this was a worthy sacrafice I think - both players are very capable of picking up partnership breaking wickets. Happy with a partnership of Johnson and Anderson - I reckon these two bowling together would cause a lot of trouble as they are two extremely different bowlers and would complement each other well.

Got starts in most games in that series, still a healthy career average at about 36. Good enough.

90. Umar Akmal (Pak). Anyone remember him? Debuted at 18 or 19 and starred straight away, very classy batsman. Form has left him a bit the last couple of seasons but only 22 now so expecting him back in the Pakistani line up soon. Brother of Kamran, ex keeper.
