  1. Definitely a chance to get smashed, but a starting three of Petracca, Oliver and Bernie/Lewis doesn't sound too bad. We'll struggle for quality depth through there though.
  2. Carlton v Melbourne at the MCG, 3.20pm AEST CARLTON In:J.Lamb, S.Petrevski-Seton, C.Byrne, H.Macreadie, H.McKay Out: L.Sumner, C.Marchbank (shoulder) MELBOURNE In: J.Garlett, J.Trengove, D.Kent, J.Hogan, J.Kennedy-Harris, S.Weideman, J.Smith Out: D.Tyson (knee), T.Bugg (suspension), J.Viney (foot), M.White
  3. Just uneducated people who never really watched him play, and were caught up in the media circus. Still happens with a number of my friends (mostly Richmond supporters) who regard Watts as a spud. When I ask if they've seen him play in the last few years, they can't give me an answer.
  4. Just saw the footage after reading about it on a local footy forum. Filthy act and considering his position, the AFL should come down even harder on him. No excuses at all and he has a history, which would mean an even harsher penalty if he went in front of a proper tribunal. Looking forward to seeing their response on this one.
  5. Thanks very much for that, I really do appreciate it.
  6. Never pass up a chance to 'lay the elbows in' PD. JKH's VFL form has been great since he last played in the seniors, and this may be due to the role he's now playing, and could come in and play against Carlton. Especially if both Viney and Tyson are out. In response to the original comment, it doesn't matter that he's been dropped 3 times. Form now warrants selection again.
  7. We had some pretty questionable frees go our way too. The umps were poor full stop, and certainly contributed to making it an ugly display of footy.
  8. Frustrating loss but not demoralising. We looked tired and flat, and the opposition are the in form team of the competition. Let's not forget they played in a GF less than 12 months ago. They outplayed us at our own game and it was always on the cards, considering our outs. Particularly when Viney went off. We'll bounce back next week after a decent break, lick our wounds and win enough games to finish in the 8. The belief is still strong.
  9. Deserves the 4-5 weeks he'll get. Disappointing.
  10. Exactly. Not at panic stations at all. We've been ravaged by injuries and 4 games in 18 days. Last nights performance is entirely understandable and we just need to weather the storm. JKH to come in and play the same role he's been playing at Casey. If Tyson doesn't come up, ANB to spend more time in the middle, Hunt to go back and one of the small forwards to come in - either Kennedy or Johnstone.
  11. He's not 'the new Selwood'. He's the only Jack Viney.
  12. Wouldn't mind a week off - a 10 goal win would be lovely.
  13. Fingers crossed. Even though racking up big numbers in the VFL isn't the be all and end all (think Magner, Valenti) it seems like the coaches are happy with the role he's playing and he'll get another crack at the seniors in the next couple of weeks IMO. Particularly with these injuries to our midfielders, it's good that he's there as an option.
  14. Hypocrisy is the name of the game for these guys. They simply try and out do each other.
  15. Tom McDonald in the team of the week as a forward... who'd have predicted that before Saturday!?
  16. Dermott would make love to his own voice if it were possible.
  17. Good one GT. My opinion on Weideman is that his trade value is low, as he's a virtual unknown commodity. Young key position players often are, due to generally developing later that midfielders and other smaller players. My saying his currency is low or non-existent doesn't mean I think he has no potential or is a bust, which is what you seem to be saying. He has great potential and should be afforded plenty of time to develop. I don't want us to trade him, and if the club were to try and trade him I don't think we'd get much for him. Happy?
  18. It didn't look great, but he did cop a bit of elbow to the jaw. They can't 'make an example' of Clarrie after no action was taken against Rance a couple of weeks ago.
  19. Wants to go home to Perth I believe, nothing to see here.
  20. Stringer going backwards so fast you'd be forgiven for thinking he was on wheels.
  21. Precisely. The professionalism continues, and breeds professionalism for the future.
