My biggest dissapointment with this group and 22/23 is we put ourselves into a position the whole year to win those games of football, and the one thing that let us down was our forward entry/goalkicking. Which has now plagued us for the past 3 years. I have no conceviable idea how we havent managed to fix this

it was the leadership group that had a zoom meeting at 8-830, with the whole player group to meet at 10am 1 hour before training. unfortunately some moron decided to tell tom morris

hes an interim pres, not the pres, wont be pres when the new pres or coach starts. not sure what more he could say or do. he tried to show as much respect to simon as possible. public speaking is probably not his forte but at least they had the balls to get rid of him

Ive been a pretty big defender of Goodwin since forever. I was actually happy with this presser as he finally didnt defend the team. He is clearly frustrated publically ( FINALLY!) showing some raw emotion about how shizen we are. I dont think hes going to be able to lead us to another flag with his stagnant game plan, nor do i think the current makeup of our players can execute said game plan. we have 4 senior players starting in the midfield every week ( gawn, petracca, viney, oliver) and i dont trust any of them with the ball. this is alarming. As a dees member, I applaud Simon for what hes done for the football club, and so should our board. Hes brought the greatest enjoyment to us for the past 4 out of 5 years we have seen since forever. The board also must understand its ok to let a coach go because the message isnt sinking in, or the game plan doesnt work for our current crop of players. We arent axing simon because hes no good, we would be changing direction to have fresh eyes. ( if not the coach then a strong coaching panel to assist in the change of game plan) I for one would love to see him able to turn the ship, but its going to be near on impossible to turn it around unless they manage to finish top 6 next season for him to get another gig here. A change of coach may not even work for us, but you sure as hell need to show paying members you are willing to try and get better. If goody doesnt go at end of season Ill put my top dollar on it that half of our coaching panel will be gone.

Yeah you are right on this too. I spose they do over sell the optimism I guess, and certain coaches are probably trying to save their skin a little too

So would you like them to still push for finals? Was pretty clear to me after round 10 that we said we needed to look towards the future

Interesting that you are trying to compare us to a team from 4 years ago. The squad has changed, can’t compare a team from one year to another
