  1. Not necessarily. This company might be the sponsor
  2. Has this leave been approved by Demonland? Seems odd that you're allowed time off during what is traditionally your peak season.
  3. I've learnt over the years not to get to excited over rookie selections. There's a reason why they are not picked in the main draft. While there are occasional diamonds in the rough (such as James McDonald and James Harmes), the strike rate of rookies being successful is not particularly good. However, I would rather a rookie be unfit and skilled rather than the other way around. Fitness takes hard work and time, but if that's all that is missing with a rookie I suspect they have a reasonable prospect of success if they are prepared to do the work that is necessary.
  4. Do you have any data that shows this? I would have thought the opposite.
  5. With the added bonus of grammar lessons, the occasional delve into English literature, music of eclectic taste and a bit of history. And some fun quizzes.
  6. What's the go with two different players wearing the same number? We don't have enough jumpers in the skinny, extra-long size? Or do the two players have to face off against each other to see who wins the coveted Allan Jarrott number?
  7. There's something wrong with my Demonland. The thanks are flowing in the wrong direction. They should be directed from us, the posters, back to the Demonland admin team. Demonland is a treasured resource. And unlike a lot of social media, it's wholesome, generally truthful and a lot of fun. I bestow my many thanks on Andy and all those who make Demonland what it is.
  8. How is that first name pronounced? Like Peter Pius Paul (otherwise known as Crackers) "Keenan"? Or something that rhymes with "my man"?
  9. La Dee-vina Comedia replied to a post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems to be transitioning to a short-sleeve jumper, too.
  10. Having the name "Melbourne" is generally valuable given it's the name of the city as opposed to a suburb or a non-existent location such as "West Coast". I guess sometimes with the good must come the bad. Thankfully, the good outweighs the bad many times over.
  11. I don't know if Ron Burgundy still posts on Demonland, but if he starts talking about Will Verrall, I'm going to be most confused.
  12. I'm not arguing for or against the Fox ranking, but it's foolish to rank the draft without combining it with the trade period and all other list movements.
  13. It's not my fault. I demand a "joke font" be installed! (I had thought TRIGON was interested in the price of the fuel, for some untold reason.)
  14. Just a simple Google image search. I didn't worry about dates. It wasn't the currency of the price that mattered, just the currency of the currency and the way it was displayed.
  15. The MFC article says he was drafted to the rookie list in 2018 and played his first game in 2019. Unless my maths is faulty, that means he was a rookie for 4 years. I didn't think that was even possible. Congratulations are in order as much for persistence as anything else.
  16. Nice mix of imperial and metric measures. Reminds me of US gas station pricing where they weirdly mix decimals and fractions.
  17. I wish the AFL had made the tougher decision to say that every player subbed out of the game cannot play for the next 12 days. That would have got rid of the problem of misuse they were trying to fix. Instead we're back to the red vest/green vest situation (whether they use the vests or not) that nobody seemed to like when it was in use. However, the AFL does have a chance to redeem itself somewhat if they include with this change an additional change of reducing rotations further, say to 60 per club from the current 75. You'll know if the AFL has made the decision the fans want by the reaction of the coaches. If the coaches whinge, the AFL has probably made the right decision.
  18. I know it feels wrong, but it's better for any player who wishes to go into coaching or any post-playing career football role to gain experience at other clubs to improve their skill set. I don't begrudge him taking the opportunity at Collingwood, a club which has recognised a significant deficiency in its relationship with its indigenous players.
  19. And I can perhaps take the credit for being the first (possibly of many) to spell his name incorrectly on Demonland. (I wrote Faris-White). Apologies to the young man.
  20. Pic #24 in the training gallery released by the club is one of those perfectly timed photos which seems to show something that it isn't. It looks like Petracca and Schache are holding hands.
  21. This is more challenging than the quiz itself. What has Richards, Taylor, Wood and Jones got to do with it?
  22. Smith running laps...and also absent. I then realised we have two Smiths on the list. So, which one was running laps and which was not there? Great report, by the way. But my heart skipped a beat when I read someone had something "infectious". Thankfully, it was a smile and nothing more troubling!
  23. Remember when this was the best day of the footballing calendar?
  24. All I've got is that two are named after Prime Ministers and two after US Academy Award winners...and two are named after each other. Can't think of anything else.
