  1. That's what I like to read...conspiracies within conspiracies. In fact, a veritable Babushka doll of conspiracies.
  2. And a related question. Do the players who played in finals with Casey start later as part of the mandatory rest period required by the EBA?
  3. I'm glad they're on board again, but I can't really understand the marketing logic of it for AHG. It's not like AHG is a retail brand. But if they're happy, I'm ecstatic.
  4. If you're into omens, St Kilda won it's (only) Premiership when the Grand Final was played on the Day of Atonement in 1966. Keep in mind that this was before live TV coverage, colour TV or VCRs. Most Jewish St Kilda supporters who were observant and missed the game never got to see it. Ian Synman, a Jewish St Kilda player was a big story that year...would he play in the Grand Final or not? He played.
  5. The Darwin game is 15 July - as mid-winter as you can get. Perhaps it is also mid-dry season in Darwin and therefore expected to have the lowest humidity.
  6. Puffery defined. Doesn't matter who's mouth it comes from.
  7. I think you're right to ask the question. I doubt 2-and-a-half weeks of anything would change someone's body shape. I'll treat that story as puffery.
  8. If Melbourne and Collingwood are both in contention (or by that stage confirmed) finalists, the Round 23 clash could be a corker.
  9. Thanks, but on this evidence, I remain unconvinced. (Right now, though, I suspect the club is pleased they've moved on from Samsung as jumper sponsor.)
  10. He had big thighs when he started his career. But if his thighs were demonstrably bigger between one season and the next, I agree that there would be questions asked (and which may be answerable by responses such as changed diet, additional (legal) supplements and a different training regimen).
  11. And following tradition, he'd probably refuse to come to play with us.
  12. I'd like to see some photos that prove this assertion. Otherwise I can't help thinking it's oft-repeated groupthink.
  13. Just use something that's orange in colour.
  14. This is outrageous. The correct form to use for the first person is "I shall..."
  15. And last year Melbourne used the points system to its advantage, possibly better than anyone else, to get two top 10 picks. Clubs just play the off-field game, some better than others.
  16. Rules, like legislation, are written in a manner that tries to cover every contingency. Sometimes they fail to do so. That's why the Tax Act is longer than the Bible. I'd rather the AFL admit that their rules aren't perfect and fix them than be in denial.
  17. I hope Max mark II is more Max Gawn than Max King.
  18. I can understand this in theory. But handing it back before all legal avenues have been finalised could be perceived as an admission of guilt, irrespective of what words he uses as part of any such process.
  19. Nothing wrong with that. I'd like to think we are doing the same.
  20. I know it's off topic, but who recruited Josh Mahoney to the club? When he was chosen I'll admit I had doubts about his suitability for the position which only goes to show that considering a person's ability to be a football administrator shouldn't be linked to their capabilities as a player. From the outside, he seems to me to be highly capable and should not be ignored.
  21. The "memory of Chas Brownlow"? Who knows anything about him?
  22. I look forward to hearing Nutbean's name called out around this time next year as the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize for Literature. Stuie probably has just as much chance at getting the Nobel Peace Prize, too.
  23. I must admit, I wasn't sure whether to be impressed with your persistence or concerned for your mental health. Or maybe both.
  24. I think to be a recruiting manager these days you need to have an eye for football talent plus a PhD in mathematics.
  25. Had a look at this. If he thinks 47 is the answer to everything, I don't think he understood all the questions.
