  1. What an existential dilemma. Is it even possible to experience a first world problem in Casey?
  2. I'm not sure you can say the term "block-head" is self explanatory when in the whole history of the English language it's never been used in any way other than as a derogatory term. Yet surely you aren't saying it is being used by your circle of mates to criticise the players you've named?
  3. I note The Age today has this game listed to start at 11.35 pm. I'm surprised the Council has allowed them to leave the lights on so late at night.
  4. Or, because it's just a practice match you could decide that the players who performed poorly should be given more not less game time and those experienced players that don't need extra work could be rested. In which case, maybe Lewis and Vince would not play.
  5. Macca, I agree with everything you've said except the last line. The issue is the (over)reaction of (some) supporters to what the system itself produces.
  6. I haven't heard the tape but I have read Mick Warner's story. Two things struck me: who recorded that meeting and why? (That's more interesting to me than who gave it to Mick Warner and why now) there appears to be no discussion amongst the four (Little, Hird, Thompson, Corcoran) that they needed to cop their right whack. Which means they were either all delusional or all convinced of the club's innocence I realise that Warner's story is based on a tape which may not include everything said. But I'm confident that if any of the four had said anything that was anywhere close to admitting guilt, that would have been the main story. So, are they all delusional? Can circumstances such as this lead four otherwise successful and determined individuals to become delusional?
  7. Maybe the Jack Watts omission without a satisfactory explanation is actually a deliberate distraction for another story...like why isn't Jetta playing?
  8. I'm sorry I can't assist, but I'm curious...why those two games in particular? Are they special games or are you trying to complete a set?
  9. So, how much cash do you pay to be strapped?
  10. If Ox is right, those KPIs he didn't meet might not even be training or football related. He might have been late to a meeting, missed a sponsorship event or failed to complete his homework (where have I heard that before?) He also may have been late to training, broken team rules in the intra-club or kicked with his preferred instead of his non-preferred in practice. Who knows? But as long as he knows which KPIs he hasn't met and learns from it, I'm OK with him missing one practice match. I suspect most of our top 10 players will only pay 2 out of three of these matches anyway.
  11. If Watts had played last week, who would have missed out? Spencer, Weideman, Vandenberg or someone else? And I wonder what explanations would have been given for that playing missing out.
  12. If we're basing opinions on what people don't say I think we've gone past rumour into unsubstantiated, idle speculation. Might as well just say it's a hunch based on nothing.
  13. One of them must be a fake made in China.
  14. I think you need a new computer. If the FedEx logo looks red and blue you've got problems with colour display.
  15. If I were picking a team for a practice match and I wanted to see how the team functions with two genuine ruckman, I would not play three tall forwards, otherwise the two ruckman experiment wouldn't be properly tested. I would therefore not play the most experienced of my tall forwards so as to get extra time into younger players such as Hogan and Weideman. Ergo, I wouldn't play Watts or Pedersen. The above seems to have as much merit as any other argument posted here.
  16. It might be hard to believe this now, but there's a fair chance senior people at the AFL in 2000 didn't understand that Internet thingy and had no idea what a domain name was. (Some might also wish to argue that thee's a fair chance that senior people at the AFL in 2017 don't understand the Internet.)
  17. If the oft-stated mantra that any publicity is good publicity is actually true, surely the most valuable brand we could put on our jumpers right now would be "Trump" wouldn't it? Perish the thought.
  18. I'm not sure why you left out Channel 7. You know, because...
  19. What are the reasons given for not training at the MCG in winter? Clearly it's unavailable throughout summer because of the cricket, but if the reason given for winter is the state of the turf, does that even matter any more now that the ground has "replaceable" turf? I'm wondering whether the long-term costs of replacing the turf are still cheaper than building a permanent training facility.
  20. I appreciate you may have been tongue in cheek, but I'd quite happily have Tom McDonald rather than Travis Cloke in any contest where intellect is being measured. In fact, I'd take any of our defenders ahead of Cloke. And just to get Old Dee and other old timers others with good memories involved, didn't Doc Roet play CHB?
  21. The Women's game last year was not "technically" the AFLW League. The idea of a triplicate reminds me of the old William McLelland Trophy. If I remember correctly it was awarded to the club with the most points awarded based on ladder position for the Seniors, Reserves and Under 19s, I recall one year (early 70s?) when Richmond were premiers in each of those competitions and I believe the under-17s as well.
  22. Fails on a technicality.
  23. You're clearly not qualified to be president of the USA.
  24. Really? Why?
  25. My request for Demonland is that posters refrain from using the following expressions over the next 48 hours: "blowing out the cobwebs" "it's like dancing with your sister" and if we win, "it's only a practice match" and if we lose, "it's only a practice match"
