Finals Week 3
You've a short memory Dub, last year we got pumped by the Weagles out West because they finished higher, the advantage is still well and truely there...

Has Donald Trump taken up supporting the Dees...???- Jack Watts - let’s get him back
Much as I think Jack Watts in probably a nice guy, he's rarely excelled in the hunger for agressive high level consistent performances on an AFL field. Still hasn't at Port, as far as I'm aware. Pass.- AVB on Overcoming Injury
Was watching KK's brother play for Geelong last week, and couldn't help but think how things will turn around for us if we can get KK, Vanders and Joel on the ground regularly for us next year... In the hands of the footy Gods, I know, but we are due some good fortune with those three.- AVB on Overcoming Injury
Very exciting news if he's indeed on top of his injury and will play a big role in 2020.- The statistical tale of 2019
Gold- Ollie Wines
I’d take wines for draft pick 3 in a flash... would be top 10 player, add a lot to our mid-field, low risk (as in proven quality) and would grasp the move as opportunity to reinvigorate career. Only downside is how we’d then address the outside run issue and rejig the midfield to accomodate him. Gawn tapping to a midfield group of Clarey Petracca, Wines, Viney, Brayshaw, Harmes etc... would win finals for us.- It's the wingmen, stupid!
I heard Goodwin mention the significant and under appreciated impact of having his first two choices for our wings, in Kk and VDB, out. In that it threw out our ability to impose, defend and attack across the middle in 2019. Was a brief comment from him as while back, but it stuck with me because I too believed that this season would have been ok if these two men had played 20+ games apiece.- Karl Amon
Adding three wings would depend on the prognosis on KK and VDB... hurt us a lot this year those two being out.- Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Adem’s kick off the ground goal in the final quarter of the 2000 Qualifying final win over the Blues one of my favourite moments of all time. #bringademhome- Biggest % Drop Across 2 Seasons
So... back into the top 8!!! Boom! ?- Biggest % Drop Across 2 Seasons
And what happened the year after 1950-51..?- We'll make finals next year.
I’m optimistic that if we can get a full list on the field early in pre-season and through the year we will roll and build some powerful momentum. We have added Lever and May, Kollorjazne, and will add more this draft, and we’re yet to yield a benefit from these recruits due to injuries to them and others.- What would it take to bounce back in 2020?
Aside from better luck with injuries to our best 22. A fit and in form VDB and Kolodjashnij on the wings would help a lot.- Petracca gradually 'breaking out'
Hopefully Our new fitness gurus has a plan for Trac’s tank and ability to burst run more frequently.- David King puts the Boot ? in
Lots of finger pointing, negative speculation and outright nastiness toward our team from supposed supporters on here... Best example is the old “they’re not working hard enough...” dribble... how the fork would supporters who use this line know? So basically you’re accusing our team and coach of slacking off or giving up, which is [censored] thing to say about our team and coaches. Its obvious to all that it’s not working at the moment, but to lob this kind of drivel at our team when they’re hurting like this makes me ashamed to be a fellow supporter. I believe they’re working there asses off and will continue to, and we, their supporters should be supporting them rather than baying like a bunch of angry old losers for blood, blame and insensitive [censored] talk.- Darren Burgess officially our new fitness coach.
Yep we must be in danger of spending half the soft cap amount that the Weagles, Dawks, Druggies, etc spend... every year.- Darren Burgess officially our new fitness coach.
I think with the coach reshuffle and now this, the club is acting maturely to address the issues that had us unravel this year... encouraging signs and signings.- POSTGAME: Rd17 vs Bulldogs
Frost- Can we still make the 8?
As Winny once said “success consists of going from defeat to defeat without a loss of enthusiasm “... So you’re doing well Jumbo. ?- Injury List - Season 2019
This explains a lot. For all of those waxing on about flawed game plans, coach errors, kicking skills, etc etc etc they ALL stem from the above statistic and the reality that all year we’ve been approx 9 best 22 players down against teams with far fewer of their top 22 out. Hence the results, hence the collapse of game style, confidence skills etc... The above stat gives me hope. The above stat tells me this phase is either a statistical abboration or an issue with our medical/conditioning. Both will be fixed. The above stat also tells me that it’s the Dons that are the real story in terms of form, game style, coach, as they are crap with an extra 5 top 22 players on the park each week, and only a game (&%) ahead of us.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS
Undermanned, playing a polished top four team. got away with a modest defeat when it should have been far worse... Bring Salem, May, Lever, Jetta, Hibbard, Hannan, Melksham and Vandenberg back and we compete with the best again. While this season may be lost, all is not.- Umpires hate Melbourne
Maybe, I’m not familiar with NRL. part of the issue is with high definition, slow motion replay, ump errors have become very clear and when they result in a score they are unfair. By using that tech to rectify this without stopping the flow of play, would lower the pressure in umpires and the upset when they clearly get it wrong.
